I have just been for my 19wk ultrasound, and the baby has 2 choroid plexus cysts. There are no other abnormalities found.

From the information that I can find, the majority of these resolve themselves, and are more an issue because they can be an indicator of chromosome issues, and sometimes an amnio is recommended.

Has anyone else faced this issue?

I thought that having a baby at 33yrs old did not make me more susceptible to anything, but apparently this is more likely when you are over 32.

I haven't, but there was another thread on the subject a while back, I think.

Kylie I am so sorry that your baby had this this marker although it is a very common finding and I understand there is only a very loose link to Trisomy 18. They seem to disappear at the later stages of pregnancy and plenty of healthy babies have these, try not to stress although I realise it is easier said than done. It is a great sign nothing else is found usually T18 have other abnormalities that they can often see during the ultrasound such a clenched fists and deformed jaws.

My friend's baby had one and he is fine he is actually very smart!! But go to this site http://choroidplexuscyst.org/forum/ There are people here who are going through the same thing and there are people there that know a lot about this marker and other markers as well. I found this site a great comfort when a down syndrome marker was found during the 18 week ultrasound on my dd1. She was born normal but boy did I stress as I opted not to have an amnio.

Mods I hope it is ok I have posted this forum but it is a specialist forum and a source of great comfort for those who have syndrome markers identified during ultrasounds.
