My DD1 is nearly 4yo and has had ezcema since she was just over 2 yo. To date, we have been unable to identify her triggers and therefore struggle to keep her eczema under control. Just wondering if anyone has any stories to share about identifying triggers for their childs eczema and how they did this? We have exhausted almost every avenue and I am feeling lost and a bit beside myself about it...

Eliminate soap :) stick to using the qv range or something similiar and i prefer the oil in baths etc as it seems to stop skin drying out!
Write down everything that is eaten see if you can see a pattern if excema flairs up with certain foods (with my youngest its anything acidic or strawberries tomatoes etc dairy is fine though)
Washing detergent is a big factor with mine as well
These are what helped me find the cause and thankfully if i stick to what "not" to use they dont flair up but this time of the year i notice it breaks out so i have to do a few cold wraps etc to clear it up i am sure other bubhubbers have heaps more advice but this is how i started to learn things :)
Oh have you been to your GP? Good start :) thats all

We tried common food triggers to start with, then soaps etc. But nothing really helped until we went to a dermatologist.
DD's trigger's are dust mites, pet hair and wool. We had to move house to control the eczema.
My big boy has suffered from severe eczema since he was 12 months. This year he turned 4 and its more under control.
We eliminate chemicals in our home.
Also he had a blood test to test for allergies/sensitivities. Egg, tomato, milk and soy as well as peanuts affect him especially egg and tomato.
Stress is a trigger for him too.
We find he now has more trouble with the asthma and has developed anaphalaxis.
