I have an almost 1 yr old DS  who goes to daycare and in the last 6 weeks every time I drop him off he tends to crawl after me as I'm leaving and is quite restless and sooky all day...

He is like it sometimes at home, more when DH comes home and trys to hug him and pick him up.:crying:

Can anyone provide some advice on what i can do to let him know I'm coming back and that I won't leave him forever??

He has 4 older brothers, does this have anything to do with it?? Sibling rivalry?? :banghead:

Have u read Steve Biddulphs book Raising Boys? His idea, not ideal in many cases, is that boys shouldn't go to childcare before the age of 3. I won't write down the reasons for lack of time but he does go on to say a family daycare with a loving carer or care by a loving relative is far better than a creche/daycare situation.
It'd be better if you read the book for yourself it gives a great insight into boys. Your library might have it.
Oh & I used to leave DS1 in daycare once a month for 3 hours from the age of 2 & a half & he hated it. Took til he was 3 & a half for him to enjoy it.
Sorry if I'm no help, don't want to makle you feel bad.

God love Steve Biddulph hey!! I have 2 boys and my oldest one, who is now in primary school, suffered awful separation anxiety until he hit school, so he was well and truly older than 3. Even in kinder and there was nothing that would 'cure' it. Thankfully he was fine after a minute. So, it may be the personality of the child, rather than the fact he's a boy. Jeepers, four older brothers - you're a legend :)
