Hi Gals!
I have been using eucalyptus oil on tissues and to burn at night as I cannot sleep due to a bad stuffy nose!
I read you aren't allowed to use it in pregnancy, anyone have any comments?

I was told it was a no no. Can be absorbed into your blood stream, thus, tranferred to Bubby.

Does the no no apply to eucalyptus drops as well? Or are they OK to take. Reason being is that I was sucking on them for a whole week with my cold. Bubs seemed to be OK at the 19 week scan which we had last week. What does the eucalytus oil do to bubs?

While I was pregnant with Ben and Matthew, Jake had a really bad cold. I asked my ob whether I could burn in a burner eucalyptus oil and or use a vaporiser with eucalyptus oil and he said both are fine.

After a bit of stressing in regards to using eucalyptus oil, my boss (who is a doctor) and the pharmacist says they have never heard of it being a problem!
I brought a vapouriser and using just steam but may put a little eucalyptus oil in!

Eucalyptus oil can raise the blood pressure, so I think this is why it isn't reccommended during pregnancy. I ate a lot of eucalyptus drops when I was pregnant with my first and was freaking out about it!
But, I have low blood pressure so it doesn't affect me. If you're prone to high blood pressure, it's best to avoid it.
