I am just wondering when do babies begin being more awake in the day? Skye is 4 and a half weeks and all she seems to be doing is sleeping exp when she has her feeds and nappy changes. She has 'wake times' in the afternoons/evenings which is fine but is she supposed to be awake more than that (shes awake for about 2 hours in the afternoon sometimes) I can't remember a damn thing about Hayley when she was a newborn:o
I am not worried or anything as she is starting to sleep longer during the night (6 to 8 hours) I am just curious thats all.

My dd is 10 wks and she is still struggling to stay awake for more than an hour after feed and nappy change. She has been sleeping 12hrs at night for the last 10 days.
No doubt they will wake up soon:)

Ebony is 8 weeks and only now is she really waking for longer times and sleeping much longer too
Her personality is really shining through now too!
My DS goes to sleep straight after a feed & change too. He only seems to have a long awake time between 3 & 8 (awake & screaming that is!!!).

My son is 10 weeks and he pretty much stays up for an hour after a feed, then he goes back to sleep. From various things I have read, more than an hour in the first 2 months will pretty much make most babies overtired, so 1 hour stints or less are perfectly fine. At night time he pretty much sleeps from 6/7pm to around about 5/6am.

Cool, thanks everyone, I just wasn't sure if she should be sleeping or what. She feeds and then goes to sleep pretty much straight away, some days she can be awake for about 20 minutes to an hour after and then she wants another bottle.
