Me? Well I am suffering massively with this pregnancy. None of my others have been this bad. I have actually lost 2 kgs, I know that can't be good, but I just cannot eat anything! Nothing stays down! ( Except eggs - weird I know! )

I have seen my doctor and he is a little worried I may be dehydrated. I am going back tomorrow as well, so he can see if I am better. If not, he did suggest a little stay in hosp on a drip! :(

I'm only six weeks today, I don't think I can go through this ms much longer! Any suggestions are welcome......

How is everyone else feeling?

i know how you feel... i had really bad ms with my girls..

With this one i am just nauseous all day which i don't know what is worse.. :barf: or just feeling your tummy move around all day.

Went to have McDonalds tonight for dinner, i felt like a McOz and i couldn't eat it or the fries, so thinking of having toast.

Been very tired as well, and feeling like a big fat horse.. can't even fit in my normal clothes..

i'm just gone 4 weeks pg and already i'm noticing differences than the last pg's - i never had ms, this time i've been feeling nauseous, tired and faint and i think it was from the day of conception!

i have a flabby tummy from my other 2 BUT today the top of my belly has been really bloated - quite bizarre - i look pg - its too early! maybe i'm further along, impossible, or having twins - as dh said - not so much darling!

I started showing very early... the doctor thought i was further along than i thought, but i'm not, i'm less. And twins... well they could only see one sac but its quite large, and one fetal pole..

It must be the month for m/s! I didn't have a single sign of it with my last pregnancy, but I have been feeling really seedy from day dot this time round! I have only thrown up a couple of times, but mostly just feel nauseous all day.
I have to say that I do find the m/s somewhat comforting though iykwim... At least I know that everything seems to be on track.

I have also noticed that my pants are starting to get a little tight, but I'm not sure if it is just bloating. I seem to puff up like a blowfish after dinner. By the time I go to bed, I look about 6 months preg! It is really gross!

I had my first US today... Bubba is doing great so far! All this MS is worth a healthy bubs!

I was really sick with the girls, but stomach is turning 24/7 with this one.

Did you see a heart beat at your ultrasound?

I'm only 5 weeks, and already feel sh!t... Not in a debilitating way, but definitely not feeling great.

My blood pressure has obviously dropped, so I'm having dizzy spells and blood noeses, I'm feeling nauseous for at least half the day... but not vomiting yet yay!!!! (Normally this starts about week 6 for me... fingers crossed THIS one will be different :) ) have headaches and have hot and cold sweats. House stinks.... although I'm the only one that can apparently smell it... and I'm grumpy LOL

For me... this is normal/ good ATM... But I'm having a whinge cause I can... and I'm just having a bad morning.

How is everyone else feeling ATM????

(and hi to my cousin if you read this... surprise!!! Snip definitely didn't work... and ATM it is a secret from all family...LOL... I doubt you will look in this thread... BUT if you do... I LOVE YOU, and SHHHHHH !!! :) )

Hello,

I am also feeling off colour all day. I haven't really thrown up, but the sight of some foods makes me wretch and I am exhausted all the time.

I have been so looking forward to MS after TTC for over a year!! It serves me right! ;)

First doctors appointment this week. Then hopefully a scan in a few weeks. I am 7 weeks today I think.

Love Tilly

Hi,

Wow sounds like everyone has gotten m/s bad!
I got it with my 1st and lost 5kg in the first trimester but nothing yet this time. Though I'm onky 4 weeks and 2 days.
Have noticed the extreme tiredness and mood swings though..poor DH :)

I hope I show really early. I still have left over beelly though from #1 so does this usually mean you show later or does it fill out earlier?

Take care everyone

Kel :)

Don't know how it is possible this early on but I'm feeling like :barf: throughout the day, haven't as of yet but did find myself over the toilet bowl last night. And here I was thinking ms didn't start until later...

Getting some cramping too.

I don't mind too much at this stage as it is making it feel more real, but we'll see how I feel in a few weeks time!

I really have NO symtoms at all which after reading some of your posts & how far along you are kinda worries me. this time with DS is had sore (.)(.) & was feeling "preggers" but nothing.

Could that be beacuse it's number 2? or do I hv cause for concern?

What'd ya recon?:o

I didn't have many sytpoms at early stage. except for the sore (.)(.), it has only been a week since the m/s has started, and with my first 2 i had it from 5 weeks. You might not notice the signs as much this time around.

I've been feeling the tiniest bit queasy, but I can feel the tiredness starting to hit. You really do forget how tired you get in the first trimester!

Other than that, a few twinges in the belly area, and a bit of lower back pain, which it exactly the same as DS' pregnancy.

My boobs aren't too bad, as I'm still breastfeeding DS - though just cut him down to one night feed (cut out morning feed) this week.

They were really sore last time, I wonder if that won't happen this time because my milk ducts are still working and expanded ;)

Hi all,

I've felt like I'm coming down with a cold or flu - slight fever & sore throat, bit of sneezing & tired. Thing is, it hasn't got any worse, which it normally would ...
Anyone know if this could be pregnancy related?

elissas
19-06-2007, 02:40 PM
Yep, a small cold can be a symptom of early pregnancy. Apparently your immune system has to drop a bit so the embryo can survive, otherwise the immune system would cause miscarriage as it contains foreign DNA. This is what my GP told me anyway.

Hi Gals,

Hope everyone is coping with the MS - I certainly am not. I was admitted to hospital yesterday for dehydration and put on a drip for the day! Feeling slightly better today, but still can't each much at all!

I'm starting to feel like all of this is just not worth it. I regret even saying that as I type!

Dh is being fantastic, coping with working and looking after everything at home. I couldn't do this without him at all!

I am not BF Scarlett anymore, so I am think of asking mum to look after her and Jasper for a day or so, so I can just sleep, relax and try to feel better without being a witchy poo mother! lol

LauraLu - OMG yes! My skin is shocking, I'm getting pimples all over the place.

NicNac - Sucks to hear you have such terrible ms. Did you have it this bad with your other kids? I really hope it starts to improve for you and you get a bit of rest.

Mahna - Hope your cold clears up!

As for my state of feeling queasy, it has actually improved a little over the last two days. It is still there on occassion but not all day and I feel like eating again. Hope thats not a bad thing. I think the bad nausea was actually related to nerves and excitement, it mysteriously got a whole lot worse just after I discovered I was pg...:detective: . Anyway, we'll see what transpires over the next few weeks!

NicNac.. ((HUGS)) It is debilitating isn't it... Hope the worst passed soon for you.

I'm feeling ****... fainting, noes bleeds, and ms... look like I'm on drugs already and I'm only just over 5 weeks.. *sigh*

I always get sick... I just hope that each one gets better....

Feel a bit crampy tonight, probably didn't help that I was yelling at 2 of the kids so much tonight... Teenagers... Lets just say they make the baby stage of no sleep easy LOL

I feel like I wanna :barf: already today:gloomy: and sooo tired and light headed...I feel like i'm gonna faint any minute...

22-06-2007, 11:08 AM
Awww... I'm sorry you guys are feeling so yuck! I feel bad now because my ms seems to have eased a lot. I still get waves of nausea in the evenings mainly & if I don't eat often enough. I hope you guys all start feeling better soon!

My skin has also gone really bad. I have a really pimply face, but the rest of my skins is dry & itchy while my hair is sooo oily! It is driving me crazy!

I had my first OB appointment yesterday & got to have a quick scan. Bub is measuring a bit smaller than my dates, but I could see the beautiful flicker of a heartbeat so am feeling a lot better about this pregnancy now. My OB has also been nice enough to let me pop back in for another quick scan in a couple of weeks so that I don't have to wait until my 12 week nt scan to see the heartbeat again. That should help with my anxiety.

I am really enjoying reading how everyone else is going! It feels good to know that I am not the only person in the world having the thoughts & feelings that I am having & it's great to be able to share with you guys!

mahna mahna
22-06-2007, 12:57 PM
Ugh, I don't have ms yet thank god, but the skin on my face has broken out majorly! Shhh, my hairs oily & my body skin's dry too. Other than that, my cold's taking it's sweet time going away, so I'm extra tired.

But, I'm so excited & happy that it makes it all easy to bear KWIM? Maybe I'll take that back later on LOL!

Hope you're all having a lovely day!

Hi guys! I am so happy to join you all! :smiliedance:
I'm sorry to the ones who have bad M/S  I hope it eases soon.

I'm starting to wonder if I really am pregnant! I've had barely any morning sickness. Last night as I was going to bed I felt like I was going to be sick, but didn't.

I'm definately tired, but that's nothing new!

I knew I was pregnant way before I did a test, my boobs started leaking! I was going to the toilet every hour on the hour and boy was I cranky! LOL.

Weird thing is, I had two BFN. Then two days later, I got a BFP from the doctor. I didn't get to see the test, so with that and barely any symptoms, I wonder if I really am pregnant. LOL

I look forward to getting to know all of you :D. I only recognise two of you, which goes to show how long I've been away for!

MrsO

Morning everyone!

I must admit it is comforting knowing I am not the only one having a flashback to my teenage years when it comes to my skin, it is just terrible! For the ladies who have done this before, how long does the bad skin last? I hope not the whole pregnancy, when am I supposed to look glowing? At the moment the only things glowing are the bright red bumps all over my face  .

Yes tiredness has hit, having my nanna naps and sleeping for ages at night. Trying to hide the fact that I'm in bed by 10pm most nights (usually a 2am type person) from hubby, that does look a bit suss!

Not really any nausea, just have moments of it. The calm before the storm hey?

Welcome to all the ladies who have recently joined us in the Feb thread! Looking forward to getting to know you all and :fingerscrossed: for a wonderful pregnancy!

I tell you what, its starting to feel real now. I think I've done enough pregnancy tests and and gotten enough strong positives to be able to start believing it. Its pretty incredible, I know 'it' is only like the size of a grain of rice, but still, its there and its going to turn into a baby. Don't mind me, I'm just trying to get my head around it.

Alright, have a wonderful day everyone!

I'm really sorry to hear that so many of you are feeling so bad.

Luckily I haven't had any m/s yet, or any real food aversions. :fingerscrossed:

I do think that our dogs are smelling far worse than usual, so maybe my sense of smell has been affected.

As this is my first I have nothing to compare it with and I'm flying completely blind. Is it normal to worry this much? Every time I get a pang or cramp, I get worried. I'm going to have to learn to relax or I won't make it until Feb!!!

Hope everyone feels better.

I must admit I'm feeling good today, had my first little bit of m/s yesterday I think - I felt quite off-colour, but I had a piece of tast and then felt much better. But apart from that - I'm still feeling pretty good - maybe it would be more real if I was feeling lousy :o

Went to the doctor this afternoon (just to check everything) and he was happy that everything is fine. Can't wait till I get some pictures of the little peanut :D

Hope everyone if feeling good (or a least better than you were)

Hi everyone,

Well I'm now 5 weeks and 4 days and feeling ok sometimes and bad at others. Getting quite nauseous on and off, especially when hungry and my hunger just seems to come on so quickly and often. I'm also craving fatty junk food which isn't great of course! And of course I'm very tired and sore (bad shoulders and neck).
Hope everyone is going ok and that the m.s stays away.

Glad you're feeling well Luella - I'm getting mild ms, but in the late afternoon/ evening. And my bbs are soooooo tender!! I can't lie on my stomach or wear underwire bras - too sore! And I'm a bit lightheaded now too. Oh, and I still have this achy, crampy feeling around my lower abdomen. That's it though!

BTW Luella, one of my EDDs is the 26th Feb - we could be in hospy together! I'll be getting a better guestimate from the OB at 10 weeks though.

Hubby's at home. I'm house sitting for my Mum, she's on holidays. So I'm stuck in the house for 2 weeks cos it's raining and I don't drive.

We took a chance the other day and went up town while it wasn't raining. On the way home it started pouring!

I am not feeling anything much at all and feeling really concerned about it. Felt a bit "off" over the weekend and last night after dinner I felt so sick, but it passed. My boobs might be a bit sore, but nothing major. I just really really really want to see this scan on Tuesday to know that it is still there!

Can ms come and go?

I was five weeks yesterday.

YES it certainly can! Anything can happen when you are pregnant! Once with Bradley I felt severly sunburt for 2 days! had trouble wearing my work clothes

And as I have said in another thread with Bradley I didnt get any symtoms until 3 months! ... OH BOY I got everything!!! It was terrible.. Enjoy the calm before the storm..

The mistake I made with my 1st (bradley) is that I didnt ENJOY being pregnant... it is only for nine odd months in my case less... but it is such a short time, a peaceful time that you have with your bub!
In the end as Sick as I was I didnt want to deliver as I wanted Bradley as close as possible! And diddnt want to let go of him (i knew he would be intensive care for a little while)

ANYWAY... ENJOY!
ENJOY YOUR BUMP! its not there for long!!

Luella, I'm the same - sometimes I can actually forget I'm pregnant... I've been reassured it's completely normal not to have symptoms early on.

Well, I'm starting to get ms, but it's mainly at night right before bed. And my bbs are so sooooo sore - the cat walked over my chest last night in bed & I shrieked in pain! Scared the c**p out of DH & the cat... lol!

Melle,

As I was stressing about the exact same thing a few days ago, I did a bit of googling, & found that it's completely normal for ms to come & go, be worse some days, better on others. I had one day of bad ms about 1 week ago, & then virtually nothing until today. Same with the bbs, mine have been sooo sore, but today they feel a bit better. Hope that's somewhat reassuring!

hiya mummas and mummas to be...

Hope the ms eases for those of you suffering :hugs:

OK, put me down for terrible skin and a bloody cold. I can't smell a thing though which is handy for nappy changes...

Hardly any morning sickness, only really if i read or text when in the car, no sore boobs. Desperately waiting for them to reinflate after the Nix lol

I had 3 negs and was just about to start taking the pill again as the dr was trying to restart my mia periods, when I thought I better do just one more... So I was feeling paranoid that it was false as I didn't have the same symptoms as last preg. But a couple more hpts and a blood test have convinced. I guess I should just feel lucky that i'm not so nauseas this time.

The only thing the same is that I've gotten a cold and i have mild cramps that come and go. Can't wait for my US on wed to set my mind at ease. Nothing like seeing the heart beat to make you relax!

elissas
30-06-2007, 10:19 PM
I'm mainly feeling queasy, but I've also had a cold. The problem is that the cold makes me cough and then gag, but I've only vomitted once so far.

Luckily my bbs don't hurt like they did last time. For those who have had a bub already, have you found that your bbs feel normal? Or is it because I'm still breastfeeding, so the ducts are probably still expanded? My nipples have been sensitive while feeding though.

Oh well, doesn't matter, I'm not missing the soreness.

rynosmum
01-07-2007, 05:14 AM
Well I had a scare two nights ago, some tiny spotting but massive tummy cramps - I honestly thought that I was about to lose the bub :crying:

Since yesterday morning though, I've had no more issues which is fantastic although I'm just taking it easy anyway.

I've got the flu too so I think that like some of you, it might be masking some symptoms. BBs aren't sore but are sensitive, M/S comes and goes, am quite lightheaded on occasion. I was absolutely exhausted with the last pregnancy but not so much yet with this one although I normally stay up quite late and last night, even with guests over, I crashed at 9:30 and slept right through to 6 (normally I sleep for about 5-6 hours).

I haven't had anymore spotting or cramping since Friday night so I'm hopeful that we're back on track.

Nausea has kicked in in the past two days which is great. I'm finding that I'm just not hungry at all though. When I eat, I don't feel ill - just kinda wonder why I'm eating because I'm not hungry. I've lost 2kgs in the last week and a half without trying.

I'm still eating regular meals, just not snacking on junk I guess and my portion sizes are much smaller.

I have a Dr's appt tomorrow and then my viability scan hopefully early next week.

Good luck for tomorrow Bump-to-be!!!

Hi bump-to-be

good luck with your scan 2mor. When are u due approx?? im kinda the same as you - no reeeaaalll symptoms - a bit queezy from time to time - had a few days last week where i felt pretty rotten but not much since! My BB's arent really sore either and im not needing to pee any extra either and im not emotional... so i guess we are in the same boat - maybe its an IVF thing???!!!!!! makes you wonder if everything is ok though doesnt it??

My scan is next monday ( a week today) - i will be 7w5d so hopefully we should be able to see a bit happening.

Do you even feel pregnant?? sometimes i just sit and wonder if i am cos im not sick etc like everyone talks about!!

Let me know how you go 2mor - cant wait to hear all about it!!!

Wow, with 50 mums how does one keep up?

RM, I have been losing weight too - hope it keeps up for a while - like 9 months would be nice :D

Melle, enjoy your lack of m/sickness. It really does suck. Mine is quite strong this time round. Stronger than with the twins, but perhaps it is because I can't rest these days.

My regular symptoms are in full swing - poor dh can't drive over 50kms/hour on our windy dirt roads or I'm down his throat like the paranoid pregnant passenger I am. My ability to cope with double doses of the terrible two tantrums has shrivelled to a tiny representation of my normally fairly robust self.

Grapefruit is on my craving list. And salad. Hope that keeps up, it is usually battered flathead tails and potato cakes with chicken salt.

Melle, I was in your situation a few days ago & was worried too. Then the symptoms hit all at once, leaving me wishing for what it was like before. My advice, enjoy it while it lasts!

Duchessa, I'm craving salad too... and lemons! I also have ms, though I'm not losing weight - somehow I'm hungrier than ever!

rynosmum, great to hear the bleeding's stopped & ms has arrived - looking good!

Aww I feel for you Mumof 6. I don't know how u manage. I'm a mum of 1 and I am really struggling. I'm only 6 weeks and 3 days and am having all day sickness. I haven't actually vomited yet but dry-retching a lot and just feeling ****, exhausted and sick the whole day. Didn't get it half as bad with Kyla so I'm wondering if its twins or just how its going to be this time. Last time I was sick from about 7 weeks to 13 but then eating helped and even though I was vomiting then I didn't feel this bad all day and night.
Anyway I know its all for a great cause..just need to keep telling myself that.

What are These Scans evereyone is Talking about???

I Want One!

Mostly they are 'viability' scans. Early scans to try to determine that the sack is growing and has a little bubba in it. Not entirely necessary, generally a slight icky internal probe, but reassuring in a strange way.

As I've miscarried before, I always get them - not that it has ever made a difference in the long run to be honest, but it does give you the first chance to see your bubba.:D

Scan today went really well :D :smiliedance: . Everything appeared to be as it should and we got to see that little heartbeat. I can't tell you what a relief it was to see it. I was SO nervous going in there. And the whole "I'm pregnant" thing is finally starting to sink in. It is very cool isn't it!!!!!:yelclap:

Melle - Hold hope! I have no symptoms and a lovely wonderful amazing little (blurry) blob with a heartbeat inside me! You will be fine. But you will feel SO much better about things once you have your scan next week. I hope time flies for you. I wonder if its the drugs we are on that make us not feel any different. We have probably been feeling like we are pregnant for weeks, so now don't notice any difference!!! I am glad it is not just me though. So nice to be sharing this journey with you.

rynosmum, that is so good to hear that your spotting and cramping have stopped. What a relief for you. Goodluck for your scan. It makes it all feel so much more real when you see it on the screen. My eating habits haven't changed, however I do know when it is time to eat. I get that acidy, quessy feeling like it has been too long between meals. But still only eating 3 meals a day, although I am trying to have fruit for afternoon tea to maintain the "eat every four hours" thing. I actually don't think I would make it till dinner if I didn't.

mumof6, well aren't you a sucker for punishment! Wow, 6. I am feeling very lucky not having any ms after reading your post. Hope it wears off soon!

Hi girls, my sympathy to those of you who are unwell....me too! Just got over four horible days of m/s including throwing up which all came to head with me crying on the couch and wondering how i am going to do this for the next ??? months. So emotional!! Anyway, not feeling 100% today but certainly not as bad- *phew*
Just wondering how you girls with m/s cope at work? I haven't told anyone yet, but a few colleagues have been asking what's wrong as i don't look my normal self. Also wondering how much longer i'l get away with late starts in the morning before my boss starts to get peeved? (my workplace is fairly felxible but i don't want to push it) Is it worth just telling them what's going on or should i wait for the 12 week mark??

I'm utterly exhausted too. How do all you superwomen with children already get by!? I truly admire you!

Well I'm tired, have constant low-grade ms (just nausea - no throwing up), & I constantly feel much warmer than usual. I was told that's due to faster metabolism, which also explains the voracious appetite! I really feel like having a big old whinge about it all, but TBH, don't have the energy... lol! I agree with what everyone is saying about the tiredness. I am constantly exhausted and even a pretty small amount of activity takes it out of me. I am scared because what am I going to do for the next bub when I'm this tired with a toddler? I second what mahna said, I take my hat off to you mums out there going through this a second or subsequent time, wow.

Oh dear me, complaining about being tired now, what am I going to be like when this blob grows into a 9lb-something screaming newborn who has no interest in the concept of night time?

Aren't we all a sorry lot :(

I've been sick a few times today. I have the constant nausea too (which I had with DS but not so much sickie).

Anyway, DS thinks mummy being sick is hilarious - he stood next to me with his hand on my shoulder while I was being sick, giggling his head off. Every time I was sick he thought it was even funnier, giggled harder.

Suppose that's better than him being scared!!

MrsO, let's hope your bub doesn't turn into an 18month old with no concept of night time. DS still doesn't sleep through

Hi everyone!

I'm 9 weeks, 1 day and doing pretty well really. I have been very lucky with the morning sickness - I had a couple of days last week where I felt a bit ill/ queasy but nothing drastic, and it seems to have gone away completely this week. I had none at all earlier in the pregnancy.

Last week I had a very 'tired' week too where I was sleepy all day, but that also seems to have eased up. Sleeping brilliantly at night, 9-10 hours with really vivid dreams.

My main symptom right throughout has been the huge swollen bazoonkas  .... Oh, and an insane urge to go to the toilet every 5 seconds.

I'm still in the 'eat everything in sight' phase too; am trying really hard to make it healthy stuff but am really craving bad things like fries and chocolate and jelly snakes. Hey I've given up smoking and alcohol, got to have one vice, right?

Possibly the eating thing is why I have a discernable tummy already..... must stop :p

But if you have a good relationship with boss, just tell him/her. What the heck! As long as they are good at keeping secrets!!

Melle - Nope, still more or less nothin! My bbs hardly hurt at all, I am not rushing to the toilet every 5 minutes, not emotional, I am tired, but I have the flu, so it is hard to tell what's causing it. I think I had my first bout of ms this morning. Only lasted a couple of minutes, but phew! Yuck! Hope that stays away! My cramping has eased up too for the last week or so. Other than being sick as a dog with this cold/flu thing, I am feeling fine o fine. How're you going?

I have started going to pilates to prepare my poor body for the big bump! It is excellent. Low impact, low heart rate, focuses on all your core stability muscles, esp stomach. Perfect for us pregga's ladies!

Does anyone else just want to go out and start shopping!!! I am having to restrain myself. Don't want to get to far ahead of things. Want to at least wait for the 12 week scan. Lucky I don't live in a city or I'd be window shopping like crazy (and probably purchasing silly little stuff!)

Hope all of you with ms feel better soon.

I've been thinking pilates or yoga. Is yoga okay? Do you need special 'pregnancy yoga' classes or can they just adapt a regular class?

I can't wait to go shopping either but what's stopping me is I want to move out of our tiny unit first, so I have somewhere to put everything! Layby seems like a very good idea though.

Good to hear you are enjoying the pilates B2B, I am considering doing either that or joga. I'm also going to be starting antenatal aqua classes soon, probably around 12 weeks or so. Does anyone know when is a good time to start?

I'm hearing you with the shopping thing!!! It would be a lie if I told you all I hadn't bought anything, but I've just bought a couple of cute little jumpsuits, nothing major. But I want to go out and buy big stuff, I don't think its helped by the fact that hubby is away. Because of the move we're going to have to go out and buy everything pretty soon, so I might get to go to my huge shop in a couple of months time. :smiliedance: .
I've been obsessed with everything pregnancy and baby related for quite some time now, so I'm pretty set on what I want and don't want, so it shouldn't be too hard. It'll be exciting though.

Right, off to get my dinner sorted. Guess what I'm having? Tacos  . Lets all hope I can practice some self control tonight  .

Bump-to-be, I certainly am a country mum. We are in Snowy River country in the mountains and yes, have lots and lots of sheep. Are you a country bumpkin too - spose you must be in SW QLD!

I reckon Pilates is a great prep exercise - really good for recovery too. You'd just need to watch out for the strong abdominal stuff later on when you get a belly. I did it when I had the twins for most of the preg - up til the point where getting up and down off the floor was all the work out I could take  And it certainly helped me get a rough kinda approximation of the figure I had prebaby back.

I had the first of my viability scans yesterday and everything looks good, even a heartbeat :smiliedance: - appt with FS today was good too - nothing seems to indicate that I will have another m/c yet so fingers crossed this one is finally going to be a stayer. Still have to inject myself with that bloody clexane every day though.

M/s is rather sucky. Especially when you have to deal with kids. Food, poo, spew and goo are not nice  Sleep is good too - MrsO, in the light of things to come, stay in bed for as long as you possibly can for the next 7-8 months :D

That's great news about the viability scan Duchessa!! Oh & I'm quite envious about where you live - I'm a wannabe country bumpkin meself. :D

Bump-to-be, Yep - I've got the shopping urge already too! Have been doing some online 'window' shopping to scratch the itch until I reach 12 weeks.
Pilates sounds ideal for pregnancy in general! Unfortunately I can't do it, due to having extremely loose joints, so will do aqua-exercise instead... when it warms up a bit!

Mrs O, try & control yourself around those tacos this time! :shame: :D

I hear you about the ms Duchessa! Thankfully I don't have all those other wondrous bodily products to cope with... But yes, my 'morning' sickness is lasting all day - I've told DH to get used to the idea of just having one kid, but he & I both know I'll change my mind once the ms passes!

strawberry lovemuffin - (such a great name by the way!) Layby sounds like such a great idea. I will have to remember to keep that in mind.

Mrs O - Where are you moving to? Aqua classes sound great. That is the only thing about living in the country - you don't get much choice or access to things like that. I have NO idea what to buy. You'd think I'd have it all sussed out after 2.5 years of TTC!!! Plenty of time to prepare! But I will just have to ask you lovely ladies and my friends with children I guess.

Duchessa - Wow, the snowy river country! I am jealous too. Although not of the cold weather! We live on the border of Qld and NSW. Mixed farming country. Broadacre irrigation. DH and I were both brought up on properties but we live in town at the moment. We would love to buy a small block though, but land around here is just too expensive. And the idea of going back to farming in the current climatic conditions is far from appealing. Hey, congrats on your viability scan. That must have been the biggest relief! I hope everything goes well for you in this pregnancy. Did you have trouble TTC or are you on the clexane because of the mc?

mahna mahna - I have been doing a bit of the internet window shopping too! I am dreaming about how to decorate and set up the nursery. This is so exciting!

It is so nice to be getting to know you ladies. I hope a few more join in this thread. It is a good one.

Just been reading a few posts about exercise. I'm new to this pregnancy thing and am waiting till we tell people. So this is my source of information ATM. Was reading what strawberry lovemuffin and MrsO were saying about exercise - yoga and pilates. I might sound naive here (first timer and all) but can you still do classes at the gym like pump and combat? Or do I have to do low impact? I thought as you got more pregnant you had to slow down?

BTW - feeling fine, only one time I felt like vomiting, sore breasts but not feeling hungry. Is that normal at this time? How much weight do you normally but on in this trimester?

Melle - Good luck for tomorrow!!! And hey, here's hoping we ALL have births like your friends, that sounded wonderful!

B2B - We're moving from Perth to Hobart at the end of the year. The main reason was for my work, but I think that'll get put on hold for a little while. We're also just looking forward to a bit of a change, it is such a lovely place. It must be hard with a limited availability of services being in the country, but it sounds like you've got pilates and such, that'll do wonders!

Duchessa - I know it was a few days ago but congrats on your viability scan. Its awesome seeing that little heart beat isn't it?

Mahna - Hope you aren't feeling too sick honey.

Happyfirst - I'm new at all this too, so perhaps someone else will want to correct me, but I believe you can continue classes such as pump and combat as long as you feel comfortable within yourself doing them. You have to keep an eye on your heart rate and temperature, make sure they don't go too high. I think if you have been doing them for a while already then its fine, but you probably don't want to take them on as a new exercise, your body wont be used to it. Like you say though, once the belly appears it would get a lot more difficult to swing that weights bar around!

As for me, well I cracked and told my husband last night. At first I was really worried that I'd done the wrong thing, especially when he had to get off the phone a couple of minutes later because he had to work, but I've gotten an email from him now and he's really excited and looking forward to it. He's still a good 3 weeks away and I just couldn't keep it up, he's been gone too long. Nevermind, I tried.

Not feeling too bad, my cough has gone and the antibiotics are finished, which I'm really pleased about because I didn't like taking them. Completely gone off coffee and tea and chocolate:thumbsdown: , but obsessed with citrus fruit, so it could be worse. Overall, not feeling too bad.

Alright, hope I haven't missed anyone, there are a lot of people!

Have a great day everyone!

Just popping in to say hello, and hope that everyone is feeling OK... or at least hanging in there.

I'm actually getting sicker... *sigh* I vomit about 10 plus times a day now, and dry retch every half hour at least.

Glad it really is worth it... I hate this part.

Hope to catch up better as soon as this worst part fades a bit.

Oh... told MIL... she wants us to get rid of it (NOT HAPPENING) and told my dad who is fine over it... just worried about my health.

Sounds like my labour with DS except the 2hr bit (DS was 56hrs total contractions, 8hrs established labour).

DH is a hypnotherapist and it really does work. At peak it felt like strong period pain. Loved every minute of it and couldn't wait to do it again straight after.

If you want a natural birth definitely look into hypnobirthing.

I'm really interested in hypnobirthing elissas. Just a matter of working out the finances, as I also want a doula. I wonder if the hypnobirthing CDs etc are any good or if it's better to go to classes? Anyone with any experience?

Well, I'm feeling pretty awful... lol! Not as bad as vomiting 10 times/ day though - poor you Mumof6!! No, I've just got constant nausea & dry retching, combined with utter fatigue. I can't wait for this part to be over!

Mrs O, I don't blame you for cracking hun! I would never have been able to keep it from my DH, not even for an hour... lol! I'm off chocolate & coffee too - just the smell of them would make me :barf:

Melle, good luck with the scan tomorrow!!

Mumof6, shame on your MIL! Why do some people think they have the right to say such offensive things? :shame:

Paula, sorry you're feeling so yuck - the only thing I can suggest is gargling with salt & water or drinking hot water with honey... Or you could always go to the chemist & ask them? Hope you feel better soon.

Queasy, tired and headachy all weekend.... nothing unbearable, just feeling generally under the weather, kind of like a hangover without the fun beforehand!

Sneezing/ runny nose too - anyone else get that? Maybe it's just hayfever and nothing to do with the pregnancy.

Some good things I'm noticing though are my NAILS have started to grow really long and strong! I had terrible nails beforehand, now they're lovely!

Have had a couple of periods during the weekend where I felt fine and then panicked that the baby wasn't there anymore - can't win can you :D

Hey girls, I've been reading alot but not posting. Thought I'd pipe up :D

I'm finally just coming to terms with the fact that so far this pgy is COMPLETELY different to DS. With his this time i was :barf: every day all day from 6-18 weeks!, Sorreeeeeee Bb's, very very tired & just generally a mess! hehe Oh I didn't put on wieght with him til' about 16-17 weeks when i started to show.

This one I'm feeling ok. there I said it. pangs of nausea but I can handle it, I'm tired but bearing it, Bb's are fine just a little more sensitive - I've put on 4kg in 3wks:eek: & am showing terribly early.

It defiantely goes to show that its true - every preg is different. As a result everyone's been telling me that (now we know it's not twins) it's definately a pink one, due to the vast differences, Dunno..we'll see

I have my 1st OB appt on Thurs so that'll be good to get out some itching Q's.

Hope you're all feeling ok today. :hugs: Fab Febbie Ma's

Hi everyone. Hope the colds and flus are getting better and ms is passing for all. I have had a shocking cold/flu that just seems to be dragging on and on. Starting to mend the last two days though thank goodness. Has anyone else heard that it is bad to cough a lot? I get a bad cough when I get sick and I am worried about dislodging bub, as silly as that sounds.

Happyfirst - You just have to keep your heart rate from getting too high and more importantly, don't get hot. Makes exercising very hard! Baby can't control their temperature and they don't like getting overheated. Just be careful about how hard you push yourself. Heart rate is supposed to stay below 140 I think (or is it 120, sorry can't remember now. maybe someone else can help there).

Melle - Hope the scan goes really well today!!!! :hugs: We were thinking about going to the expo on the weekend too, but decided it was just a bit early for us yet to bother making that much effort (4.5hr drive both ways). I am sure there will be other chances between now and Feb. Hope so anyway. Heard the deals are good at the expo.

Mrs O - I am so glad for you the your DH was excited. That is lovely. You did well to hold out as long as you did!

Mumof6 - You poor thing. That must be SO awful to be that sick. I take my hat off to you. As for your MIL   !

Hey, feeling nauseous all the time absolutely shattered. Finally found the time to lay down today and within 5mins DS woke up, so that was the end of that, but completely exhausted. I remember being the same with DS but at least then I could sleep - used to pass out from when I got home from work about 4:30 pm till when Dh would get home, around 7pm. The hardest thing for me at the moment are DS's dirty nappies, I retch and gag the whole time I'm changing him.

My gp wants me to go for a dating scan cause I wasnt sure of my cycle but I'm worried at this stage they'd need to do an internal one and I dont want that. Anyone else know if at this stage (I think I'm about 8weeks) they can see enough without doing the internal one?

Mel

Hi JaidevsMum - I had a scan done at 7.5 weeks and they didn't need to do an internal scan. Mind you it was more due to the determination of the sonographer that she thought that you should avoid doing internal ultrasounds on pregnant women. I'll definately be going back to her! End result is that you should be able to get away with only an external scan but make sure the person doing it for you knows that's what you want - then hopefully they will try harder to avoid it for you.

My m/s has started and it's awful. I feel queasy all day but it gets worse late afternoon and evening. Poor DH and Harry as cooking dinner is the last things on earth I feel like doing. But I'm trying very hard not to complain to much as I have wanted this for so long. I'm trying to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy as I just don't know if I will fall again.

As long as I eat every few hours and don't let it get tooo bad I'm coping okay with it.

JaidevsMum - I had a belly scan at 6 weeks on the dot. No dramas.

Harry'smum - Welcome.

Got my hair done yesterday and it is now orange! EEK. Shall be going back today to see what they can do. Still no real symptoms. Trying to beat off this nasty cold. Wish I felt more pregnant, although I am happy not to have the ms.

Have had a couple of periods during the weekend where I felt fine and then panicked that the baby wasn't there anymore - can't win can you :D

I feel exactly the same - if i'm not feeling sick I think something is wrong. And I have only felt like throwing up 3 times. Have first ob appointment in 3 weeks (i'll be 10 1/2 weeks then). I've read some other posts and people have been for scans earlier. Is it normal to wait as long as I am?

This is my first and I'm still adjusting. Kinda thinking that something might go wrong, just want to get past 12 weeks. Will I feel less worried then? Is it normal to worry? Anyone else feel like this? Most of you sound relaxed (and sick). Maybe I should just be thankful I'm feeling ok.

I feel just..... queasy, basically all of the time. I have no appetite to speak of.
If i dont eat in the morning, i feel awful by abiout 9am.
Headachey, really really tired all of the time... Have left work early today cause im exhausted!

Happyfirst: I'm not having a scan until 19 weeks. I actually believe in having less scans is better as not a lot of research has been done into the long term affects of multiple ultrasounds in pregnancy, so the less the better for me. It's perfectly okay to only have 1 scan throughout your whole pregnancy.

Duchessa
10-07-2007, 02:39 PM
Harry'smum I totally agree. I am a low tech pregnancy person - unfortunately events have confounded my beliefs :( - I hope once the viability of this preg is established I can go back to my low tech stance in peace! Good on you for having trust in your body's ability to do it wihtout being watched from the inside :D

re the early scan thingy, it really depends on your anatomy too. ie if your uterus is slightly retroverted then it may be hard to see the embryo without an internal. Just leave the scan for as long as possible and you are less likely to need one.

Hope you are all coping with the m/sickness & tiredness. Not too long to go now before it starts to taper off.

My first scan i thought i was 7 weeks but was only 5 weeks and 6 days, i had to have a internal because they couldn't see anything, a week later i had another to check for heart beat and that was picked up normally.

Well went to the doctors yesterday and got this organised for the 12 week scan (NT). Gee i wasn't happy, just because he was running a hour behind, i thought i pushed out the door. I have been feeling like ****, which i tried to talk to him about and he just ignored me. So i went and got a second opinion today, i have a really bad sinus infection.

Morning sickness well yeah not sure if it the infection or m/s which is hard to determined. But it seems to be only once a day and first thing in the morning when i have nothing in my stomach.

Feeling very tired, girls have been playing up at night, so not sleeping much with them and coughing 24/7.

6 weeks to DH comes home :smiliedance: (but who's counting)

Happyfirst - It is totally normal to feel worried. I am too. It is hard not to be. Particularly when you don't feel pregnant (I have very few symptoms, well I have had until nausea kicked in today - yeah!!!). Friends tell me you worry all the way through. Pretty natural I would think. Try NOT to worry too much though. I just keep telling myself that there is nothing I can do about it if it is not going to work, so no point stressing about it. Easier said than doen though!

fabulouscazza - welcome and congrats on your BFP.

I am feeling really queasy today. Strange thing to say, but I am happy about it as it confirms that bub is still there and growing. Tiredness hasn't kicked in as badly as for a lot of you. Hello everyone , just touching base and catching up. I love reading how you are all going, and really should jot down notes, as I had heaps to say in regards to previous posts, but gone blank now .

Ill blame pregnancy and sickness.

I went to the doctor yesterday... I'm now having to go to casualty 2 times a day for zofran to help keep down anything. Ive lost so much weight and blood pressure has dropped out. I need 8mg twice a day of the zofran, but it is $36 a tablet here... so that is $360 every 5 days... Going to casualty is a pain but I get it for free... so worth it.

I have a ultra scan tomorrow... It will be my 3rd for this pregnancy so far, but my 1st at the big hospital. There machine is better than the one Ive had the last 2 times, and because of the Hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme m/s) that I'm suffering we have to keep a close eye on how this bub is doing.

My children (ages 14, 12, 9, 8, 4 and 2) have been amazing, and are all helping so much during this time where I cant do much. Im very lucky :)

Those tablets are soooo expensive, but if they work then they must be good.

I've started throwing up which is not good. It's very hard to be sick when you have a 3year old patting your back saying "it's okay mummy, be sick mummy, I'll hold your hair mummy" which Harry was doing yesterday. Anyway it's all worth in the end.

I seem to be having the opposite problem to many of you - I have had no symptoms whatsoever for the past several days and it's really worrying me.

I'm hoping it's just because at 10.5 weeks, the symptoms are easing naturally (and they were never bad to begin with) but I can't help panicking that there's something wrong with the baby and that's why I'm no longer queasy, tired or have sore (.) (.).

Imagine wishing to be sick. I am! :( Can't wait until Monday as I'm having an ultrasound at my OB's.

Let us know how you go on Monday!

Yeah the sick feeling has just stopped this week for me too, Wednesday to be exact (10 wks on the dot).

Luckily for me it only really started around week 7 so I've only had 3 weeks of feeling s*ite.... maybe I've just been lucky to have a very brief stint of symptoms? God I hope that's the case.

Will update on Monday and try not to be too much of a stress-head over the weekend :D

Paula - Goodluck for your scan on monday! Don't think it really matters how much water you drink, as long as your bladder is full without being ready to burst.

Mumof6 - Oh you poor thing. Gee those tablets are expensive. Hope you don't have to take them for too long and this bad bad ms goes away.

NicNac72 - Looking forward to seeing the pictures of your bump. It will be interesting to see how big you get compared to the rest of us with two on board.

Harry'smum - Harry sounds SO gorgeous. What a cutie!

Strawberry lovemuffin - Goodluck for your scan on Monday! Hope you don't stress too much over the weekend.

I am feeling OK today after a couple of days of queasiness. I'll be away for work all of next week, so won't be able to log on. But shall catch up with you all after that. Hope the scans go well.

Hi girls! I have been reading this thread, but I wasnt going to join in until I could post under my real username, but I couldnt wait! :D I will probably start posting under my real username soon because we are bursting to tell everyone our news. Only another 1.5 weeks until I hit the 12 week mark any way.

I am so sorry to hear that some of you are still suffering so badly with m/s! Especially mumof6. Sounds like a pain in the bum having to go & pick up the tablets every day when you are feeling so yuck. It's better than having to pay for them tho I suppose...

strawberry lovemuffin, I know what you mean about having no symptoms. I was feeling really nauseous from day one & then at about week 7 it just stopped along with all my other symptoms. I even convinced myself that I wasnt pregnant any more & prepared myself for the news that there was no heartbeat at my scan. I was wrong of course & everything is fine. I'm sure it will be the same for you. You are just one of the lucky ones to not suffer during pregnancy! Good luck for your scan!

Harry'smum, what a cutie Harry sounds! He is so lovely to be looking after you.

NicNac72, can't wait to see your belly pic! I am really going to enjoy watching your belly grow & the excitement of having twins in our group!

I hope eveyone esle is doing well.

I had another scan testerday. I have a history of miscarriage so my OB allowed me to have another scan inbetween my dating NT scans just to ease my mind. I couldnt believe how much bub has devleoped in only 3 weeks. My first scan at 7w2d was just a little blob in a bigger blob, but this time I could actually make out a baby! I was so happy to see a little heartbeat (170bpm) and a head, body, arms & legs. My mum came with me because DH was working so I can't wait until the NT scan in 2 weeks so he can see bub too!
Otherwise, I have been feeling pretty good. I am really tired & poor DD has been copping a couple of mood swings but m/s is gone so that is good.

Good luck to all going for scans soon!

Hi all,

I'm also still a little ill. No where near as bad as I was though - and I don't need medication.

I have my scan next week. We have told family, and quite a few friends over the past week, but not work. That will wait until after the scan.

I am just soooo tired all the time! Like, I'll have a two hour sleep after work, then be back in bed by 8!

I just want to hear a heartbeat, see a pic, anything! Then I'll relax a little more I think.

This is our first baby and it has taken a long time to conceive!

Yay! Worries were unfounded and all went fine with my scan.

I'm almost 11 weeks and bub is normal and healthy - we even saw little hazy arms and legs wiggling about. I got a wave!!!

So relieved and happy :)

Shhh - your message really helped, thankyou. I'm making it my mission to ease the worries of others who are stressing unecessarily like me about no symptoms. I lost a whole weekend worrying when I could have been enjoying my pregnancy (symptom-free!)

Great news Paula! Yep it's all about the heartbeat - I read that once you've seen a heartbeat it's apparently better than 90% chance your pregnancy will continue to conclusion. Comforting isn't it!

Good luck with your ultrasound and seeing your little ones NicNac - two babies is so exciting!! :)

Sorry to hear that Sonja. The 12 week mark is looming for all of us. Hopefully that will be the end of the m/s for everyone.
My m/s has only been coming & going lately. I am so glad I havent had it as bad as some of you guys. I am really feeling for you!

Good luck with your first appointement paulapoobum! It really does make it seem more real once you have all the hospital paper work & stuff.

I hope everyone else is going ok & morning sickness isnt too bad for you!

Hi Girls,

Glad the MS is easing for some of and hopefully you will all be feeling great soon!

Well I have had an interesting couple of days.

Me, DH, DS and DD have all come down with a virus of fever, headhaches, fatigue, shaking - its been awful. I also had a little bit of a bleed!

Went to hospital and had it all checked out! I was meant to be having a scan next week, but Zane and I got to see our bubba's yesterday!
The bleeding is nothing to worry about and our little bubba's are doing perfectly! *Sigh* Thank God!

We are booking in for aother scan for the first week of September to find out the sex! We are so excited! I can't wait to find out!

MS has completely gone and I have my appetite back and feeling great - besides this virus! *ugh*

Take care

Nic. x

Oh no! How scary for you Nic. I hope you are getting lots of rest & you all get better soon. Good to hear that m/s has gone & you can eat again!
Must have been exciting seeing your bubbas!

I've had bleeding too (twice) during my pregnancy and it's scary isn't it! Fortunately everything's perfectly fine with my bubba too. I scolded it for frightening mummy ! :p

I'm feeling good today too, no nausea at all, just these patches of tiredness at certain stages in the afternoon (in one now... )

Can't wait for the weekend, sleep ins... DVD's... ooh yeah. Anyone else getting a tummy yet? I keep thinking I am but it's maybe just fat. Can't wait until I have "proper" noticeable belly!

I had my first vomit today :crying:

I think it was because I took an iron tablet with my toast, perhaps my tummy didn't appriciate the need for iron.

Oh well, I know its very normal, I was just hoping I would get away with no actual :barf:

On the upside, I felt so much better afterwards!!!

Looks light the light it at the end of a lot of tunnels.

I think my ms has mostly passed. But I had another cold this week, which I'm at the tail end of. I think the colds I've had aggravated my nausea with all the coughing etc, and made the ms a lot worse.

Starting to feel a bit human again.

DS is actually having a nap now. First time in a week or so. He's given up his day naps most days, but I don't mind because that means he goes to bed earlier and sleeps through.

I nearly went and had a scan this week, as I'm already starting to show  and I actually felt some subtle flickery movements last night. Seems way too advanced for 10wks!

So it's possible we're ahead of dates (even though my last period date is spot on), or we're even starting to wonder if we might be in the same boat as Nic!! My Dad is a fraternal twin and there are 5 sets of fraternals on my Mum's side, so we're very aware of the odds. Anyway, that's just speculation and I've decided to wait until our 12wk scan - no point having one unnecessarily.

well my m/s has nearly gone, only one in every 3 days which is brilliant.

I had my 12 week scan today, its amazing how fast they grow in a few weeks. I have posted the photo in ultrasound photos if anyone wants to look.

They have changed my date to the 29.01.08 but i am going to stay in this thread, as i have been given 3 different dates.

The ultrasound went well, heart beat is 153bpm. It was sucking its thumb through the ultrasound, and moving around alot. I get the results on Monday afternoon.

it would be scary to notice any bleeds... glad you are both OK.

I'm still beyond sick... just got back from another 2Lt of fluid via the drip. My kidneys are showing signs of playing up cause I cant eat or drink.... and Ive lost 7.5kg so far :(

I have a thread in the morning sickness area called 'Zofran isn't working... what next?" ATM I tend to update there more... I read here though! Just to exhausted to post much.

I am thrilled a majority of you are feeling better.... and love reading your posts. As soon as I feel a bit better I will join in more.

Hi everyone. Back after my week away at a course. SO nice to be home. Very over motel rooms!

Shhh/dormouse - congrats on announcing your news and your pregnancy. Must be an exciting time. I can't wait to tell more people!

Matilda2 - congrats on your pregnancy. It is such a relief, but at the same time just so hard to believe it has finally happened after so long, isn't it! :yelclap: I think it is only just starting to sink in for me this week. I am finally starting to feel pregnant now.

elissas - What are Sea-Bands? I'm glad you're finally getting some sleep. That must be a relief. Wow, imagine if you had twins!!! No more sleep for you!

Strawberry lovemuffin - So glad your scan went well. What an amazing experience. I can't wait for mine! One week to go. I am feeling really aware of my "belly" already, worrying about it showing through my clothes. I bought some long loose tops in India a year or so ago and have taken to wearing them a lot! Just feel like I am getting fatter, rather than a belly as such. Gosh, I am only 9 weeks tomorrow, so I wouldn't want to be showing yet!

paulapoobum - That is excellent that your scan went well. So happy for you.

MrsLG - Hope your week back at school went well and the MS stayed at bay.

sonlou73 - Sorry you're still feeling yuck.

NicNac72 - How awful about the virus and your bleed. What a scare for you! I am so glad everything is fine and that you got to see your two little ones.

MrsO - At least the MS makes it all more real!

Mummyof2 - Congrats on your 12 week scan. That is great news. And you are out in the open now no doubt. That must be nice.

Mumof6 - Sorry you're still feeling so totally dreadful. Get well soon! Take is easy.

Ella EC - Best of luck for your scan.

Tiredness kicked in for me last week, which was a bit of a challenge when I was trying to sit through a course all week! Queasy most days, but no real MS to speak of, bar a couple of two minute epispodes that passed as quickly as they came. I am FINALLY getting over the two bouts of cold/flu I had, thank goodness.

One week to go until my ten week Ob appointment. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! Time is dragging SO slowly. Bring on 12 weeks!
