I would like to get some ideas, on what i should tell people to get for my soon to be two year old DD for her upcoming birthday.
It is hard enough for us to decide what to get, as she has heaps..
Any Suggestions ......

Gosh, isn't it hard, especially when you have to try and think of things for other people to get. But at least you don't end up getting a whole heap of things she doesn't need...
For Mac's 2nd b-day, i told people sheets for her bed (weird, but she needed some, and she's too little to know any different...) a pretty doona cover, hair ties, brush, that kind of thing, clothes (i just made sure i didn't splurge on many myself ;) ), ummm, there were a few toys she wanted, and a couple of dvds of Hi5, so she was pretty well covered!
It takes a bit of the fun out of it i suppose, but like i said, she gets what she needs and also wants, and theses early years they don't really know any different. I say leave the big surprises and stuff for the older years when they will really get a kick out of it.....

Craft supplies would be one idea. I find they get a bit expensive sometimes and you can rarely have too much. Lots of stickers, some paints and brushes, playdoh, markers (washable!), chalks, an easel if she doesn't have one. I have also started picking up felt board bits and pieces (Lewiscraft has some inexpensive sets). Tubes of sparkles.
Miniature animals - A lot of toy stores sell little plastic animal figurines fairly cheaply, at $6-$10 each. You can never have too many, they will last for years, and they make for good imagination play of farms & zoos.
Simple puzzles, a step up from the wooden board puzzles if she's ready. We got some simple 4,5 & 6 piece puzzles from Kmart for DD for christmas ($6 for a box of 3!) and though she still needs help with them she loves doing them.
Books. You can never have too many and there are some lovely kids books out there.
If your relatives or friends are very keen and organised maybe some could chip in together to get a cubby house or play equipment for outside if she doesn't have one already. And if you have the space.
Note, some of these may be rated 3+ for small parts so you may need to check them. My dd doesn't put things in her mouth anymore so I judge each item myself.

My DD is 2 on Jan 30th and we ahve got her a heap of barbies as she loves them kelly dolls a barbie car and a trike as well as a doll house.. It was fairly easy for us as my DD is such a girly girl! She loves playing with dolls and talks to them etc.. But we have so much already I don't know where they are going.. People have asked us but I think it is rude so I always tell them whatever you want... This way it comes from their heart and I hate when people tell me what to buy for their kids etc!
