View Full Version : Hello! I'm new :)
Hi there!
Just found this site... hope it's ok to join in?! ;)
My name's Tilly and at the moment I live in the UK - but in about a month's time, I'm moving to Sydney (with DH & DD, 2yr3mth)
DH got offered a job in Sydney at the start of December so it's all moving rather quickly (a bit too fast for my liking, if I'm being honest!).
Anyway... hope to get to know some of you - I'll have a look round the different boards on here and see what's what :) In the UK, I visit a couple of different message boards and I'm so pleased to see there's similar stuff over in Oz :)

Welcome Tilly, hope you enjoy bubhub and Aust. How exciting moving to a whole new country. Good luck with the move.
I'm Karena and mother a very curious 21 month old Harry. My DH, Harry and I all live in Newcastle NSW (not the English one), which is about 2 hours north of Sydney. I'm orginally from Syd and spend a lot of time down there seeing friends and family.
Hope to see more of you around the boards.

I really admire you, moving so far away from your home, but this place is a wonderful spot to make lots of new friends, and there are plenty of us here from Sydney and the surrounding areas that meet up regulary, so get posting, i know you will love it here! :)

Thanks for the words of welcome :)
I think DH was hoping that moving me away from the UK would get me off the computer... no such luck LOL!
Will hopefully get on here more in the near future and start getting to know you all :)

That would be great Tilly, we look forward to it :)
you have come to the wrong forum if you want to spend less time on the computer lol this is for addicts only lol :D

Hi Tilly,
I moved from the UK 3 years ago (Milton Keynes) and we settled in Melbourne due to DH having some family there.
We have absoloutely no regrets and love living in Australia.
Hope the move goes well!

Thanks :) We're in Bedford, so not far from Milton Keynes. They opened a new IKEA there last month as well as the biggest Asda in Europe... it's obscenely big
They also have an indoor ski slope with real snow - DH adores it LOL
It's reassuring to hear from another Pom ;)
Tilly
Can you see why we jumped at the chance of moving to Sydney?! LOL
Bedford, Sydney... hard decision ;)
 How can you consider moving when there is a great big ASDA :p
Hello
I'm another pommie...!! I am from London but moved to Sydney 3 or 4 years ago with hubby (who is an Aussie). Despite complaining that motherhood is the most time consuming job in the world, I find I am on bubhub quite frequently!
:)
hey we should start a pom thread :D I hate that word pom lol
ohhh, dm, that sounds a bit like a 'group' to me, you know there is to be none of that sort of thing around here ;) :p
ohhhh poo I forgot about that group thing OK better not lol

Awww, no cliques?!
Well that's no fun ;) :p
No groups? Thats defs a bit boring and totally unscandalous, but I suppose fair enough.
Devon_mouse, I hate the world pom too - its awful....then again I get called Possie by everyone now which apparently is a cross between the two. I just think its an excuse to call me names ;)
Anyway better get back to Emily - its breakie time and I need to force her to eat some of my delicious home made food so she can pull a face and spit it back out at me :p

Hi Tilly, Welcome to the BubHub. I've only been using this web-site for about a week and it is awesome! It really helps alot to talk to other mums going through the same things. Hope you enjoy it too.
Thanks :) We're in Bedford, so not far from Milton Keynes. They opened a new IKEA there last month as well as the biggest Asda in Europe... it's obscenely big
They also have IKEA in Australia!
Thanks again everyone :)
BelindaL - I'm hoping to become a more regular poster once I'm over in Oz myself... it will be great to meet some other mums and know I'm not alone with whatever I'm going through LOL
Jacki - I know.. there are 2 in Sydney.. I went online and checked. DH is despairing of me lol
