HELP..dumb mummy!

Ok I'm going to sound very dumb here but I just need clarification. Firstlly I did a HPT yesterday and got a very faint positive.
I had an AF on the 20th April and then the next turned up on the 18th May at night which made it day 29. That gives me a 28 day cycle doesn't it? If so that puts me only at 3 weeks and 3 days so now I'm worrying my test stuffed up for some reason and I'm really not preg cos even though it was an early HPT would it show that early?
And seeing AF turned up at night..not properly until the next day do I still count it from that day?
Sorry to sound dumb and maybe confusing :confused: But please help!

my cycle was all screwed up this month as well..

My last AF was on the 20th April and we got a BFP on the 21st of May, but when i had my ultrasound it showed i was only 5 weeks and 6 days, when i should have been 7 weeks... But everything looks good on the ultrasound..

When i did the HPT i would have only been 3 weeks as well..

If you are not sure of your dates even if you are, tell the DR that you ain't sure and they should send you for a dating scan..

HPT are really not that good. I say that with the blessing of my nurse who gave me my third test before I kinda believed I was preggas.

Basic rule of thumb is that a test can give you a false negative but never a false positive, so even if it was faint, as mine was on the first go with her medical ones as apposed to the supermarket ones, give it a few days- I know how hard and nerve wracking are those few days?- and test again. Chances are very high you are gonna be a mumma!

Hi girls, i've been ttc for almost 4 years. AF was due on Sat, i've done 2 HPTs on Sunday and 1 on Mon and all were +ve - although the line took between 2-4 mins to show and was lighter than the control line so im not sure if its right, what do you think? How long did your BFP take to show?

I am definitely pregnant ((almost 5 weeks)) and some HPT still don't show up as :bfp: . But since you have 3 :bfp: i'd say you can safely assume you are pregnant - Congrats!:smiliedance:

Hi LiLmIsSy - Im so hoping your right, im dying to get excited but i just can't believe it. I've bought 2 clearblue tests today and i'm going to the docs for a BT tomorrow so :fingerscrossed: that I can stay with you all on this thread.

I've been getting cramps that feel as though AF could start anytime, is that normal? - although i've been like that for a week and a half now!

Anyway, im rambling so i'll go for now and update you again tomorrow! Congrats on your :bfp:

Hi everyone and thanks for the replies. Hubby is going to buy more tests tonight and I plan to do one tmw so hopefully thats a positive as well or else I may go crazy :P :fingerscrossed:

Eve - I would say you are definetly pregnant so CONGRATULATIONS! It is also common to get AF symptoms like cramping etc in early preg which is often why people don't think they are pregnant.

GizmoKel - Did you test this morning?

I done the clearblue test and it was :bfp: , im so happy. Going to the docs this afternoon for a BT just to make sure everythings OK.

Hi Eve,

Its due today the 15th. I'm sure I am preg..I think because I found out so early I'm just worried it won't stick. Going to test again in the morning and if thats positive then I think I will allow myself to get excited!
