Hi all,
My 6 month old daughter is on 2 solids a day and 4 milk feeds, plus a rollover feed (between 10pm and 12am) She used to sleep through to 7 or 8am but now she regularly wakes between 3.30am and 4.30am.

I have to give her a feed at 6am as I go to work and her dad takes over, but when she has been fed in the early hours she wants very little at 6am. I've tried to increase the solids during the day, but hasn't made much difference.

Should I not feed her milk at the 3/4am time and try to resettle?? Any advice would be useful, as I'm feeling quite upset leaving for work full of breast milk!!
Thank you:confused:

Just want to say that you're not alone. DD2 was sleeping through from about 9.30 pm - 6am, but has now started waking anywhere from 2.30am - 4am wanting a feed....or thats what i assume. I have been having sleep troubles with elder DD, so have been feeding her just to get some sleep for us too, but when DD1 started this when she was little i tried to resettle her rather than give in to her wanting a feed.

That may not be specifically what they're waking up for, but they never (well....hardly ever  ) refuse it if you offer....I'd try resettling her, and if she doesn't seem to settle again and gets really worked up, then maybe that IS what she wants?

Sorry if i'm not much help.....:o

Hi Sunshine Girl

You don't mention where you live, but is sunrise a possibility? I live in QLD and it gets light so early it's ridiculous.

I have modified the curtains in nursery as much as possible to darken the room (and still let fresh air in) and have noticed a big improvement in waking times.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks! Both messages give me helpful advice. Actually I think it's time I started not to give in to her, just resettle. I'll try it for the next 3 nights.... hope that's all it takes. Wish me luck!
