View Full Version : What keepsakes can you get a boy?
 there are plenty of nice things you can buy girls for keepsakes such as blue bird bracelet etc. Any ideas what you can get a boy so you can keep as a memory. Is there any jewelery you would buy a boy or not  other ideas

Willow Tree make some nice "boy" keepsakes, little figures, if you like that sort of thing. Some are Mother and Son, Father and son etc

Here is one that my son bought me for mother's day a while back but it could be a keepsake for a boy as a reminder of the special relationship he has with his Mummy :)

Hmm - can't get the link to work - try Willow Tree on Ebay - Mother and Son, but there are heaps of others :)

sorry about that :o
If you google Willow Tree, heaps will come up, some are nice, they are not expensive (hence my son being able to buy one). There are some on Ebay too and are bit cheaper.
My son was given
-several photoframes
-several moneyboxes
the thing that sticks out in my mind - was a gift from a friend of DH (she is quit thoughtful sometimes) ... she got Jack a coin that was minted in 2005. I was really surprised, and delighted that she thought of it!
you could put it with wine (to open on his 21st?) and a paper from the day he was born???
just a thought :)

I got DS a Dinosaur money box and a pewter first year photo frame.
i wish i did get a paper when DS was born i thought of it but it didn't happen
i have a soccer money box which already broke in half when DS dropped it :banghead:
does anyone have anything unusual that is significant to them.

Debster did you know you can call your newspaper and get a copy of the front page. The courier mail charged me $5 incl postage.

I got my son a Silver bracelet, (not a bangle of course), but it was a boyish style and had a beetle charm on it (but it didnt dangle it was like a link to the rest of the chain), so it wasnt girlish at all.....
I dont think its wrong to buy a boy a bracelet...I looked everywhere to find somethig that looked boyish...
But yeah, money boxes, photo frames all that have been mentioned

I was going to mention those 3:laughing: . I just got a list of good wines to buy for the year dd was born, that will cellar well until her 21st.
The coins you can buy in a set from the post office, or from Royal Aust mint site.
I will be buying a ring to wear that will be Cobes' when I die.

st christopher pendent would be a unisex gift
i did the clay handprints for both kids...
also kept ultrasound pics for the photo album and locks of hair..and hospital ID tags
my friends got a blue teddy bear that you could write on, and all my visitors at hosp wrote on it.. very spesh and a lovely keepsake
like the idea of the st christopher pendant.
was thinking a tiger eye stone, saw one as an apple on ebay but from overseas so maybe dodgy. my DS's name Ty, I call him Tiger so thought appropriate, and apple, well he is the apple of my eye.
wine is good idea i think i will do that as can get that year in bottle shops. remember anyone who has this is to keep it laying down for the cork.
Matchox cars - collectible ones like the vintage ones etc. Keep them in the box.

Was speaking with a winemaker the other day, and he suggests it is better to go for screwtops. Just doesn't give the same effect though does it:p Obviously still have to cellar it properly whether screwtop or cork.

My DS has an ID bracelet. Its gold and looks like the mens ones u can buy. He also wears a gold chain with a gold cross but thats more a taditional/religeous thing. I think little boys with jewellery is adorable.

My MIL's partner has collected 28 matchbox cars for DS so far.. he is a mad matchbox collector. He is buying one a week until he is 5 .He thinks they are gonna be worth about $20 g by the time DS is 21
