My DS was diagnosed with lactose intolerance and cows milk allergy when he was a few weeks old. We have him on soy formula atm but what should I put him on once he's off that (at about 12 months old) should I get normal soy milk? What brands are good?

Any help is appreciated!

TIA

The soy formula I had was suitable up to 24 months. Now DS2 has full cream soy milk. Though I have just read a post that suggested that might not be so good after all...

...oh dear.

I think the best thing to do would be to talk to your CHN or GP

Full cream soy milk is fine for kids you just have to check the labels on each as they vary ALOT. My advice is vitasoy soy milky as it's gluten free also and hasn't got any artificial fillers.

But depending of diet he may not need to drink milk anyway. You can get a list of calcium rich foods from any natropath and feed lote of these. Magnesium is much more important for bone development anyway. I've done it and then just had a low allergy formula in a smoothie every other day to make sure.

Sounds daunting at first but a good physician in the key
