Hi Angela
Todd weighed 800grams when he was born. I stayed by his side the whole 5 months, I was able to do this thank goodness for the Red Cross. They provided accomodation for me on the hospital grounds. A very trying time. When I finally did bring him home back to Mackay as the NICU was in Townsville he weighed only 5 pounds and was on oxygen for 8 months. Then we found out he was Deaf. Apart from his deafness he is a very healthy bright little boy. He signs up to 700 words already! Im very lucky to have him.

Wow that sounds like an amazing little angel you have there :D
Dont think there will be anything that will hold him back now seeing as he fought to be here. He obviously is meant for bigger & better things in this world :D
I also have to say how amazing you are going through all of that must have been so hard watching such a tiny babe while feeling so helpless. Sounds like you had great doctors & the likes making sure he kept up his fight !
Welcome to bubhub :D

Hi Alison. I'm also Alison. What a strong person you are to go through that with your son. I'm happy for you that you have a beautiful boy. It's great that he knows sign language already. He must be a smart little boy. My son was 1 month and 1 week premmie. He was in hospitial for 2 and half weeks. He's a healthy happy boy now. Looking back to when they were born you wouldn't think that they were born premmie now hey. Alison:)

Hi there!
Your little boys sounds amazing! My first son Jesse was born 4 weeks prem and weighed 4lb 1oz. He was in the SCN for 21 days and that was so difficult...you never think throughout your pregnancy that you'd be going home before your baby, well the thought never entered my mind anyway.
I've always said that the premmie babies are just that little more special...they are such fighters and they are brave beyond belief, they come into this world so tiny yet have so much fight in them!
It's lovely to meet you and I hope you enjoy bubhub!
It's great to hear that the Red Cross helped you...Jesse and I volunteer for their doorknock appeal every year, he loves to call out "Red Cross calling...money for the poor kids!" - so I'll have to let him know how they helped you for this year's appeal!
WOW! Must be one strong and determined little bubba!!
Welcome to BUBHUB! Hope you enjoy it here:D

wow what a fighter!
Noah was 5 weeks prem and wieghed 5 lb 4. He was in NICU for 10 days. I can't imagine having to have him away from me any longer than that so it must have been extreemly hard for you.
I'm just hoping this little bubba doesn't want to evacuate early too :p
At least I have the knowledge this time round that it can happen, it was a complete shock to me with Noah, I never even thought about him coming early, or having to go home without him.
