I will no longer belong to this group!

Thats right, DP has put in his discharge :yelclap:

I finally get my life back.

Its very exciting but very scary too - we really are starting again from scratch.

You will always be welcome though, Sharvs:D

I remember what that felt like, the fear/excitement of the unknown, though saying that, wasn't surprised when DH wanted back in.

Good luck with it all, hope it turns out perfectly for you both.:fingerscrossed:

Thank you

It's a pretty big step to take. DP is transferring to active reserves so he can still 'play' with toys & fulfill his need to kick in doors but hes also doing reserves so the path back to regular army is easier... lets hope it doesnt get to that... lol

Yep, mine went inactive reserves, but would you believe it took way longer for him to get back in that way...we figured it was because recruiting didn't get the numbers on their books for him rejoining, so nobody gave a rats...

Sharvs that is fantastic news!!! I bet you are relieved - I'm so happy for you!!! :hugs:

You have been through so much this last year or so and have been one of the women who I have looked up to the most - I'm so glad that you have your happy ending :)

Wow - thanks Ally, that really means a lot to me. I cant really remember doing anything other than whinging but I'll take the praise when I can... lol

I am relieved. Its been a long, hard 18 months and I'll be glad when this chapter of our lives is over. It hasnt all been bad - I've seen so much of Australia that i never thought i would see & met some of the best friends i will ever have... its just time for us to move on and be closer to family.

Well Sharv's,

Good for you two!! You guys have been through the ringer in the past 12months and I take my hat off to you, especially you, for hanging in there. It can be the hardest thing to do in dark times.

Don't think you ever truly leave though. Defence life is like an imprint and will be forever with you. Can't think of a better reason for you to stay with the page then. Also to let us know about the trials and tribulations of getting out etc.

You have always been a great contributor, I hope you will stay on for a little longer at least.

Cheers.

That's great news! Pls keep us updated with how it all goes.
I know what you mean about starting again ... I have lots of big plans once DH retires.
