Hi,

Im looking for like minded parents wanting to start a social group in Doncaster East (or near) for me as well as my babe.

About our Son:
His name is Dorian, born June 3rd, 2005. Very active little man. He loves Thomas (any kind of train really), Little Einsteins, Bob and unfortunately, the Doddlebops.

My Background:
I moved to Melbourne from the US in 2000. Married my Aussie dude (Dylan) in 2001, had my little boy (Dorian) in 2005. Sold our house in Blackburn South and bought a house in Doncaster East last July.

I was in the IT industry for a long time, my last position was Intranet Web Developer/Solutions for Hewlett Packard. Hubbie and I decided I'd be a stay at home parent till our children (planning to have one more in the future) start school. I do occasional work as a tech writer/QA, from home, for the company Dylan works. Sometimes I do websites when the opportunity arises. Dylan is a software developer, he works from home most of the time.

We both enjoy philosophy, politics, arts (I love architecture and art history, in specific, furniture, dressings, anything to do with interiors), music and current affairs.

Music:
I enjoy goth, industrial, new wave, some punk, ska, some rock as well as big band. I also like some pop stuff. My favorite group of all time is Depeche Mode. Dylan loves "Classical" music. Dorian, well what can I say? he LOVES "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas, makes me laugh because it is cute, but I do hope he'll grow out of it..

Hobbies:
Cooking, decorating, painting, fine wines (and sometimes not so fine.. :-)) Used to be into French restaurants until we had Dorian, no babysitter (except for mom-in-law, but I dont like to impose), we hardly ever go out anymore.

Dislikes:
People without manners (specially people lacking table manners). Narrow-mindedness.

My Personal Ambition:
To go back to school and do a course in Art History or Interior Design.

Please email me if you are interested in forming a social group.

Hi Paula,

You sound like a very interesting chicky indeed! The music you dig and the job you did seem worlds apart - oops, there's me being narrow minded lol.....I'm a 39yr old mum in Box Hill North with a 4.5 year old Jett. I'm certainly not one "out of the box" either...am a little different to others, am pierced, tattooed and assertive, love a good debate, a good glass or 6 of chardonnay, eating out (everything accept Mexican & Thai), listening to music (all kinds but my fave would be Audioslave - oh that Chris Cornell!!!), gardening, reading here and there, second hand shopping & garage sales & markets, decorating, collecting epic dvd's,picnics....just to name a few things....my partner is in the building industry (drafting, design, costing & supervising) and works in his family business in Camberwell - the family also have a large sheep farm in a little country town outside Kilmore although my partner is definately a groomed metrosexual!!! I've lived here for 3 years and although I've tried hard, found it a little difficult to make new friends, most people are too busy these days to let anyone new in....anyway, if we sound like your kind of family, or you'd like to just hook up for a coffee or playdate, my details are kristyrowe@y7mail.com.
Cheers for now,
Withbunintheoven
