Sheridan recalls contaminated blankets
Textile company Sheridan has begun a national precautionary recall of a blanket contaminated with a carcinogen.
The recall follows tests that show the Sheridan Indulgence blanket, a nylon product primarily sold to commercial customers under the Actil brand, contains formaldehyde at levels ten times the international upper safety limit, Fairfax reported.
The company has already removed existing stock from shop shelves.
According to notices in metropolitan newspapers, 227 of the blankets, sold between February 19 and May 21 in Sheridan's factory outlets, remain at large.
Sheridan imported the blanket from China.
