Hi all...
I have a 15 month old boy, who has just been given Elecare formula. He is rejecting it, I think because the taste is so bad, but I am persevering. Does anyone know how much of the formula I should be giving him, and how often? He is eating other foods, such as vegetables, and fish, but can not tolerate dairy, soy, eggs or some legumes.
Thanks

I'm so grateful for it since I know he's getting his complete nutrition despite a limited diet with food intolerances. He has 4-6 bottles a day (240ml but he can only manage 3/4 strength) as well as snacks and small meals. The dietician who put him on it can tell if he is getting enough nutrients. Do you have a dietician? He drinks it with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar on dietician's advice to help with the taste.
He loves it and asks for it all the time if that is any encouragement.:) Are you giving it to him in a bottle, because apparently it tastes difft than in a cup b/c of where the milk is directed on the tongue as they suck.

Thanks for the info.
I feel as if I am a bit in the dark with all this.
The taste is ... difficult to understand!
I have managed to get him to take it by mixing it with a little rice milk, (rice water) which appears to make it palatable. (although not to me!)
He is currently having 150ml twice a day, which doesn't appear to be much, but he does also eat soups, and fish, so i guess he is doing OK. He is much better since we started him on this. I am hoping to see a dietician next week, so maybe that will give me some more guidance.
Thanks.
