Ok just like the title suggests are you deciding names in advance or are you waiting to decide when bubs is born?? If you have chosen or have some names in mind please share your choices! (if they're not secret ;))

I'll go first!
We are thinking we will be going for a jnr this time as dh has always wanted a jnr, i have agreed to Charlie not sure of mn yet but the other kids have got dh's mns as theirs too so i think we'll go for a different mn for this bub if it's a boy.
For a girl it's a surprise! The name we have chosen is quite different i suppose and we spent a long time researching Philippine Mythology and dh and i fell in love with this name when i was pregnant with the twins but had boys so didn't get to use it.
We will be using Aliyah Marie as middle names.
Aliyah because that is dh's next fave name and Marie because that is my mn.

So who's next???

For a boy we have G****** G******... G****** will be spelt like that as it's a family name that my bro was supposed to have but my Dad took the E off the end so I will carry it down.

I'm still to be convinced on G****** but it is growing on me... It is DF's choice for a boy even though I didn't pick DD's name, she did... I am adamant that a boy will have my Pop's name Can't call my son G****** as it's my brothers name LOL

For a girl - totally stumped!! I don't think I could ever match or better DD's name... Am trying to thinkg of something older and not common, but still beautiful and maybe starting with J - not sure why J but that's the letter in my head, was thinking Juanita, but not at DD's name's standard and DF would never be able to spell that  !!

boy is undecided, but love the names on our list! normally we have great trouble with boys names.
Girl will 99% be Elka. Both loved it for years.
but January still a while away so we will see.... I love Ava, Stella and Adele too!! But pretty sure it would be Elka!!

Thinking about names already!? Are you mad!? I'm only 6weeks pregnant! LoL

DH and I have tossed names around here and there over the past 6months while TTC #2 and there are some we like, but none we've taken into serious consideration just yet, it's far too early. But we will do this time around what we did with DD.

Find out the sex, have 3 top names picked (for both boy and girl incase they get it wrong at the ultrasound) then await bubs to be born, have a look see what he/she looks like, then pick a name!

With DD, DH and I both had our favourite name from the top 3 list for a girl, but we didn't tell each other what it was...turns out we had picked the same one, and it suited DD perfectly :D

With you on this one DragonFly! We have tossed around a few jokingly but learnt our lesson with M - she was dead certain, without a doubt in my mind, going to be Charlise (Charli) Xsara Louise - DP loved it too. But when she was born, we took one look at her and said "Well, shes not a Charli" - it just didnt suit her. So she remained nameless for a few hours until we decided on Mackensie Xsara (pronounced Tza-ra) - and it suits her to a T!;)
Just random names we have not balked at are Avery, Freya and Willow for a girl and Ryder for a boy - Im sure we will change our minds another dozen times before September

funny thing is we did the exact same thing when Isaiah was born, he was definately not an Isaiah and was nameless for a few days everyone called him "the other twin" after a few days we thought about and he looked more and more like an Isaiah so we stuck with it.
Also another coincidence, if ds2 was a girl he was gonna be Charlise Angelina, Charlise was our second choice for a girls name with the twins and we are debating whether to use Aliyah or Charlise as a mn this time too lol.

DH and i picked out our girls name back when we were dating! She will be called Alyssa-Jade - Daddy will call her AJ and mummy's going to call her Ally. Still don't know about a boys name but. It tooks us months to decide on DS's name, and he doesn't have a middle name because it took us forever to get a first name we liked, let alone a middle name. If a boy, i would like Jack Charles. It's the reverse of my Pop's name and Charles was my dad's middle name and i've always wanted my son to have Charles as a middle name but one of DH's brothers names is Charles and he didn't want to have one of his brothers middle names and not the other. So we'll change DS1's name by deed poll to include the other middle name of Daniel (can't call boy #2 Jack Daniel!) :ecomcity: And I still have to get DH to agree on the name. But i'm going to leave it until we find out the s#x before bringing it up.

Oh dear - i hope that rant made sense!

Hmm well we have a girls name that we both like but as for a boys name...... got noooo idea! All the boy's names that we like are either brothers, other rellies, friends, friends kids names etc... you get the picture... just can't find one we both agree on and that's different.

For a girl we like.... Zoe Yvonne (Yvonne was DP's grandmothers name - she has now passed away)

And for a boy, not really sure... was thinking Charlie Neville maybe but Charlie seems to be very popular at the moment and DP has decided he doesn't know if he likes it anymore:rolleyes: . But whatever name we choose, Neville will definitely be the middle name as it's DP's father's name.

((PS - sorry to hijack you're thread))

Well you CAN'T have the first one!! GRRR

*Widget pokes you with a stick*

If people keep using that name DD won't be Annabelle... She'll be Annabelle E in school...

I picked it because it's NOT popular!!

STOP USING HER NAME!!!

Uncommon is how it should stay!!

:o Sorry... You wouldn't believe how many times I've seen/heard the name since I named her!! You never heard it before that!!

hehe widget, its obviously become popular BECAUSE you picked it!

You made it cool and trendy so don't blame me :D

i know how you feel though, its been my choice for about 5 years, and last night i saw a girl in a movie whose name was that and i couldnt watch it!

All those names are lovely ladies! Its very exciting we are thinking Mason for a boy and Tara for a girl, i say original is good too you dont want to be a Kate B or Kate W your whole schooling! I have no ideas for middle names though. its true they definatly have to suit their name so i think names will be the suprise until bub is born just in case we change our minds!

caitcam
11-06-2007, 04:06 PM
kate81 - I looooved Mason, it is top of our boys list too!!! Best part of online groups is that choosing same names doesnt matter, unlike in you "real life" friend groups where it becomes really difficult if you name your kids the same name!!
Obviously you have great taste!!!!!

So true caitcam like when my sister had her first boy my other sister ignored her for ages because she "stole" her boys name. Mason is a lovely name but dont book him into our school ok!

Our names are set in stone and I am sad that I wont get to use my awesome boys name (because Im so sure its a girl) but who knows we might be mad enough to go for #3 in the future! Bub will have 2mn's just like big brother.

Carys Ava Elizabeth
Thijs Morgan Jack

No one is allowed to steal them because like Widge I am aiming for uncommon names and so far Jett is still relatively uncommon (I have heard some people say they know someone who named their kid Jett but it isnt in the top 100 list so still good for me!)

Hi AnnaT - awesome names!

I do know a Jett - he's 7 or 8 now.

How will you pronounce the boys name?

BlessedWithBlue
13-06-2007, 04:01 PM
I have a Jett and although i know it is becoming a little more popular i don't know anyone who has a kid irl named Jett. My other boys are Rylen, Kyen and Isaiah:thumbsup:

Tiptoe - Thijs is prn TYCE like the first syllable in Tyson. Its Scandinavian/Dutch form of Mathew which is DH's mn.

Rachael - ah another Jett well there you go!

I'm glad someone asked how Thijs was pronounced, cause Anna, I have been wondering that for ages now! I just couldn't not pick it, and DH, who considers himself an expert on names (LoL) couldn't get it either, we thought it was Dutch and figured it was pronounced 'Thaise' (like praise) ooops how wrong we were :o

I spent ages trying to work it out too...

Knowing how it's pronounced now - I like it a LOT more LOL It sounded really odd adn out there with the J sound!!

How do you pronounce Carys?? Seeing as Thijs was so different to my thinking!!

I do like "Tyce"...

Don't worry, won't use it, DF and I both like old fashioned uncommon names...

*cept people keep using DD's name now... grrrr never heard it before she was born!!!*

Ok we like Raphael for a boy what do people think of this? Also we arent' european/greek/italian so it's not a family name or anything just like it.

Love your names AnnaT!

My husband suggested Matilda, Millie for short, ages ago and I wasn't sure. Its growing on me now though.

I like Cooper for a boy but DH really wants Darby (don't know if I can do it).

MissSookyLaLa

hey Chelle, i think Matilda is gorgeous! My DH is very very conservative when it comes to names, so I dont have that luxury otherwise Matilda would be on my list!

i am not thinking of boys names yet, but i have my girls name picked out and she will be called :
Sophia Alessia

28-06-2007, 04:53 PM
I think everyone would pretty much know what this one will be called if it's a girl;
Charlotte (Lottie for short!) - tossing up on either Charlotte Helena (my Grandmother's name), Charlotte Anna (my Mum's name) or Charlotte Hania (my Mum's name in Polish).
If it's a boy...I know DH has always had a soft spot for Beau but really, how many "Dukes of Hazzard" names can we realistically have before it just becomes plain silly? At least he doesn't want 'Boss Hogg' I suppose!:p

I have a Jett and although i know it is becoming a little more popular i don't know anyone who has a kid irl named Jett. My other boys are Rylen, Kyen and Isaiah:thumbsup:

Just FYI Pat Cash (tennis player) has a twin son named Jett. Cool name - it was always on our list.
We went for Angus and Ajay. Something old and probably something new I spose! It took us 9 months and 2 hours to decide! Picking our boys names was one of the most stressful things I have had to do! Apart from carrying them full term!

Someone else (sorry couldn't find the post) mentioned the name Darby. Another cool name! Patrick Dempsey from Grey's anatomy has named one of his twin son's Darby.

I have read up on a lot of twin celebrity names - can u tell?

Can't find a girls name we like!!

It's gonna be SO hard to match or better DD's name!!

Boys is set in stone though...

I tried with Geneveve but DF is completely against it...

I like Arabella but can't use it - too similar to DD's name!! It sucks, I can't have anything with an "elle" sound... And most of the names I like end in "elle"...

Was thinking too, I can use my boy's middle name for a girl too - I mean it WAS my Great Nan's middle name!!

And her name had a really nice ring to it... But I can't use that - My name starts with V as well LOL

Back to the drawing board for me - I like to know my names ASAP even though we didn't have a boys name in case DD wasn't a girl - we KNEW she was a girl - before they told us the same!!

Seeing as we both WANT another girl, we should have a name ready...

Widget - I like Arabella too!! ('cept spelt Aribella) DH says it's a no-no though :(

We were actually having fun tossing around boys names the other night, we have no troubles agreeing on girls names and have a huge list that we both like so that will be easy to agree on, once we've narrowed down a top 3 i'll let you all know!

But after going through litterally hundreds of boys names we only came up with 9 that we both agreed on  having said that though, some of them i'm really umm'ing and ahh'ing about. Again all the names I like DH hated!!!

Seriously...what's wrong with Pheonix???

Widget
01-07-2007, 11:06 AM
Fly... Doesn't your DH know that Arabella was the name of a Princess??

He doesn't need to know that she was a Russian Princess LOL

And in that movie with Julia Stiles - the Danish Princess was named Arabella too... You know the movie - the American "Princess Mary" story... I can't for the life of me think of the name!!

Phoenix... I don't mind the name, but as you all know, it's not my "style" for choices...

Hi I have always liked Mia or Mya but hubby has never been keen anyway our friend named there dog mia just when hubby decided if it was a girl he wanted Mya Jayne (that's my middle name) now we decided maybe not so back to the drawing board
