Hi Girls,

I just thought I'd start a thread on maternity wear, i.e. are you buying any yet, where have you got it from etc.:detective:

I have been able to pretty much get away without any until now, as my belly has popped! Jeans have been too tight for awhile now, but I just put a hairband through the button hole. But now my work pants are all too tight so I need to get some plain black pants or similar ASAP. I went looking last weekend, but found that at maternity shops they are so expensive and other places like Target, just don't have any small sizes (I'm a size 8).

So, I 've been looking on line and they are also quite expensive. Luckily the style in tops at the moment means I can easily buy normal tops.

Well, anyway that's my little whinge for today. Let us know what you are doing for maternity wear.

Yup clothes from maternity places are quite expensive. I have been wearing maternity pants since I was 10 weeks. I was so bloated from very early on that I looked like I was 4 months! I didn't fit into my work pants anymore and when I tried to buy "bigger" sizes, it just didn't fit me as I was the same everywhere else, except my tummy!

I finally bought 3 pairs of work type pants and a pair of jeans from Mums n Bubs, but they cost an arm and a leg. I have been buying longer type tops so that they cover my baby bump, but haven't had to buy maternity ones. I was also wearing dresses earlier on when the weather was a lot warmer.

I have to admit that my black pair of maternity pants with the large elastic type waist band is my favourite. It is so comfy and soft....:D

I've been in Maternity pants since about 6 weeks, my other jeans were really uncomfortable and my work pants just didnt fit.

The jeans were expensive but I love them! They are so comfy even when I eat too much hee hee

I have a couple of shirts I bought off ebay but mainly I wear my own shirts with a belly band otherwise my tum gets a bit cold.

Kaybee - try Ebay, I've just gotten some great black stretch pants (bellybutton brand) for $10 inc postage Brand New they retail for $99.. I'm also a 6-8 and Target, Myers etc are all too big for me too.. you just have to be patient tho...

I just bought a pair of Ripe maternity jeans today but they look a bit ridiculous at the moment because my tummy is a bit lame  They're all puffy and I feel like I'm wearing happy pants but I figure they'll look good once I 'pop out'.

I've been wearing maternity pants for a while now because my belly grew really fast, really early. I absolutely hate spending a lot of money on maternity clothes though, particularly because this is my last one so I won't get a lot of wear out of them. My sister gave me a few tops, skirts and pants and I bought a couple of tops on sale at Pumpkin Patch but they're all too big yet. I can mostly get away with my normal tops for now but also got a couple of stretchy maternity tops from K-mart that I can wear now without looking ridiculous. I really need some jeans though so I think I'll have to resign myself to spending the money to buy a decent looking pair of maternity jeans.

KittyLou - I think I'll have to do the same and splash out on some jeans. I live in them in winter on weekends.

Tally - DH suggested ebay too (he's a bit of a junkie) so I will have to check it out.

I bought 2 pairs of black pants from an on-line store last night, around $105 inc. postatge. :fingerscrossed: they fit alright!

A friend here at work is lending me a belly belt thing to make some of pants last a bit longer, seeing as it's only my belly that's growing at the mo.

I feel sooo fat at the moment!! My boobs are now a 10EE and im normally a size 10 in clothes but because my boobs are so massive and ive got quite a bump now i just look like a big blob! None of the clothes I have fit anymore but I dont really want to spend a fortune on maternity clothes either!

Im lucky that its Summer here now so I can get away with singlets and loose clothing.

I got my black pants that I bought on-line. They are great!!! I'm very happy with them..

I have also bought some jeans off ebay. Hopefully they will arrive soon!

A friend here at work has lent me her belly belt today, so that will get me through until I can find some more mat. pants. My belly has popped in the past 10 days, so hardly anything is fitting, I was getting desperate!

Moops - 10EE Wowee! I have only gone up one cup size so far, 10B to 10C. The one bummer about being preg. in winter is it's harder to dress.

I'm cheap :p So have a few pairs of maternity pants & tops I got when pg with MJ....they still fit. Also got a belly band to use this time so I dont have to buy new jeans. Just need some warm tops, its so cold & nothing is warm enough, other than my dressing gown.........can't wear that out of the house

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get hold of the 5-in-1 top. I've heard of it but never seen it anywhere and wondering ig I can only get it on-line perhaps. This is pregnancy no: 2 so luckily I've got my clothes from last time but my tops are all a bit stretched and too casual looking now. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Tiffo, I have seen that Fertile Mind have a 6way top. It's a bit expensive. Have a look on their website.

Well I've gone a bit mad on ebay recently buying stuff. I got some great pants for work and some button up shirts.

Bought 2 pairs of maternity jeans. Both were not quite successful. One pair are quite tight so I don't think they are going to last me long. The other pair are a bit big at the moment but will probably be better later on. Oh well. Still searching for that elusive great fitting, great looking, reasonably priced maternity jean!!

Kaybee, I bought a pair of Ninth Moon brand maternity jeans last weekend and I absolutely love them!! They look just like normal jeans but have an adjustable elastic waist on the inside. Best of all they were only $64.95 so I was really happy. I tried on a pair of YIM ($200) jeans at the same time and DH and I both agreed that you couldn't tell the difference.

Moops - I'm feeling your boob pain!!! I'm a size 8-10 (my bum being the 10 part) generally but have always had big boobs. I'm a 10DD normally and just got fitted for 10E maternity bras. Very depressing!!! The lady at David Jones said that as I get bigger, I may have to have bras ordered in for me because very few brands make a 10F and DJs and Myer don't stock them. I feel like a fat cow!!!!!
