View Full Version : Any Sydney mums or mums to be interested in being friends?
I've only moved to Sydney fairly recently, and I've been having a bit of a hard time with people since falling pregnant. Most of my friends are excited, but they all live too far away to really be able to see. I'm not in contact with any of my family, and apart from my dear partner, I don't see anyone. I go to University, and see some people there, but what I really want is a female who is pregnant or a new mother, who knows what it's like and shares common interests- I just can't get that excited about clubbing anymore! I live in the inner west, but am fairly mobile. If anyone is interested in making a new friend, drop me a line and I'll tell you some more about myself!
Hi HG,
Why don't you hang around Bubhub for a while? You'll get lots of advice on baby stuff and your fair share of trivial conversation too. We've all made some good friends here and we organise social outings together fairly regularly... the best ones are in Sydney of course :p but I'm planning to fly up for the next Brissy one just to check it out and report back. ;)
hi :)
ditto to what cosmic said :)
hanging out here is a guarenteed way to make heaps of wonderful friends, the ladies i have met here are the most awesome bunch of girls ive ever known, and it is great particulary if you have moved to a new area and are finding it hard to meet people. :)

Hey, :)
I'm pregnant due (march 06) with a little girl. I've also moved to Sydney recently and would love to find some pregnant friends or mums.
Im from sutherland shire... msn and email is jessica_harinen@hotmail.com
I've recently finished my certificate in Animal Technology, have worked with a variety of mammals and pets in Zoos and Boarding Facilities and I'm now working on a business in printing and photography whilst starting my family.
I wont go on with too much of my boring life, when will everyone be due with their bubs and hows the pregnancies going?

Hi HG
I'm a first time mum to Thea who was born 29/11/05. I live in Marrickville and moved to Sydney about a year ago, I am kind of in the boat as you as most my friends are either too far away or not really yet into kids as they are single. If you want to chat pm me or email me on ebw12@yahoo.com

Hi HG98,
I'm a first time mother-to-be at the 12/13th week of my pregnancy and am feeling pretty isolated in Sydney myself! Most of my friends are overseas - scattered variously around the globe since my undergrad graduation.
I'm originally from England, been in Sydney for 5 years now and am in the middle of my postgraduate degree in English Literature - I know, it's ridiculous that I came from England to Australia to study English!
I must say, I'm incredibly jealous of all of you who are due sooner than me. I'm so impatient!

Hi Everybody. I live in the Inner West and am a mum to be for the first time. I am from overseas. I lived here before and have moved back to Sydney about a year ago after being back in the States again. My husband is Aussie and one of my friends is also pregnant here, but I am always looking to meet others, especially other mummies to be or recent mummies. This is all new to me and would love to meet others going through it as well.
I am due around the 8th of June.
If you want to chat, please respond to this post or PM.
And I already have two puppies so I was happy to find out it is a boy!

The Sydney Mum's are meeting up next week ... I'm sure they would love to meet you all if you can make it ... I have met up with them twice and they are all really great ladies and their kids are the cutest!
I can't make it this time as I am moving house this weekend and my final inspection is on at the same time:(
Looking forward to meeting you all one day ... Ky
Sounds like there are a number of newbies online that have thus far missed out on the planning and primping and preening that goes down for our Sydney Meet ups ..... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Well I am a mum of 3 (my Geez that makes me sound soooooooooo old!!) and have only yesterday got out of Hospital after having my darling third. Please come along to the next Sydney meet up and help me look after my new born baby born ... cos likely by then I'll be throwing him out the train window for keeping me up all night!! LOL Just joking.
I have lived in Sydney my whole life but am in the same boat as most of you, my friends are interstate or overseas living the "single" life, or they are career women with no interest in babies other than to visit and give back. So PLEASE come along, meet us all and join OUR little group of Nigels.
Congratulations on your third! :)
