Just wondering if anyone else's periods have been weird since having a baby?

I was always irregular before, but always SHORT times between periods (NEVER more than 28 days, often only 5 days between) and LONG HEAVY periods with lots of cramps.

NOW I am REALLY irregular. I can go up to 8 weeks without a period, and when I get them they range from 3 - 8 days. I dont get cramps anymore, but instead my back and legs ache down to my toes! I feel nauseous constantly, and soooo deathly tired.

Anyone else had this? Does it settle down?

Hmmmm, it sounds odd, Kat. Have you spoken to your GP about it?

That sure does sound strange Kat - I'm no help though still waiting for mine to return...

Ive sort of mentioned it to the GP, but she didnt seem concerned.

I'm on Zoloft, Im not sure if this could affect it at all? Ive spent a small fortune on pregnancy tests, worrying I'm pregnant again because my period hasnt showed up! LOL

The PT companies LOVE me, Im sure!

Zoloft SHOULDN'T affect the length of your menstrual cycle. Its a selective seratonin re-uptake inhibitor, not a hormone based drug. The only information that I have regarding its effect on menstruation is in relation to PMT symptoms (ie upping the dose to help cope with them for a couple of days a month) NOT with any affect on the actual length of cycle or quality of bleed.

I'd be going back to your GP and asking for a more thorough investigation, or even a referral to a gynae...

Thanks Tami. I will have to go back soon for another thyroid test anyway, it must be about time to get it rechecked.... so I'll ask her a few more questions then.

Arrggg! The fun and games of being a mummy! LOL
