Cradle cap and weeping sore??

DS2 has really bad cradle cap. It is on the top of his head (looks like his head was grazed and is now scabbed over), on the lobe of one ear and in the crease behind the other ear. The crease behind his ear now looks like it is weeping. Should I be doing something about this or just leave it to sort out on it's own? It doesn't look infected, but it seems to reopen whenever his ear is bumped.

DD had cradle cap when she was 7 weeks old... someone told me to put normal olive oil on it.. but i found that just made it worse and more red. The best thing i found was to put baby oil on it.. Johnson's Baby Oil with Aloe Vera and vitam e .. it's a greenish clear bottle. After using this Zoe's cradle cap went away within 2 weeks.
HOwever if teh sore is weeping i'm not sure if it's suitable.. maybe ask the MHN.

My dd her ears were like this i just made sure i bathed it gently and kept it clean and more importantly dry this should heal it. I did put some paw paw on at night though to help the healing process she also had it under her arms she was a shocker for it (this is for behind the ears only tho not the cradle cap)
What have you been using for the cradle cap?

I haven't really used anything on the cradle cap. I started today by putting some oil on his scalp and brushing it with a toothbrush. When he wakes up I'll wash the oil out and give it a good gentle scrub.

I wish it would just disappear. It looks so ugly. He had acne all over his face for weeks and when that disappears, the cradle cap turns up. It's a pain in the ....
