have their babies in a routine yet? Skye sort of has a routine in the day (she eats/drinks around the same time and just sleeps in between feeds with specific 'wake times') she is in bed (in her bassinett) around 8pm and sleeps until about 12.30-1pm (sometimes earlier) then has another feed at about 5:30-6am. I want to start getting her into a proper routine in a few weeks but shes still slowly learning the difference between day and night.
What I did with Hayley (to teach her day and night) was only put her in her bassinett at night at the same time (after bath, bottle etc) and have the room dark and quiet (though the tv was on-she was in our room for the first 3 months). I am hoping to do the same thing with Skye.
Hmmmm - routine? Well if you can call flopping my boosies out at all times of the day and night a routine, then I guess I have one! Or perhaps it is more of a leaky strip-tease kinda routine... :o :D
Seriously though, every time I think Asha is getting into the swing of regular sleeps and feeds, it is different the next night. So at the moment I am just expecting the unexpected and sleeping when I can.
You sound very organised!

Sort of... she is settled anywhere from 9.30pm - 11.30pm, closer to 11.30pm last few days.. she sleeps a solid 4-5 hours. Wakes for a change, feed and burp then is settled again by about 4.30am - ish. Back up by 7.30 am for a lil feed then she sleeps in until after 10am. Then she stays awake for a few hours so we have a bath and a wakey time till she settles by around 2pm and she wakes up around tea time, may have a lil nap before bedtime.
My DD is 8 weeks old tomorrow and is all over the place, thought we had a routine a few weeks ago, but it changed. I have been reading up on routines, Save our Sleep, Contented Baby and just today have read Dr Sears Baby Sleep Book which is totally the opposite. I thought I might let her do her own thing for a few days and see if anything is consistent. At the moment though she is on 3 hourly feeds during the day and 4 hourly at night. .
The only thing is the 3 hourly during the day, after I get her up change her nappy and feed her, we usually only get about 40 minutes at the most play time before she goes to sleep for another 1 - 1.5 hours. I'm not sure if this is considered normal, but she wants to sleep so there is not much I can do. However, we are having alot of trouble with settling.

I find that Ebony 7 weeks now has a good 2 hours wake time after feeds, which is not so good at 3am in the morning LOL Any ideas how to cut this wakey time down during the night feeds?

Skye slept 8 hours last night, woohoo!!! (11.30pm to 7.30am) I am so happy, she must have been really tired, I don't want to speak too soon though. I was expecting her to wake at about 5am, she did but only grizzled for about 30 sec and went back to sleep. During the day she feeds about every 3 to 4 hours with about 40 minute to an hour wake time after, the afternoon is when shes awake the most.

Dunno if id call it a routine... but Calebs mostly awake during the day with feeds and small sleeps of max 2hrs... then he has a feed at about 730-8ish depending on how much he drinks hes either :
-up at 1130-12am for a feed then goes back down straight after till 430am
-or he sleeps thru till 430am has a feed goes back to sleep till 7am when wakes and is smiling and laughing... so cute!

I love anything by the Sears Family Library. I have the baby book witch I couldn't have survived without.:)
Squigs isn't into a real set routine. We do however give her a nice warm bath around 5:30 then a nice big feed then its of to sleepy land till shewakes up for her next feed witch could be at any time after 10:30
Daytime feedsare usuly 2 hours apart, but can be longer. It depends on her.

Nope, far from it. I would have, if I didn't have to wake him up about 8 times a day to get in and out of the car. :banghead:
I thought I'd be smart the other day, I went out while he was awake, only planning on being 20mins. He fell asleep while I was out and woke up when we got home and wouldn't go back to sleep. argh!!!!!!!
But at night, he goes down at around 7ish, wakes at around 2 and 5, then again at 8am. So he ahs a night routine, just no day one.
