Jesse started 3 year old kinder last year and absolutely loved it! Towards the end of the year he was wanting to go more than the 2 days he normally went and I found it difficult to occupy him for the days he didn't go. He loves other kids and is quite popular (phew, that was a load off!) This year he is in 4 year old and every morning he asks me when kinder is starting again...he can't wait. He will be going for 3 days a week, and instead of 2 hour sessions he will be there for 4 hours. Don't worry about the toilet training, the teacher and assistant will be used to 'accidents' happening, especially when it's all very new and there are heaps of children to play with, there are sometimes better things to do than go to the toilet! I'm sure Ethan will be fine. I love it how kids just all make friends at this age, and in Jesse's case, anyone who is standing within 5 feet of him is his 'best friend'! It's adorable.

carlyb thanks for the advice i hope things will be fine. how sweet that your son makes friends so easy. Ethan will have kindy which is 4yr old and that is 2 1/2 days a wk. one full day later on in the first term and 2 1/2 days.
Rachel I am sure Ethan will love kindy and make lots of friends. The teachers are very good at teaching children to use words not their hands and his social skills will develop there.
Don't worry too much about the toileting. Lots of kids have accidents so long as he has clean clothes he will be fine. Sometimes the kids can be so engrossed in what they are doing they forget about the toilet. The teachers are used to this and a good kindy will handle it sensitively.
My daughter is starting kindy on 2 feb too and can't wait. Just build it up as much as you can so Ethan is really positive about it and he will be fine.
Hi All,
My daughter is too young at the moment for kindy, but I am interested in sending her to 3 year old kindy. Is it true that you only get one free year of kindy?
