invitations

DS is one next month and we want to make invitations that are a little different to the usual ones...any ideas from those creative bubhub minds??

We have used phoos of him in the past for christening etc.... It is an informal get togther basically for cofee, sangers and cake...... :)

How about having the invites shaped like say a teddy bear or train for example then make up a little poem which invites everyone to come along for the celebrations !
Sorry im not any good with poems & im probably not much help as im trying to come up with ideas myself !
Im usually really good my friends ask for help & so does my family but since having bubs ive lost my knack :(

Ok heres an idea:

Go to Rabbit photo and they do these cute postcard type photos with little pics etc that say "Look who's a year older!" they are soo cute and you can add a personal message.

Then type up th details for the party on some nice paper stick it on the back of the postcard photo (I think they are 50c each to print), laminate the whole thing and stick a magnet on the back......so people can put it on the fridge :)

Its a little bit of effort but it looks awesome and everybody will love having your bub on their fridge!

You could make up a little verse, or even just sentences of all the wonderful things that bubbie learnt to do in his/her first year of life. With the party details in one corner of the invite. I really like it too, when you put little confetti or those little numbers etc in the card and when it is opened all falls over your lap etc.

I just found the other nite a lady on ebay who does personalised cards say for baby's arrival & the likes she uses litle verses etc maybe you could even have a look at her stuff & see what she can come up with ?
