My DD had her Chicken pox vaccine 11 day's ago.

On Friday she started getting high temperatures and on Sunday (day 10) after immunisation she started to come out in a rash.

She is now covered in a fine rash all over her body with some larger pimple like spots mainly on her face.

The doc said when she had it that it could cause temps and a rash between day 7 and 10 however I got the impression it was only localised, and would look blistery.

I had a locum out last night but he said it was a virus - couldn't put a name to it. I'm going back to FDoc this afternoon to see what he thinks.

Just wondering if any one else has had experience with this.

P.S. I'm not trying to blame the immunisation as I am all for it, just trying to work out what the rash is.

Thanks

Vanessa

Sounds like chicken pox, seems to me like the vaccine did its job and thats to give your daughter chicken pox seen as thats what was injected into her.

Your daughter would be the 8th case ive heard of in the space of a year of a child getting the chicken pox roughly 11 days after the vaccine.

Interesting:detective:

Just thought I would update our situation.

DD has Roseola. Finally got into own FDoc this afternoon. Monday the doc (not normal doc but from same practicesaid it was just a virus, but didn't know what it was - took her back today because it keeps on coming and going. Evidently it is hard to diagnose beause of that reason and many people just get the high temperatures.

Supposedly it is really common in 6 to 18 month olds.

Definately not chicken pox though. (rash is nothing like it)

Oh well she got a week off for it.
