Hi everyone, im just concerned with my 9.5month old son. For the last week he has been spewing heaps. He doesnt normally do it and its really worrying me. After every bottle and in between bottles there's spew everywhere. Why would he be doing it? How can i prevent it? Has it happened to you? I look forward in reading your replies.

tyler is a very spewing bub,, i've taken her to the doc many times,, my doc told me after every bottle sit her upright for at least 15mins,,, try not to let him run around or diver to soon after his feed
also she told me to have her sitting up when giving her a bottle,, even if she starts goin to sleep,,, i still have her sitting up right,, it works she still does spew bit no wear near as much....luck luck with it:)

i meant good luck...lol
If he has just started spewing at 9 1/2 mths I would take him to the Dr just to get him checked out.
Both my kids had reflux and spewed up until they were walking but for a bub to start spewing at 9 1/2 mths does not sound like reflux to me.
Has your little boy lost any weight in the past 2 weeks?
I would take him to the docs too. Both our boys were very spewy babies, spewed all the time. I even got to the point of taking a change of clothes for me when we went anywhere...
Take him to the docs they can at least rule anything serious out and tell you that there's nothing to worry about:)

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yeah he has lost 1 kilo since he started spewing. He also had diarrohoea last night, with a fever this morning. He looks a lot better now then he did earlier this morning. I gave him panadol which allowed him to get back to sleep and reduced the fever. Ill try and get him to see a doctor today but i dont like my chances.

Sound like some sort of virus. Poor little thing:(
Just make sure you keep some fluids up to him ( hydrolyte iceblocks are great) so he doesn't dehydrate.
A wet face washer I find helps a lot when they have a temp.
God luck I hope your little man is feeling better soon

Hi there
My daughter gets sick out of the blue like that every now and again. Every time the doctor says its probably just a virus just keep the fluids up.
As worrying as it is, go to the doctor and let them check that there is no ear infection or anything like that just to be sure.
Thats what my doctor always checks first and then ticks. (we get bush ticks up here really bad) been lucky so far
If its any consolation, no child will allow themselves to starve.
If you tell the receptionist that your baby is unable to keep their food down and running high temperatures they usually say bring your baby in now and we will slot you in. I've never heard of a doctor that says they are too busy. Maybe I have just been lucky.
Good luck hope its nothing long term

My daughter did this too at 9 months, she had problems with solids and in the end she was vomitting at everymeal for about a month. It all spiralled when she spiked a temp at 39 and we ended up at the doctors, she vomitted all over him as well:D . At least he believed me and the extent. It was a virus that came to fruitation and finally subsided along with the vomits. There is a nasty gastro going around so taking him to the doctor and especially when he has dropped weight is a good idea. I hope everything is ok.

Yeah doctors sounds like a plan if your able to get him there otherwise maybe the hospital (?) they will also push him through before others.
My bubs had a virus last week & it was horrible first time he has ever been sick besides a cold through winter nothing major i was at a loss & didnt know what to do he ended up vomitting over me for 2 days which wasnt fun lost weight etc. He got put onto antibiotics not that im a huge fan of them but by this stage we needed something to help him so with that in place & a larger dosage of neurofen to pump his system up to help fight it he did still took another 3 days or so & he was back to normal.
As the others said the main thing especially as he isnt keeping anything down & is also losing it out the other end is to keep those fluids up !
As my doctor said try anything & everything which i did so luckily bubs decided even after never liking it before that apple juice was the go this was given in small sips every 10-15mins & then when he even refused that he got put into the bath as this would help bring his temp down as well as help his body absorb fluid through his skin. Oh & he would sometimes suck on the facewasher so would get another few mouthfuls of water. Thats your main aim atm with him being like this dont worry about food thats not the problem its the fluids !
Hoepfully your bubba feels better soon :)

Just a suggestion about keeping fluids up to sick children, my daughter loves sucking on small ice cubes. Will eat them for ages. She also loves slurpies (sp?) and even though they are full of sugar, they are great when you are fighting with them to keep their fluids up.
Good luck and i hope he is feeling better soon.
