I have had serious hip problems throughout my pregnancy, however now its running all the way through to my legs and is really painful. Can anyone recommend some relief, exercises etc?

Thanks ladies :o

Alternate ice packs and heat. Heat relaxes the muscles and ice reduces the swelling causing the pain.
Just a tip with the ice pack - wrap it in a wet tea towel before putting it on otherwise you may get ice burn.

I have to lie down on my side and slowly stretch my leg out. It is incredibly painful, but helps.

I also see a chiro every two weeks which is a great relief.

I absolutely agree about the heat packs:thumbsup: I also found not lying down flat (even on side) and elevating myself to semi seated to sleep helped for me - but I am not sure if that would help you:confused:

Oh Holz, just remembering how bad the hip pain was. Felt like they were popping out of place!

:hugs:

Have you tried remedial massage? It works well in relieving some of the pain. But make sure you see a Therapist that is trained in Pregnancy Massage. I hope it gets better for you soon.

i had it with my first. it was painful and made me feel as though my body was not strong enough to support my full term pregnancy body weight. on the night before i gave birth, it was at its worst and i could only walk if i was using any wall i passed to support me.

i just put up with it. wished i'd known about bubhub in those days - so i could have done something about it.

Hey Holly,
i got relatively instant relief from a masseuse. what worked was trigger point therapy. it is a really good investment, although as others have said, make sure its a pregnancy masseaus.
