Hi all,

I just found this site and it all looks very interesting! I am 22 years old and due to give birth in May. I am starting to get a bit worried as to how I am going to cope with it all at the moment. If anyone has any advice or anything, I would be grateful!

Thanks,
Saara

hey you will do just fine! when it comes down to it all you need is a cuddle from your baby and you can do anything! I don't know what your situation is with the father but if he wont be a part of the raising of your baby then he is not worth your worries. But, still remember, if he wants to see his baby, it is the best for baby to have some contact with dad ( I missed out for 15 years and I was heart broken and felt like he didn't like me). There are so many mothers out there that do it alone and they get all the joy and rewards, especially as they are the ones who see all the first steps, smiles and hear the first words. No one can give you the feeling that you will get from that, but your baby. Don't think about what you don't have, appreciate what you DO have, and remember you are lucky to be who you are (Mummy!) no matter how bad things get. It is very daunting when it is "looming" but just take it one day at a time and don't ask yourself "when will I get some sleep?" tell yourself that everyday brings you closer to the day that baby will start to sleep through. One day at a time. This little baby is going to be entirely dependant on your love, care and strength and thats all you need to make it through.:o

Hi,
Thanks for all the welcomes! I think I am addicted already! I have checked out the single parents forum and that was a real eye opener! I don't think I realised that there were so many single parents out there. I'm due on 13 May, less than 17 weeks to go!:o (if it comes on time - which I have heard most first babies don't).

Hello, welcome.

I have had a couple of people say to be, its easier to be single from day one, rather than getting used to having a partner there, then all of a sudden something happends and you're alone.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it here.

Congrats on Expecting baby in May.
