Thanks guys.. :hugs: I was proud of my work..

It wasnt hard.. just time consuming to pipe the icing..

i showed it to DH and he said he'd do the piping for me :) and my icing isnt as fluffy, so he said he knows how to do that too.... why did it let me struggle last year!!!!

i can pick up a round shape in your picture for the body.... did you cook another circle to cut for the tail or what?

wondering if i should turn the little cupcakes i was also going to make into jelly fish instead of more fish.. like your cake elfin :):) but minature.. haha

I used a large square slab of sponge cake..
Printed of a picture from the net (made it larger in size) and cut it out.. Layed it on the sponge and cut around the outline.. So its just one piece.. But you could use a round cake then add on the other details i guess..

I then used a toothpick dipped in a little bit of natural food colouring to mark out the shapes of the fins, different coloured areas on the sponge.. so i could see the different areas and what i needed to ice what colour etc. then went ahead and iced it..

You can get a large roll of licorice (like strap a metre long) and i cut it into thinner strips to outline the detail (you could use Black icing) and a marshmallow cut in half for the eyes..

The "ocean" in just some blue lollies from my local deli i cut up..

Hope that helps :hugs:

Feel free to ask me any more questions you may have..
