On Mondays we have playgroup, on tuesdays we have active kids (kindergym) for one hour, and on Fridays we go to our friends and self teach our kids to swim. But need more stimulation, toddler gets totally bored at home, but don't have heaps of money to go anywhere extravagent. Ideas would be great???? Bailey is 2 years 7 months and Tyllee is 8 months. Tyllee is easy to cope with, goes along with whatever, and is amused anyway, but not her brother. Likes energetic things more than having to sit and listen.

you could get your kids involved in doing things you would normally do during the day. for example, if you're doing housework you could give them something to do to "help mum". it probably won't keep their attention for long, but you could make it more exciting (for you AND your children) if you make a race of it (who can make their beds the fastest?) and then let them know that "once we get all this done, we'll make a trip to the park etc etc". it sounds kind of dorky, but i loved having races with my mum when I was little - we used to race each other to see who could get the doona's in their covers first without twisting them around and making a mess of it! To this day, I race my husband to do the same thing when we're changing the sheets on our bed!! Dorky I know, but hey.

Another good thing (thats free) would be - get to know your local library! They usually have great kids sections, some have planned kids activities/workshops.

Oh! And the playdough thing is great too!! Just a lot of cleaning up after.

ANNNDD..I always used to love cooking with mum and dad. 'Specially when I got to lick the bowl after making a chocolate cake!

Heres what I do when O is bored lol I take him across the road to the park and let him run around, play soccer, cricket(as they have cricket nets there), basketball (well I have to help him with that one hehehe his a little short!)

After about 30-40mins O is totally exhausted :D yes his a year and a half younger then your little guy but trust me O is the energizer bunny when it come to the "active child" label :p he just keeps going and going.......
