My 15wk baby boy goes to daycare two times a week and they have told me that when he is sleeping he sometimes stops breathing for longer than usual then takes deep breaths then short breaths then stops again. I thought that when they are young this is common. They said that he should be breathing more evenly. Can anyone give me any advice etc.. He is due to go to the doctor in two weeks but should I go earlier? He sleep through the night so it doesn't wake him up. His monitor has gone off twice when he was a few weeks old so at daycare and at home his monitor is always on when he is asleep.

Hello Rochelle ,
If your daycare centre noticed it & felt that they should let you know ,then i see that as a reason to get it checked out asap ,you can never be to careful ,hopefully all is fine ,let us know how you get on .

I agree, I would get bub checked. It is probably something that can be easily fixed, or may be nothing to worry about at all.
I would just prefer peace of mind.
This may be sleep apnea. My son had it but at an older age due to enlarged tonsils and adeniods. When they were removed he could breath properly when sleeping. His was obstructive sleep apnea.
There is also central sleep apnea. They would have to put your baby in a sleep clinic to test for it.
Here's some info:

I'm glad to hear you have a monitor.
All the best hey. I know how worrying it can be.
