Hi All,

Looking for some advice on how to start introducing bread to my DS's diet...

Do you just give the crust or the soft middle??
Do you put anything on it??

Thanks in advance

Hi there

When Andrew was about 8 months old I introduced him to toast. Basically he just gnawed and sucked at it, didn't really "eat" it. WHen he was finished playing with it, I would give him his usual cereal for brekky.

At about 10 months he started to actually eat it, and now I regularly give him raisin toast as a snack, just plain no butter or anything. He absolutely loves it!

I gave him a vegemite sandwich today for lunch to nibble at, crusts and all, I just cut the sandwich into manageable strips, big enough to pick up but not too small. He had a good go at it! When he was finished, I just topped him up with yoghurt.

I think toast is easier to start off with until they learn to chew properly, as it doesn't get as gluggy in the mouth, IYKWIM.

HTH :)
