Josh is sick :(. He's got a snuffly nose and a nasty cough. It's just a virus and he's still smiling, but it's hard to hear his cough continually coming from his room. Poor baby. No wonder he was grumpy on Wednesday and so sleepy yesterday. Mother's Group was meant to be here on Monday, but it doesn't look like that will be happening. :(
We got given a whole heap of pooh bear feeding stuff from my MIL, but I won't be feeding josh til 6 months, so I've still got 6 or 7 weeks to think about it.
Yaaay - operation poo finally worked!
I ended up giving Gigi a bit of pureed pear (which apparently softens poo) last night as well as the prune juice earlier in the day. She did a biggggg poo this morning. I actually gave her a bit of rice cereal for the first time at the beginning of last week and I was pretty sure it gave her a pain in the tummy, so I stopped after 2 nights, and am sure that was the source of the constipation. I read in Baby Love that it can cause constipation, so I am going to give it a miss for Gigi and just start her on fruit and veges regularly when she is 20 weeks.
I actually read in one of my books that after rice cereal you should introduce pear, and then mix it together as rice cereal does leave a lot of babies constipated. Maybe something for those of you thinking about introducing solids to look out for.
I think I might go shopping today and look for some little containers to freeze and cart food around in.
Feeding utensils - For the few solids meals so far, I have just used her bunnikins bowl and a pigeon plastic spoon. We were given a silver spoon from Tiffanys when Gigi was born - wonder if we will ever get to use that? Maybe when she is a bit bigger and has some teeth? I am all for using good stuff - am not one of those people who puts their good stuff away.
Have a good day everyone.
Elle xx
ETA: Mim - hope little Josh gets better soon, poor little mite.
Hi everyone,
DH is having a couple of days off so having a lovely time! yayyy... he even came to Nursery Rhymes and coffee with some girls from Mothers group yesterday - it's so nice for me for him to see what I get up to!
We've had a couple of sleepless nights - liek NO SLEEP... LITERALLY.. ala 2 weeks old.... so last night we try leaving her in the cot and patting and she cried and cried for 3 hours so we ended up crying too and picking her up and rocking her and she was asleep within 20 minutes... slept til 7. arghargharghargh
We've been slowing adding some things to the rice cereal but she hates it all... we're going to persist with the banana... I think the sweet potato was probably too strong for her.... good hint about the pear - I think we'll try that.
Re; feeding bowls... we found the expensive suction one annoying so we're just using tiny tupperware containers. heaps better.
I keep forgetting to tell everyone my breastfeeding story from ANZAC DAY!! Can you believe it....
I was sitting in a park while everyone went to get an icecream on the Rockingham Foreshore.. (feeding her) and these 2 dero rank fat ******** walked up to me and said "hey love we're here for the show!" WHAT THE... I was shaking when everyone returned.. I know they were just joking but I was seriously traumatised. (well, i can't hav ebeen that traumatised because it's takien me over a month to remember to tell you!)
Hi all, I'm so excited that it's finally June!!! I love winter and the cold in general; not that it's cold yet in sunny old Brisbane.
So welcome to winter!
Things here are going fine; or should I say were....UNTIL DH decided to be the proud dad and take Audrey out last night. I already had a beautician appnt....thank god the hair on my legs was starting to take on a life of it's own.....and he was going to stay home....
basically he forgot about this and planned to go to the gokarts with a group of mates....he decided that he should still go and just take Audrey with him...obviously not ride the gokarts but go and watch and introduce Audrey to everyone........YEAH... LIKE THAT WAS A GOOD PLAN!!! As it turns out she was pretty good, slept when she got there and then woke up completely freaked out...didn't know where she was, it was bright, noisy and of course no mum! DH tried to feed and she wasn't having a bar of it...so long story short..they came home and she ended up getting fed at 9pm!!!!!!! Crazy when her last feed is usually 6:30/7....so today she is just grumpy, woke up early at 6, didn't sleep properly this morning....grumpy, whingy.....
Sorry for the big vent but sometimes blokes can be really dumb when they are actually trying to be helpful!

Welcome to June, nearly half way through the year all ready, our bubs will be 6 mths old before we know it
Had a good night, didn't have to get up to R at all and he woke at 7.30am, he went back to bed an hour later until 10am so that's when our day started  . He had a blow out in his nappy this morning, it was a huggies one too. Doesn't normally happen but I had to change just about everything on him  I hope this isn't a sign that we need to go to the next size up!
I'm sitting around waiting for removalists to come and move the pool table out to the garage (we have re-arranged the furniture in the house). I hate it when they can't give a definite time. Right now would be good as R is asleep and it's not raining (yet). I wish they would hurry up as I want to go to the shops this arvo too.
Thanks for the tips on feeding bowls, I hadn't even thought about buying those yet but I suppose I should if we will be starting solids soon. My friend (who has a 7 mth old) told me about a book she bought with recipes and guides to starting solids and what to give them etc. It sounds perfect for a 1st timer like me! Anyone else got one?
What's everyone's plans for the weekend? we are getting R's hands and feet bronzed tomorrow arvo, and on sunday we hope to catch up with our friends who had the new bub recently. The weather is going to be cold and horrible in Melb, winter seems to have come quickly.

Poor Josh, having just been through that fully understand! so hope hes well soon :hugs:
I actually add pears to the rice cereal anyhow, more taste imo. Watch out for bananas, had just started adding them instead of the pears to the farex 2 days ago and hit constipation yesterday! So am holding off on those a bit longer. Hoping the infants friend and some water last night gets her back to normal today sometime.
Cordelia: How horrible of those drunken sods! Glad it didnt affect your bfing in public. xxx
Hope you get some better nights from now.
Tried the sweet potato with regular potato? I just add a little for taste with potatoes now for a change.
Cate, poor dd, hope shes settled back into things today. Am sure he wont try that again in a hurry lol
cheeki: LOL isnt that phase where everything goes in all holes and crevices just lovely, hope you dont find any surprises.
Hels WOW what a great sleep!!! Ours has improved a bit too lately, now we get till between 7-8am instead of 6-630am, so am wrapped too but not as great as your 10am.
Youll have to show us a pic of the bronzed feet etc, sounds wonderful!
No plans here much, have been out nearly every day and my spine is playing up so need a rest!!!
ds1 will want driving lessons in the new car no doubt * insert stressed face here * LOL the fact its twin turbo and so much grunt doesnt help!!
Now where was my Valium to take before then  just kidding...
long w.e but dp working monday for the extra $ which will be great!
Better go, lunch and feet up time!

Cordelia...hope you get some sleep soon. Have you tried the flavoured rice? TJ wasn't doing well with solids with the plain rice (even with cooked pear mixed in), but in the past couple of days I've used the pear and banana flavour and she loves it.
Cheeki...LOL at the thing up DS's nose. DD1 has had a tiny gumnut (had no idea it was there, it was so far up), blew it out one day. Also recently had a bead up her nose, this too came out without too many dramas.
Another 8 hour sleep last night, :smiliedance: . Hope ti continues.
A question: last night when I checked TJ before heading to bed i could smell she had a pooey nappy. As she was only a couple of hours into her big sleep I left her. I wondered if this made me a mean mum and what everyone else would do in this situation.
Have a great weekend,
Lisa

Hi all
Cheeki - Completely relate. Its almost fun to see what they will do next. Hope he gets over it quickly.
I was go to say the same as Tabby be careful with banana. We always had trouble at the start because of constipation.
Mousebrown - I must admit I have been guilty of doing the exact same thing. My theory was if it is bothering her she will wake up and let me know. I think you are certainly NOT a mean mum.
Tabby - Take care, make sure you go and have a rest up. A PROPER ONE. Take a cuppa and relax.
Cordelia - Its amazing what some people think is funny or amusing. I find that incredible. I can only imagine how you must have felt at the time.
Hels - What a amazing sleep. Hope it continues for you. I have tried to put a picture here od Sienna and her bronzed feet. :fingerscrossed: it works. Hope all goes well with Reece and his.

Hope that works. I am so happy with the results.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Victoria - The feet and hands look great, lovely photo too. That's exactly what I am after but in blue (of course).
I was going to go to the same place in Dingley, but one of the Feb girls has been waiting 7 weeks for hers to be ready, I thought it was a bit too long. I am going to Twinkle Toes in Hastings instead.
Mouse - I have previously left R's nappy change in the morning as after his 7.30am feed he usually sleeps for another 2 hours. Not sure if I would leave him over-night though, I think he would certainly let us know about it anyway lol

Cordelia - I think a moderator closed the May thread and lumped a few of our posts under your name. V confusing!
Hels - I have a book called "baby & toddler food" which is published by Murdoch Books. It is quite informative and has some great recipes. There are probably dozens of them around though. I think they are a good idea for those people wishing to make their own food and not buy the commercial baby foods.
Us - Gigi cranky pants this afternoon (as refused to go down for afternoon nap) but now fast asleep. Am currently enjoying a glass of red. Leftovers for dinner tonight. Yaaaaay weekend - get to have some DH time!

YAY!! Geoffrey had his first proper bottle y'day...some of you may remember that we have been trying for a while with the bottle, with no success...anyway, I had to go out y'day morning and G was asleep after i had fed him. Dh looking after him, i said feed him some banana when he wakes up or try the bottle....not sure whether he was just so desperate, but he took 60mls gulped it down...then fed him some more when i got home...had another 60mls and bit of booby and then later another 60mls...so happy as i have finally got my date for going back to work, it is the 16 July and DH will be looking after G.
i am still waiting to hear on whether they will accept my request to work from home 2 days per week, will keep you updated.
mouse - i have left G before in nappy, it does feel a bit naughty, but its hard b/c he completely wakes up then and i agree, if its really bothering him, he will wake up!!

dont know where my post has gone.... oh well. sorry no personals i just read through pages and pages and forgot who said what!
we have had a great day. Clea can sit by herself as of this afternon, now all she wants to do is sit. :yelclap: i have a small blow up pool that i have started bathing her in and now that she can sit up she loves it. she splashed and giggled everytime her face got wet. all i had to do was balance her a bit for when she tried to eat her feet. it was amazing to see her sitting in the bath. up until today she has been quite a serious little thing. she smiles but hardly laughs, now she can sit up she is laughing as well.
clea has been on my boob for over an hour now. the siting must have exhausted her and made her very hungry.

Hi
We are back from our hols in Geelong. Long car trips - flying was much easier. Had a great time though.
Sorry no personals - but rest assured I have read the last 30 pages and I am all caught up with everything.
Welcome to the newbies - I will remember you names again at your next post :shame: sorry!
We are night waking with a vengence (sp). While away we did a 12 hr night, I am sure she was just teasing me because every night after that she's woken 2 to 3 times. Usually 1am then every 2 to three hours after - and she really wants a feed. I am hoping it's just another growth spurt. I have no idea what she weighs atm.
No rolling, no sitting, no talking happening here. All she really wants to do is stand up. You try to make her sit on your lap and she wants to stand. Seems to stand heaps and gets real cranky if she can't stand up at all times!
Another thing is she's watching everything we eat - so nearly ready for food - however wanting to hold off till that magic 6 month mark, reason being is I am too lazy to cook just yet, once they start eating solids it NEVER STOPS!
Noticed that some are turning bubs around in their carseats, I almost forgot that we were meant to do this at 8kgs, I wonder if it matters if I don't do it just yet? Don't even know if she's 8kgs yet anyway. Ohh I so don't want her to stop being a baby yet......
Anyway - had lots of late ones so off to bed....
Ohh did remember one bit of important news Congrats :bfp: Strawberry ??? Oh I hope that was the right person..... 30 pages remember - it's all a blur now!

Guess what, guess what??
Matthew has cut his first tooth. He is 20 weeks today. Not sure if i should be happy about this. Luke didn't get his first tooth till he was one, so i never had to worry about been bitten while feeding. Plus my little guy is growing up.
So much for telling the brissie mums on wednesday that it will probably be awhile before it actually cuts.
Well today was the longest i have ever left Matt for. 7hrs. I had to go and organise about going back to work next tuesday. I missed him terribly and worried that he wouldn't settle for MIL. He wasn't too bad but didn't sleep much.
Matthew is now rolling continuosly. He started that last weekend and thought he was very clever. It is like he is ticking of all his milestones all at once.
Yesterday i had one of those days where he was just perfect, fed perfectly, sleep perfectly, was just an angel. It was like i had a completely new child and i fell in love with him all over again. Then night time came. The devil was back. My god how can someone change that quickly.
Anyhoo enough :ecomcity: from me. Sorry no personals will try next time.

2cutekidz: Welcome back!
This is just my personal opinion ok
Not here and not for a long time yet. The weight isnt the only thing to take into consideration. Also neck control should be considered, We are actually going to wait till Katies feet are out of room.
I feel that at 4/5 months they dont have enough neck control/strength to withstand a hard impact. She has great head/neck control but would rather not risk it. Most sites that I have read up on also say hold off as long as possible.
jacstar: YAY for Geoffrey taking the bottle finally, bet thats a big relief.
Lukeandmattsmum: :smiliedance: for the toothy peg!
Mouse: hmm thats a hard one..I would say I would probably change Katie but thats because I know shes easy to settle/re-settle etc.
Would totally depend on bub for me.

mousebrown - personally i wouldnt leave a nappy on that was dirty all night. i wouldnt be able to sleep even if he could as i would be worried he'd wake with bad nappy rash.
Ashton is good his is nearly there at rolling from his back to belly. just that arm gets stuck under him. wont be long. i cant believe he is nearly 6 mnths old. i need to book him in for his needles.
well its my 24th birthday tomorrow. nothing much planned though just a quiet day with the family and a sleep in:sleeping::p
8kg is the absolute minimum for turning a baby around in a car seat and 12kg is the more accepted weight, which is usually close to 12 months. Facing backwards is safest, so leave the car seat that way for now.
josh is still grizzly, but ok. he's asleep now, so it's time for me to sleep now too. we've ended up babysitting a 6yo for the night too ... talk about a busy night.

hi ladies ...
sorry i haven't been in over the last week or two and have missed abit ...
happybirthday sns!!!! for tomorrow
mousebrown - not sure whether i would leave bubs - if they were due for a feed in the next few hours  but probably not over night .....
for those of you that remember - i have had probs with my bubs re - reflux, cows milk allergy and feeding .... we finally got a referral to a peadiatrics gastroenterologist (sp) gp has got us an urgernt referral for next week .... :smiliedance: - i just hate seeing her in so much pain .... apparently she will need to get some tests done- which i really hate the thought of .but she cant' go on like this anymore ... i have been doing my reading and she can cause more damage if it goes untreated ....so :fingerscrossed: we get some answers for her soon...
it was suggested we try her on some organic rice cereal to see if the thickened food helps to settle her - but we have tried about once a week for over a month now and she gags on it still and can't swallow it ...so maybe something is going on ???

Gee its pretty quiet in here…
Hels - What a fantastic sleep. Hope it continues for you. I got Talon’s plaque from Twinkle Toes. I have a pic of it below. I was very happy with the end result.
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s305/kelleigh75/DCP_3008.jpg
2cutekidz – Welcome back and yep that’s right I’m preggers again. Was very shocked but very excited.
Lukeandmattsmum - Yay for the toothy peg!
mousebrown - personally i wouldnt leave a nappy on if he was dirty, he won’t go to sleep anyway unless I changed him.
Sugar and Spice – happybirthday . I hope you have a great day.
Bossoflatch - All the best with your daughter. i hope they work out what wrong :hugs:
Us – Not much happening here. Just the normal house work today. I went to the dr yesterday to get my blood test results. Yep I’m pregnant . The results are saying I’m 10 weeks not 6 weeks. Have to have an ultrasound on Friday. Talon is still in bed. He went down at 8am and its almost 11.30 here and he’s still asleep :smiliedance: .
Feeding – I was given heaps of stuff at my baby shower. I use the Heinz basic bowl and spoon. When he sees the bowl he knows its time for food. It doesn’t bother me what bowl I use cause he usually eats his food in record time lol 10mins.
Car seats - I personally not changing Talon’s carseat around till around 10 to 12 months. He still likes lying down and looking out the window and also he likes sleeping in the car.
Have a great weekend girls.
Cheers
Kel
bossoflatch ... I hope they work out what is wrong asap. :hugs: to all of you.
strawberry ... how do they do the casts of the hands/feet? I saw one on tv that the hand had to be in the same position for 15 minutes - that would be impossible for Josh even if he was asleep! I'd love to get it done, but I can't see him staying perfectly still for long.
So you're 10 weeks pregnant huh? So, a December baby? Hopefully you get a date when you have your ultrasound.
sugar ... happybirthday 24 huh? I wasn't even married at 24 (oh yeah, I was, but only 6 weeks before my 25th birthday :D )
Josh woke up at 1:30 and 5 and then again at 9am. So, not TOO bad, but I'm pretty tired. My dh had to get up early for a meeting, so he looked after our 6 year old we were babysitting til I got up just after 8. That's a sad story ... she had to stay with us cause her mum had to take her sister home to the country (she was in Melbourne for a conference) cause her house had burnt down. Thankfully her dh and 3 kids weren't at home at the time of the fire and they were safe. We definitely didn't want this little girl to see her Aunt & Uncle's house burnt down or to spend up to 4 hours travelling in the car.

Min1 - They use special stuff. They mould the paste around the feet/hand and they hold it for no longer then 1 min if that. It was amazing how they did it and the best then was didn't leave any paste on his feet or hands.
As for the 10 weeks i don't know. Going off my LMP i'm 6 weeks but the blood results (hcg levels) are saying 10 weeks. Dr said may be twins  I will know on Friday.

Just a quick check-in, no personals. Don't think I have much extra to add to everyone elses's comments anyway. Still nowhere near thinking about turning car seats around and going to hold off on solids until 6 months unless C really seems to need something extra. Pooey nappy - nope, can't leave it if I definitely know it is dirty (especially the messy ones he's been doing lately!). But poor C is prone to a bit of nappy rash so try and change him quite often.
Just as I was getting a bit blase about having everything under control and even (shock horror) time to be bored, C absolutley refused to settle yesterday. Although clearly tired he was awake from 11am until he went to bed at 6.30pm  . Made it extra hard to get all the housework done in preparation for FIL who arrived this morning for a week long visit.
Has taken C a bit longer to settle today as well and more protesting than there has been for a while but really not sure why. But he is 2 hours into his second nap of the day so all good  .
Just wondering how long everyones' bubs average awake time is now. C used to easily do 2 hours but now he often seems tired after only 45 minutes?! Even if he's just woken from a 3 hour nap.
Cat ... josh is all over the place with regards to playtime. Sometimes he's tired after being up for 30 minutes, sometimes it's 2 hours! It's so unpredictable. Then his length of sleep is also unpredictable. It's not unheard of for him to sleep for 3 or 4 hours straight (maybe once or twice a week), but other times 45 minutes maximum and will not resettle when he wakes up. In amongst all this though he has a pretty predictable feeding schedule at the moment (9am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and sometime overnight between 3 and 6am). What really frustrates me is when I have to change to the play-feed-play-sleep routine cause he's awake only 2 hours after a feed and won't settle. That then stuffs up the whole day.
Cat13
02-06-2007, 03:34 PM
Thanks Mim. Glad C is not the only one who likes to be unpredictable and send the feed/play/sleep routine haywire! When he wakes up after a 30min nap and won't settle back it's a pain. Too soon for a feed straight away, so a bit of playtime but then sleepy signs but too early to sleep because another feed approaching etc etc............. AAAAGGGHHHH!!! The unpredictablility is also taking it's toll on the (.)(.)s. They don't know what's going on when he throws in an extra long nap or decides he doesn't need a night feed. Right now I look like Dolly Parton and C better be hungry when he wakes from this 3.5hr + nap he's having or else the pump will be coming out.
Was sorting old clothes the other day and came across my pre-pg bras (10B) and tried to try one on. It was ridiculous, may as well have been trying to put on dolls clothes. I've gotten used to my size and don't feel that much bigger than I used to be although the looks I get from DH (& comments from friends) tell me otherwise. A 12DD or 10E now (bigger when full) so going to be quite a shock to me when BF stops and they start shrinking!!
Yay - he's awake. He's going to have a good feed now whether he wants to or not!! :D

Wow - just looking at some of the picture's in people's avatars! We don't have tiny babies anymore! In fact, they're all approaching 6 months.. it's just amazing. On one hand it's sad, but on the other - hwo exciting is it to see all the wonderful new things they can do each day!
Had a pretty good day - I'm getting to love Saturdays when DH and Caitlin vacate the house and I have freedom. Today i went to the shops BY MYSELF and bought 2 litres of milk.. ahhh bliss.... I had time to compare prices and everything. Then i went and played with my camera.. I'm really starting to love - I shall I have to upload some new ones of Caitlin soon - she getting clever!!
She's sitting up by herself for a few seconds here and there and grabbing everything... she types on the keyboard and turns the pages when I read to her.. I just can't believe she's actually doing this stuff from a few months ago when she'd either sleep feed or bawl her eyes out.
I agree about varying play times. Do you know, I go out so much that Caitlin is so unsettled when I have a day at home. We both drive each other mad... I guess it's good that she's flexible.
Yeah, my parents are keen to have Caitlin turned around in her carseat but there's no hurry at all! she's tiny! We;re off to Melbourne in less than 2 weeks (YAY!) and sharing a hire car so they'll just have to put up with her car seat that we're taking. Nothing like getting cosy. Any Melbourne girls live around Rosebud or Williamstown? We're staying at those 2 places - CANT WAIT.
Strawberry - TWINS!! That would be crazy... that would ALMOST be 3 under the age of 1. How exciting though. :)
DH has just decreed that it is bedtime so I shall drag myself to an unmade bed ... argh.. my most unfavourite thing.

My horrible Wdenesday night has a true reason! WE HAVE TEETH!! Two infact!! They have both come up together (Middle bottom). So that is what all the tears and screaming was about.:yelclap:
How many more babies have teeth? 19 1/2 weeks, is that early??

Cat & Mim - I hear you with the play routines - but I thought that at 4 months they changed to play feed play sleep anyway?
I also hear you with settling issues. After being so proud of myself and getting her to learn to self settle from about 1 month old - the last couple of days I have had to go back to basics and get out my old Tressillian settling techniques. I just don't know what her problem is. She just doesn't want to go to bed - but she is just sooooo tired.

As we are moving back to Canada in a month, we did a swap meet this morning with sil and mil, was great made about $150 but didn't manage to sell a lot of the baby clothes which was strange as had them super cheap and all nice stuff, ah well was all good fun.
ELLEMBEE- I hear ya on the fighting sleep issue!! X gets himself into such a state and fights the sleep, I end up in tears most of the time, not fun!!
LIVIESMUM- wow about the teeth!! id say 19 weeks could be average....I'm thinking X might have some up soon too, he's only 16 weeks, we;ll see.....
CORDELIA- i'm the same as you with the sats. I get about 2 hours to go shopping on my own, when ya it's something as dull as shopping but just feels so liberating doing it just me!!
CAT13- im still oh so very jealous of the great little napper you have there!! can't remember but you said he sleeps through at nites ya??
on that sleeping note, i'm feeling like i'm the unlucky freak for some reason, when it seems like everyone else's bubs sleep perfectly....just don't know what x's problem is, he's still getting up 2 or 3 times a night and I seriously feel like a zombie and am getting mad at him for it when it's not his fault!! How bad is that!??! I actually thought that I might end up with an angel baby as he wasn't planned, so seriously thought "karma" would reward me for keeping him  He's not that bad really, just challenging, but he is so gorgeous so worth it.....anyway good to vent that....I just really need 4-5 hours straight sleep!!!
STRAWBSHORTCAKE!! Imagine if you're having twins!! I think that would be great, kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I'd love to have twins, 2 sets in DF's fam, but has no effect on me unfortunately as the gene is passed on to the female, that's right ya??
well i'm off to grab what little opportunity I have left for a nap now....have a great day all
aries ... what about selling the clothes on ebay? Don't bother to list them separately as that would mean sending clothes to heaps of different people, just sell them as a whole lot. You might be surprised at how much you get.
Josh is not a super sleeper, that's for sure. He was, but that's a distant memory. He did oblige me and go from his daily routine of 3 hourly feeds and stretched it to a whole 4 hours for overnight - wasn't that generous of him? He is still sick, but he's getting better, so I'm going to have mother's group here tomorrow ... I can always let him sleep in his room while they are here if he is still sick (sleep during the day ... who am I kidding?)
No seriously, I am tired from this lack of sleep, but I'm coping ok at the moment. I've got a million things to do and no energy to do it, but my mum retires this week and when she gets back from an interstate holiday 2 weeks later she'll be able to help out ... and that's something to really look forward to.
It's strange. I'm so maternal and always have been that I had no idea that I'd be so happy with the concept of having someone else (even my mum) look after my baby for decent blocks of time. I imagined i'd be fine with her babysitting for us to go out, etc, but to be hanging out for her to come over so I can do a bit of stuff around the house ... no, I didn't expect that.

Aries, trust me, C is not the perfect sleeper. (i don't think any of them are). True we have more good days than bad now but definitely do have bad ones!
Our main problem is still falling asleep in the first place. He can really really fight sleep too and I can also get cranky & frustrated with him even though I know he is doing his best to fall asleep and is not fighting it on purpose to upset me. At night time I am still feeding him to sleep and during the day it usually still ends up taking a walk in the pram - sometimes with no fuss at all but sometimes with much sobbing & yelling no matter what I do. The days when nothing (pram, sling, rocking, feeding) works are sooooo exhausting and disheartening. The days when he falls asleep after 5mins in the pram are magic! Even better when it's for more than 45mins and I can get things done.

Sugar - happybirthday (a belated one!)
Strawberry - Oh wow you lucky thing! Can't wait to hear your news after the scan - TWINS!!!????
Car Seats - I'm the one who has turned my car seat around. Mine is only for rear facing until a maximum of 9kg's and is able to be turned from 8kg's. As Kelsey is over 8kg's now we decided to give her a go. It is still reclined slightly so she can sleep etc and she doesn't have to hold her head up at all. I guess all car seats are different so I just went by the manufacturers guidelines. I do understand what some of you are saying about leaving it for a while but to be honest, by her weight and length she is really too big to leave in the backwards position.
For those of you with other kiddies ( or maybe eventually Strawberry and her (maybe) twins, or you Cheeki) I just bought a new booster seat for my DS. It is an INFA brand - new model out and a very slim design to allow for having 3 boosters/car seats in the back seat. Just thought I would mention it as some boosters are really bulky and wide. It has an anchor point and you can use a harness too. Also keeps the usual lap-sash belt in a really good position for a toddler without riding up on their neck. Just a thought.
We just got back from our trip away. had a very lovely but exhausting time. kelsey hated the car trip and screamed most of the time other than a couple of VERY short naps. DS kept asking to go home to see the dogs and Kelsey had a few tummy aches and a very windy belly (yes Ellembee lots of tummy massage and bicycles here too. Also a warm bath with me at 4.30 am to try and help). I never realised how exhausting it would be to go away with the kids as this is our first trip since Kelsey was born. But we still had a great time and are planning another weekend away soon.
Take care ladies.
Oh, forgot to say YAY for those of you whose bubs have cut teeth!! They are growing up so fast!

Also, for you ladies talking about night time wake ups - kelsey used to sleep thru but hasn't for over a month now. She is getting up 3-4 times a night for a feed and STILL manages to get out of bed at 6am!!! I just keep telling myself that it won't go on forever. I am enjoying our night time boobie feeds together and will miss it when she gives it up eventually. I LOVE how she feeds for a little while and then stops to give me a cheeky smile - so cute.
Also, she is flapping her arms alot when she is excited - especially when she sees me!
Oh, and HOORAY for those bubs starting to sit up. I have been propping Kelsey up on the bed for a few seconds before she topples over - I think she has a round bottom!!!

Hi everyone,
Well Matthew now has two teeth, he cut his second on Saturday. He is growing up so fast.
Not much more happening apart from i can't be away from him for more than 5 seconds before he is screaming. He is very clingy at the moment. He had his first screaming session on Saturday with a strange person, it was DF's sister. Made my day as she thinks all babies love her.

Don't worry Aries Moon I HEAR YOU LOUD and CLEAR! Billy only ever sleeps 3 - 4 hours each night but has now started waking every 2 hours for the last 2 nights. It is driving me mental  I do sometimes feel cross when I hear him 'grunting' for booby yet again. Tonight was the first time I actually 'topped him up' with formula he drank about 60mls (on top of emtying both boobs), I hope it works! I NEED SLEEP, SLEEP, SLEEP  and at least 5 hours straight would be much appreciated :D Let you know how I go.
I am having some major dramas with x DH and access for the kids, he is being a total tosser about the whole thing and so unreliable, again threatening to quit his job and leave Alice Springs. I am so over caring about his rediculous decisions
Hope you all had a great weekend and :wizard: Sugar

thanks for the reassurance FLICKA and KARRINA!! I'm glad I'm not the only one with a booby obsessed baby!! and ya, actually attempted the formula top up last nite, but the little monkey still will not take a bottle............just laughs and pushes it around with his tongue like it's a game:banghead: oh well, at least he can tell me what he wants I guess:rolleyes: I'll keep my :fingerscrossed: for you Karrina that it works, and ya let us know! nite all
Josh is recovering from his cold, but still grizzly. He was awake for 3 hours straight this afternoon ... grrr! I was trying to relax and get ready for mother's group here tomorrow. Then he was only asleep for 20 minutes before he woke up sobbing (poor baby), I resettled him, but he was awake again 5 minutes later grizzling at the top of his lungs. Finally I got him to sleep half an hour later with the help of panadol and dimetapp and he slept for over 2 hours! yeah! Then he fed really well (another yeah given his cold) and he was asleep again an hour later. I'm now not completely ready for mother's group, but much closer. Unfortunately cause he went 5 hours between feeds he may try and squeeze in another one before midnight ... I hope not though.
Josh is looking at me for confirmation that someone is ok to smile at now. It's funny. He'll go to other people without screaming, but he will usually look to me to make sure it's ok before he'll be happy in the other person's arms. It's so cute :)

aries_moon clea has never slept longer than 6 hours. i get up at 12 then 3 then 6ish. Try to settle her at 12 without a feed but then she just wakes about 10 mins later so no point. Clea has some solids now she has had pear and carrot. But it hasnt reduced the booby feeds.
flicka, Clea was falling back when I tried to sit her up and then my SIL looked at her and said "I think she can sit" put her on the floor and pushed her legs wider apart. She can sit fine, but she tries to eat her feet so falls on her face! So try making kelsey's legs wider apart but be repared for some face first falls.
No teeth here yet but a few 'teething' days.
DH leaves for Europe tomorrow and Clea and I will follow in about a month. Bit emotional as I am going to miss DH and I am sad that he is going to miss a month of Clea's growing up.

Thanks for the tip on sitting Kelsey up dragonflyblu and I am sending big hugs to you and Clea for when you say 'see you soon' to daddy/DH. :hugs:
Yes, we have had a few 'teething' type days here too. Every time she grizzles DH says "Must be her teeth" but sometimes I think she is just a cranky pants and I am making excuses for her!!! Oh well, I have planty of cranky days too!!!
Mim - Hope poor Josh is on the improve. have you tried a vapouriser? I got one from the chemist for about $50 for Kelsey and now wish I had bought one for DS when he was a baby.
LukeandMattsMum - Clingy - yes kelsey also has her moments. She doesn't want to be put down for long at the moment so I end up doing housework and cooking while holding her. She also cries when I let anyone unfamiliar hold her. We don't have any family here so she rarely gets held by anyone other than me or DH.
Well, I'm off to take the kids for a walk. Feeling very motivated to lose a few kg's before Kelsey's christening at the end of the month.

Flicka - i agree with you re. cranky pants!! i have often said that about Geoffrey, and find he is such a 'whingy' baby, and i feel like its just my baby and everyone has these little 'angels'!!!! i find i keep making excuses for him, but the last few days i am giving that up...
i have also been in a shocking mood and have so many hormones flying around...thanks to the return of AF 3 days ago....not happy, but I guess it explains my mood swings and getting cross with Geoffrey when he still wakes up at night....thanks for the vent!
i know it seems every time i post on here that he is having good sleeps, like 10-12 hrs, he then goes back to waking again!!
aries - don't worry about the bottle, G took it one day and now will hardly take anything again!
i am going to try to keep geoffrey awake more during the day....not sure if that will help night time sleeps, but we will see....

Hi-ya Girlies,
Hope those WA are enjoying the PH with their partners.
Pooey nappy...no resulting nappy rash form being left in the dirty nappy. Can't remember exactly when she did wake that night (Everything blurring into one). If she had a pooey nappy before going to sleep she wouldn't have settled, but as she did it in her sleep it didn't seem to bother her.
Sugar...happybirthday late brithday
Strawberry...TWINS, yikes! ONe on both sides, normally twins skip a generation, so maybe you're it.
Mim...having time for myself to do things around the house is what I really miss. To be able to get dirty in the garden without waiting for the next feed time is all I want. When DH is home he is always in the shed getting dirty without having to worry about kids, but doesn't understand I want the same.
Karrina...:hugs: , hope your xDH starts co-operating soon. And hope you can get a decent length sleep soon.
Vapouriser...I've got one, but don't use it much as we've got timber floors. Have come across (but not used one yet) a SudaClear Vapour Plug. It seems to work the same way, just don't have the moisture.
Us...TJ's really not doing well on the sleep front at the moment. After having two reasonable nights, she's been a horror both at night and during the day. Bacause of the short daytime sleeps we tend to play-feed-play-sleep. Her awake time varies from 45 minutes to 3 hours. No teeth yet. Had her sitting up in her cot yesterday for a while. Not brave enough to try it on the floor yet.
Tried normal formula again last night, but will ahve to continue with teh lactose free for a while longer. TJ was unsettled after the bottle and had some tummy pains with wind.
Have a great day, beautiful day in Perth...if only I could get into the garden.....

Strawberry - I love the plaque  We chose a Jarrah timber frame with cream insert and gold hands and feet (2 of each). It should be ready in a month she said.
Sugar - Hope you enjoyed your birthday, did you do anything nice?
Mouse - I know what you mean about the garden. I love pottering around in mine but I just don't get the time anymore. I have some great big ball-on-a-stick plants which I don't get the time to cut and shape anymore so we are going to rip half of them out and replace with something of less maintenance.
Us - I was going to start R on some farex yesterday but changed my mind as he had his 4 mth needles today and I didn't want to run the risk of having his tummy upset on top of the needles too. So I will wait a bit longer for solids. He fed 200mls at 7pm last night, had a bath and another 250mls at 9pm and then went to bed (woke today at 10am) so it all worked out ok in the end.
His needles went ok, he has this thing now where he cries if a stranger says hello to him up close. This happened today with the nurse so he was already crying by the time the needles went in (he had 3). I took the pram and by the time he was back in it he had already stopped crying. I took him for a little walk after in the fresh air and he was fine. He's now sleeping in his swing, so I will keep an eye on him this arvo.
:yelclap: YAY to the babies who are cutting teeth, no sign of any here yet. No rolling yet either. My mum told me that I took ages to get mobile as I was quite a chubby bub, but I was quick to talk and respond to things. I think R is heading the same way, but he's getting quite good at sitting up in his Bumbo seat. I will get the jolly jumper out soon too, anyone using theirs yet?

Hey Flicka, we have excited flappy arms here too. And he's also just discovered how to hold on to his feet and get his toes into his mouth. So cute, nearly makes up for the 4am wakeups & feeds which he will not settle back to bed after for more than 20mins.
Sitting?? Probably not there for a while but definitely doesn't slump over so much when he's in the pram or high chair anymore.
Teething - wish I could use it as an excuse for his grumpy periods but don't think any actual signs of that yet either.
After saying I wanted to wait to start solids he keeps doing this movement with his mouth that looks like he has food in there that he's chewing up. Also sticks his tongue way out now in preparation for a milk feed and if we put anything else near his mouth. Just a sign he's getting ready? And he is ever so interested in watching us when we eat.
Karrina, :hugs: to help you get through difficult times with ex-DH.
Yay Hels for needles being out the way (well for 2 more months anyway!)
Grrrrr, FIL just let front door slam & woke C up from a 10min sleep he'd finally settled himself into after 45mins. Can't get too cranky, just an accident & he means well.
quick check in.
josh is getting better thankfully! he went longer between feeds last night and we both got a bit extra sleep. we had mother's group here this afternoon and it was fun! 8 mums and bubs :).
got given a baby swing to borrow today. josh already loves it. It's only a short term borrow, so I'm already thinking about buying one ... it's one that converts to a highchair.
better go - got no clean bottles and josh needs his medicine in EBM in an hour (no EBM in the fridge either!). I only have about 9 bottles and use 2 a day, you'd think I'd have a clean bottle handy wouldn't you? :shame:

Hi everyone
Aries - you are definately not alone! Gigi has never slept through and I am up either once, twice or three times a night. I know that she will probably not sleep through until fully on solids and I have weaned her off the breast, which I intend to do at 6 months.
Cranky pants baby - I too have a cranky pants baby most afternoons. I think its because she is a catnapper by day and therefore is absolutely exhausted by 4.00 pm. She sometimes perks up if we go for a walk (she screamed all walk today) and always perks up in the bath, but cranky pants as soon as she gets out.
Rolling, sitting, teeth etc - nope, nope and nope. She does chat lots though lol!
Having said all that. I love her to death. I like the nights I get up once, and will be sad when she sleeps through, as it really is an intimate time for us both.

Hi Mim, glad to hear Josh is feeling a bit better  . Glad hosting the mothers group went well too - 8 mums & bubs could have been a bit of a challenge.
Is it just me or has it been quieter in here the last few days? A few people seem to have gone MIA!

just a quickie here as its been a busy long weekend here in Perth - perhaps why its quiet on BH? Had my mum here for the weekend which was good but occasionally stressful having her helpful suggestions all the time!
well two milestones this weekend: new highchair (basic IKEA one) which is fantastic for having Hamish near me when I'm cooking in the evenng and also did some gardening with him in it; and FIRST SOLIDS!! Was getting very worn down by him waking for 3 hourly feeds through the night, and sometimes 2 hourly. I hadn't had more than 2 hrs straight sleep for ages. So we did rice cereal with BM and he loved it. Grabbed the spoon and shoved it in his mouth. Tonight he had about a dessertspoonful, ate the lot. LAst night he slept the best he has for weeks but that may have been from having a very busy day yesterday. Will see how tonight pans out.
More later anyway, got cranky pants tonight and I've got to cook tea.
kx
ps grabbing the feet is the favourite party trick here too! It started with one but now he can do both he thinks he's the cleverest thing out!

hi:wave: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SUGAR, great you get a holiday weekend for it!!!
Yes the draw of the long weekend pulling us away from BH!! Had a holiday with ex-DP and family and was a lovely lovely time for me and for H. Two 12yr old girls just thinking H was beautiful and playing with him all day SO many smiles, oh course his Dad being with him a lot and lots of noise and laughter and music all adding to his world. Oh and the sea, plants, curtains, eating sand!, dog etc etc. All v wonderful for him. As for routine, was surprised Hunter was able to keep to his normal sleeps/eats despite all the change of surroundings. Oh and the NOISE! But he was, good to understand his adaptablility before its not there anymore. Last night slept 7.30-7am waking at 12 and 5..that is a usual night recently.Home now and almost back to normal, though H is certainly more grownup, but I am so much more relaxed than last week when the thought of packing was dauntingly large and I almost thought I wouldn't go. His Dad was also stressed leading up to it, thankfully we drove seperately after the ridiculous turnaround last time.
My heart goes out to you Karrina!!!! You are certainly going through a v hard time now, it will become clearer, I imagine your ex-DP feels powerless. So BIG HUGS for keeping your focus on your happiness for your precious two.
FEET yes same here too Freddie/Hamish +all. Loves them. Esp in the bath.
Mim1 our bubs have similar waking nights, i think. That reassurance thing is v sweet, as is you fellows looking after the 6yr old, v kind. Flicka the round bottomed K had me in giggles but not the 4.30 am bath, yikes, I bet it seemed rather unreal when you got up in the morning. I hope it worked! Hels so wonderful about the length of R sleep (last week at least!!..catching up here) also for explaining how they do the bronzing. My Sis and I tried painting H's feet and hands to make prints, the feet were gorgeous..the hands, HEHEHH as if! MouseBrown it is a hugely old question now but I'd be with you, I think other factors such as scale of the poo and propensity to nappy rash are also influental. I wouldn't and haven't changed in the past. H is on every 2-3days now, so prob would as it'd be HUGE! Luke+MattsMum sad to hear about the nighttime horns! But great about the daytime rolls and the TEETH!2cutekidz I hear you about the having to prepare the food once you start, I'm in agreement here..will be 6months-, but H is certainly grabbing at food.BossOfLatch great to know that this week it will start being sorted regarding your appointment :( Two exercise post-natal Mums here have the same thing with their 18-20wk olds. They are also cutting things out of their diets now. :fingerscrossed: All is well soon! Oops i did write note for this post and I can't read what I was agreeing with Cordelia about!! he eh. Well I agree!!! Hope Caitlin is enjoying her food. Aries! Great about swapmeet, I agree about ebay suggestion. I only buy H clothes on ebay..(oh and Woolies!!)Will be seeing you soon and other Perthies, sorry for being so recalcitrant here! and changing the dates..Ok ok, how is the 19th???? Looking forward to seeing X and you of course!! Tabby HI!! Hope the driving with DS2 went well !! Gosh it will be all our little ones one day eeck..

Morning all,
Not on for a couple of days and miss heaps!
Congrats to all the new toothy's / rolling / sitting up / feet grabbing, all great milestones!
Katie is almost sitting too, unaided on the lounge, wont be long. Grabbing feet yes, started this week.
Have been terribly busy this last week with organising ds1 with his car and today again! It has to go back as has a transmission leak so he didnt even get to drive with his L's yet. So I have to go pick it up again later today or morrow.
Charis: Any day is fine for me Perth meet.
Mim: Glad Josh is much better!!!!
Hels: :hugs: for jabs, hope hes still ok and no effects.
Mouse: Sorry to hear TJ isnt sleeping well, ( and everyone else having sleepless nights! ) :fingerscrossed: for you all that you get some improvement real soon.
Clingy..Yes very! Left her with Mum last week and she cried once she couldnt see me after I got in the car to leave, but easily distracted and all over with fast says "grandad" lol
Her teeth are bothering her again so very clingy for Mum here at home.
DP is off on workers comp, twisted his ankle in a hole at work yesterday! Of all things! Now I have to tend to him as well as he cant walk properly, sure hope it heals fast as his helping with Katie is limited to sitting on the couch with her.
Couldnt have come at a worse time for me.
Feeling rather overloaded this last few days, Always seem to be doing things for everyone else and never time for anything for me...and now with dp's ankle :banghead:
Sorry if missed anything! Katie is asleep and have washing etc to tend to.
Love to all xx!

Ah, a long weekend in the west, that explains it!! Hope Perth ladies all had a good one, yours sounded lovely Charis, sounds like H had a ball. Don't you love watching them look around at new things taking it all in.
Tabby, I know how you feel. My DH still hobbling along after injuring his ankle months ago. Having an ankle reconstruction (hope your DPs injury is not as serious!) next week and going to be in a cast for 6 weeks. So he'll be home but also not much help. He has this week off too with FIL visiting but they left for a fishing trip this morning so just me and C for a couple of days.
Freddie, :fingerscrossed: the better sleeping continued for you last night after H's intro to solids.
Decided not going to bother posting about C's sleeping schedule anymore as there really is no pattern and he's always making a liar out of me.
Hope everyone has a nice day.

thanks Cat, slept ok last night - bed at 7.15pm then woke at 12.20, 3.30 and up at 6.15am. Its so odd that he seems to 'know' when its a weekend. He wakes 6.15-6.30am on weekdays then 'slept in' Saturday, Sunday and Monday (7.30/ 8am). He knew it was a long weekend too! He's making eating motions with his mouth this morning. very cute. I really wanted to hang on until 6 months but I had to admit that all the signs were there to get started now so I thought I'd go with the flow instead.
19th is ok for me Charis, no probs, whatever suits you cos you're so busy. sounds like you had a lovely weekend away. DH and I both said over breakfast this morning we need a holiday now my mum has gone! she can't keep still and its exhausting just watching and being around her.
happybirthday belated birthday to strawberry too. Karrina hope everything settles for you soon.
oops...I hear some cries, best get the little man up.

Yes tell me about it Cat. After mentioning Kelsey has been so unsettled she made a liar out of me last night. Went down at 6.30, and only woke at 4am for a feed then back to bed and she slept in until 7.45am!!! It was amazing and now that I have had a decent sleep I feel like a real person again! (mind you still up at 6am with DS)
I think the good sleep was also due to the 'poonami' that we had at coles yesterday. Is anyone else finding their b/f bubs are going longer between poo's (oh how fascinated with bowel movements we can become as mothers!). I know it is normal and that they can go for over a week but I think Kelsey is going about every 7 days and seems a bit 'windy' and uncomfortable by the end. Maybe I should eat some licorice for her (just kidding).
As for the rolling, sitting etc - Kelsey isn't actually sitting up. I just prop her up for a few seconds and then she falls down again and we all have a laugh. And rolling - only front to back and just occasionally. As for grabbing her feet, I don't think my little tubby girl can reach her feet as she has a little spare tyre in the middle.
Charis - Yes agree with Cat - Isn't it great to look at things through the eyes of a child? And it only gets better as they get older when things like a grasshopper or watching ants becomes fascinating!! So much to look forward to with our little ones!
Tabby - hope you prop Kate up on the couch with DP and take some time for yourself.
I'm off to relax with a cuppa...take care

Aries - the formula top up made no difference  still woke just as many times for a feed.
Hels - Billy is using his jolly jumper with musical mat, he seems to enjoy it. He stays in there about 5 - 10 min at a time
Thanks all for the support and wishes, I have been pretty slack with personals and most of the time can only manage to skim through the posts. It is just too crazy here at the moment
Us - Billy had some sort of fever last night, runny poo and vomitting. To top it all off Imani (DD) was sleeping over with her dad and at 3am they rocked up because she was 'missing mum and Billy' and hadn't slept most of the night. Poor little DD is really insecure at the moment (just noticing in the last few days after stupid xDH told her that he is leaving and might not see her til she is a 'big girl') No wonder she is insecure! Anyway we all didn't get out of bed til 10:30 this morning and just when I was ready to take Imani to pre-school Billy was wanting to sleep :banghead:
So I rang xDH and he came to pick her up which was good:thumbsup:
I start work in just over one week
My best friend (who I haven't seen for over 3 years) is coming to stay with me for 10 days. She is bringing her 2 year old (who I haven't met) so I am very excited to be catching up with her again. She lives in Melbourne so we rarely have the chance and she has been a great friend (we went to school together).

Hi Ladies,
No personals this time, thought i would do a quick post while Talon is sleeping.
I was going to have an ultrasound on Friday but been having abit of spotting. So I rang my Dr this morning to see if I could get in today. Yay they fitted me in.
I’m happy to report that there is only 1 bub with a very strong heartbeat :smiliedance: My dates are spot on 6 weeks 5days and no sign of bleeding on the scan woohoo. I'm abit :( to as I wouldn't have minded if there were twins. Hubby said today if it was the case we would of tackled it together.
Will get on later
Take care

STRAWBSHORTCAKE- Awesome news about healthy bub, no bleeding!!!:smiliedance: Maybe next time it will be twins:D Can I ask you a question because I don't really remember, but were/are you bf'ing or ff'ing Talon when you conceived and had your af return?? Simply curious as would like to analyze my chances.
KARRINA- sorry the formula top up didn't help. It must be a growth spurt. I am now convinced that growth spurts can last a month as finally just last nite, X only woke once at 12, then carried on until 6!! he must have known I was nearly at breaking point, pity I still woke by routine around 3 for a bit anyway. Hopefully everyone here will be on their way to better sleeps.....for some reason before I thought I was the only one suffering, but have taken comfort that we all struggle at times!!
TABBY- I sooooo know what you mean about loving the man free weekdays, I find that come sun. arvo I'm hanging out for him to get back to work as there's just less stuff/mess around the place and I just do my thing, it's like X's routine only applies on weekdays too so.............
FREDDIE-When H wakes at 12:20 and 3:30, does he feed both times, and if so for how long?
CHARIS: yep 19th is good for us too, whatever works really. Sounds like you had an awesome time away, and quality time for H with his dad, good stuff!!
well the needles are booked for tomorrow arvo, i'm hoping I will handle it a bit better as I know what to expect (tears!) maybe now that he's a bigger boy he won't mind so much? ya ha ha we'll see.
take care all

Aries - I have been formula feeding T since 6 weeks due to lack of milk supply. My af return around March. Dr said to me the other day, women are very fertile after having a baby. All i could say to her was. Well thats true isn't it :D i lol. Goof luck with it all.
Have your AF returned? If so do u know if you ovulate?
BTW Good luck hun with needles tomorrow.:hugs:

Hubby maybe posted to Perth at the end of the year with the defence. I'm just wondering what suburbs are around the RAAF Base that are good areas to live in.
thanks in advance

Do you know what area the RAAF base is located?? If you do, then I may be able to help with that query.
Also my Af hasn't returned, however I have had a spotting type thing that was only a couple of days, but had the same sort of achy feeling beforehand. So haven't clue if this is AF just in a different form, also no idea if/when ovulate, would obviously love to know! I'm assuming this will all be up in the air until stop bf'ing:detective:

Hi everyone,
Before I forget - Re: Perth Meet - I'll be away from the 14th to the 21st ( :( ) but you guys go ahead.
Strawberry - ooer! Bullsbrook is about 45 minutes out of town I guess? it's a town really close to the outskirts of Perth. There are lots of new estates not too far away - liek Jane Brook or Ellenbrook or Henley Brook (Yeah - lots of brooks!) or the Vines is really close. It's in a really nice area near the Swan Valley - lots of yummy goodies around there!! www.reiwa.com.au is a really good place to start anyway (hope that addy works).
Caitlin = wonderful. she is reaching for EVERYTHING.. holds her toes and talk talk talks!! She slept 9pm til 9am with a feed at 5am. Getting lots of time to myself! Today, did some photography, went out for a coffee and recorded a CD with my Mum for my Nan's 80th plus got some yummy dinner cooking!! Dont you love good days - they make up for the bad ones... you really have to hang on to them!!
My AF came and then went and I've been feeling "that feeling" now and then so wondering if it's some kind of ovulation. It won't be long before we're thinking of the next one! we don't want a huge gap.
I'd better go... paint my toenails.. aaaahhhh :D

hmmmm I've never been to Bullsbrook, had a look on a map and it is wayyyyyyyyyyy far away from anything remotely interesting, sorry. But of course that's as far as I know, and honestly I don't know much about the surrounding areas, so hopefully another WA girl will come on and be better help!! :o

Hey Strawberry, congrats on the healthy heartbeat. Seems ages ago we were watching that with our Jan07 bubs! Didn't know you were another defence mummy. Could help if you were asking about suburbs near Townsville RAAF base but haven't lived in Perth for a while. DH is army but working at the RAAF base here.
Aries, yay for good sleep last night!
We love those good days too Cordelia. Today was not one!

Woohoo for yr day Cordelia :) Yes we all love the good days!!
Straw Shorty excellent about the heartbeat, so amazing! Is Bullsbrook Pearse airbase? as I think long long lomg term they are selling it all for housing..thats not v helpful is it :) Other to say that Guildford or Kalamunda or the Vines are all v nice or as Cordelia also says any of the' Brooks. Wow exciting more perth girls! And proxy one of Aries in Canada L)
Goodluck for X and you Aries for shots!!

yay for healthy heartbeat Strawb. I think everyone here was holding out for another set of twins too!!
Strawb. yes Bullsbrook is near some lovely winery areas but not close to the metro area really. not too bad though.
Aries Hamish ALWAYS has a feed, can't settle him without. If its been 3 hours since the last I let him have a full feed which is 10 mins per side (I finish it or he'll comfort suck for ages) could probably do less. If its less than 3 hours I give him about 5 mins on one side to settle him. Last 2 nights since the intro of rice cereal he has had 3 hour minimum sleeps and starts with a 5 hour so its definitely looking good. Good luck with your lovely X. I think the 6 months is a guide as are all of the milestones, ultimately it depends on the individual.
Cordelia, cool about the lots of sleep and talking and feet grabbing etc. I've started playing the piano with Hamish on my lap. I tie him to me so I can do two hands and he puts his hands on mine!! its SO cute. Then he has a bit of a bang himself. He likes twinkle twinkle best, with singing.

Hels... Haven't been using our jolly jumper much. I find being on my own I forget about it and can't always stay within sight of it.
Freddie...Ikea highchair. Made a mental note to myself tonight while trying to feed TJ in her rocker to make it to Ikea next time DH is home to get one. Easy clean is what I'm after this time. Glad to hear youa re getting some sleep-ins. My DD's seem to work it the other way around, sleeping in on the days I have to go to work (so up at 6):banghead: .
Charis...the 19th is good for me. Great to hear you had an enjoyable weekend away.
Tabby...:hugs: take some time for yourself. With TJ only sleeping 45 min at a time I've decided to just take one of those 45mins for myself. Forget the housework for a while and take some time out.
Strawberry...Good to hear all is well after the scan. Bullsbrook (aka Pearce or commonly known as Bully) is about 20-odd mins from Midland and is now considered the outskirts of Perth. The town has two house areas, the main part on the Great Northern Hwy and West out the back of the base. The main part is made up of the old Base fibro houses - all privately owned now. I think rentals are hard to find. You'll find a very odd mix of people live there, but generally it's a very nice community. I grew up playing sport against Bullsbrook teams and have friends living in the main part of town. It only takes us 40-45mins to get there from Greenwood (NOR suburb) if that helps with distance and travel times at all. Oops:ecomcity: . PM me if you want any further relevant/irrelevant info.
LOL at Tabby and Aries with your Man free days. Now you understand how I feel at the end of DH's week at home:laughing: .
Doing ok here. Had TJ weighed and measured today. She's now 7.3kg and 69cm long (only 25cm shorter than her big sisiter, LOL)
Have a great night,
Lisa

strawberry congratulations on the new bub. i must be clucky as the idea of being pregnant brought a tear to my eye.
clea is eating solids now 3 times a day unless we go out and i skip the lunch one. but she is still having as much booby and she will only eat pear! yesterday i even gave her pear to chew on and she loved it. so nowit is boob and pear.
af's mine returned in the first 2 months. now they are regular and i hate the pre-mentrual week. i had forgotten all about it while i was pregnant.
oh and she still wakes up 2-3 times a night.

oops peessed submit before i finished. Wat i meant to say was that Clea still wakes alot despite the pear.
Well have BIL wedding tomorrow. Need to work out what to wear. Think I might go shopping today. Wish I knew what type of wedding it is so I know how to dress. For some reason we didnt get an invite (I suppose they just assumed I would know all the details) and I havent had much to do with helping organise, but it is at 2pm so I I suppose I will go for dressy day wear. I am dressing clea in her naming day dress, which is burgundy silk taffeta with a antique salmon coloured lace underskirt. MIL made it and its lovely. Will have to post some pics. DH is alreasdy on is way to germany so he is missing the wedding )-:

Strawberry - Yay for everything being ok with bub. V V happy for you!!
Dragonflyblu - Hope you and Clea are coping ok since your DH left. Lots of snuggles in bed together for you two!!!
Well, just to keep me on my toes Kelsey got up 3 times last night. I just can't figure that girl out!!! To top it off we had a HUGE fight with MIL about Kelsey's christening. I hate that DH's family are being so petty. It upsets me because this is supposed to be special day for Kelsey where we welcome her into our family and our lives and I hate these bad vibes from MIL and SIL. GRRRR **VENT OVER**.
Cat - Hope your are coping ok with Dh and FIL away fishing. Was thinking of you when up for a feed last night and wondered if Cameron had you up too!!! Hee hee!!!
Take care

 hi all
well back from needles and it all went so well, no tears from either of us, just a bit of a whinge!! Such a relief as I got myself quite worked up about it all:rolleyes:
DRAGONFLYBLU- Hope you're going ok so far with DH gone. I imagine it would be tough!! I was nearly going to go to Canada a month before DF too, but we worked that out. It's too bad having the pear hasn't helped with her sleep. x is pretty much the same. When I first introduced farex he slept better for the first few days, but think he just adjusted himself back to more boob again!! I guess our interrupted nites can't last forever at least!!
FLICKA- I hear about the MILS! Just do what makes you happy no matter how po'd she gets. That's my biggest pet peeve- bl**dy meddling mils!!!

Well i started back to work today. It is the first time Matt has been left all day. I think i struggled more than him. I have actually been doing a bit of work in after school care for a couple of months but on a Wednesday i am woking a full day. Kind of makes it hard when you have to express every three hours, i'm not quite ready to stop breastfeeding yet.
I had a hair cut tonight. Nothing like a good chop to make you feel like a new woman.
Strawberry just wan't to say congrats on the healthy heartbeat and all the best for the rest of the preg.
Aries that is great that [B]X[B] was good with his needles.
Dragonflyblu hope you have fun at the wedding
Sorry have forgotton what everyone else has said. So i will leave it at that for now, and try to catch up a bit later. Take care everyone.

Aries: :hugs: Hugs for X and you! Well done to both of you, no tears, how wonderful.
Our next are only under 2 weeks away, where did that 2 months go???!!!! Least after this one we get a 6 month reprieve.
Lukeandmattsmum: Envy your hair cut, I need one so bad! Permanently a pony tail lately.
:hugs: for your first full day back at work!
Flicka: Hope the bad vibes from IL's go away soon!
Your bubba your choice hun! xxx
Mouse: Yep took that time out and feel MUCH better! I even got a back massage off dp last night!!!!!!!! It was bliss!
LOL you remind me of my mums feelings re: dh home from the mines, dad use to be 2 on 1 off and by end of that week 1 she was gritting her teeth lol. Took her a LONG time to get used to it once he retired thats for sure lol.
Dp goes back tomorrow, they are arguing if indeed workers comp so have said get back to work! It was 4 feet from the back door, pretty sure thats their property, see what they say tomorrow face to face, his ankle is black!
Hoping once they see it and he has a talk they will let him home again as gp recommended xrays but without confirmation wc = no pay and we just cant afford days off :(
Strawberry!!! YAY for that lovely hb hun! So happy for you.
BullsBrook, we travel through there to get to IL's
Personally I wouldnt want to live there, only because seems a little too far from all the good things?. If was me I would try get a little further in and can dh travel a little bit or not?
Midland and surrounding areas maybe?
At least you have Midland near, awesome markets for the weekends! and plenty shopping centres for your shopping and price hunts!. Oh and LOTS of baby stores on great eastern hwy lol
Sorry if missed anything, only get on here once a day now. Katie just amuses me so much and if shes asleep i try to get things done, but once shes up thats it, we are playing around/talking /etc. Such a wonderful age! She changes every day and such a happy bub, shes always making me laugh and laughing together.
LOVE IT!!!
Good sleeps to all!!!!!

Hi all
It must be the season for weddings at the moment; we've got my brother's in a few weeks...my mum caught the bus to brisbane to come and look for something to wear with my sister and I!!! Painful!!! My mum is not at all a "dressing up" kind of person....but we managed to get something, and my sis and I both found shoes and jewellery. I swear though, if my mum says "oh that's [I]smart[I]" one more time......
Lukeandmattsmum....great about the haircut...I feel ready for another! Hope work wasn't too painful.
Strawberry....oh that magical heartbeat moment!!! It feels like only a year ago.........hang on it was!
All those bubbas and mummas who are sick...I hope you are all just staying home in your pjs, doing nothing! I've decided to do that today...with the cloudy, drizzly weather it's even better!
Flicka....I can feel those inlaw vibes...my sil had her birthday last friday and decided to book Lonestar...YUM...anyway, she booked for 6pm and I asked her if we could go 6:30/7 as Aud would feed at 6pm......he response was No and don't expect us to wait until you get there to order!!!!! ARGH!!! I didn't mention that for the last 4 years we haven't been able to go to anywhere for birthdays because she has 2 completely feral kids that don't know how to go out because she has never taken them out because its just all too much hard work for her! VENT VENT VENT!!
It's my birthday on Monday of long weekend and we are heading to Stanthorpe to visit my parents; MIL and FIL are coming to...which is fine because they are great! Should be nice a cold...a max of 8 on Saturday predicted. I wonder what scungy, cheap, reduced present I'll get from sil when we bought her really nice earrings......ok I swear the vent is over now!
Audrey going well....daytime sleeps are getting shorter and shorter!!! but still 12hrs through the night so can't complain. She's been grizzly the last day or so...I think she's a bit "blocked up".....we haven't had one for a couple of days...so just waiting for the poonami to hit!
Well better stop blabbing on! Hope everyone is well.

I'm enjoying the cooler weather today too - if you count 24 as cool. That's the lowest temp it has been on Cameron's grobag egg since he was born! Was 42 the day we brought him home in Sydney and has usually not been below high 20's here in Townsville. The dog is outside shivering and for the first time I've been able to dress Cameron in a LONG SLEEVED bodysuit!!
Flick, C was good to me the other night but last night feeds at 1 & 4 and resettling at 5. But I don't mind that so much as the fact we suddenly seem to be back to square one with daytime sleeps. The only thing I can put it down too is possible tummy pains after 1 day of no dirty nappies. God - can only imagine how grumpy he'd be after 6 days!
Yesterday only two 30min sleeps after hours of settling and today only a 15min nap this morning and finally 20mins into his second nap but have already had to resettle him once. Have done nothing all day except try and help him fall asleep. I'm hoping this is a brief brief phase and that by posting this he will decide to prove me wrong LOL. It just makes me sad to see him so tired & cranky and I'm embarrassed to say I temporarily lost my cool & yelled at him to shut up this morning followed by much guilty hugging & squeezing :o . I only want to use gentle techniques to settle him but sometimes wonder what the point is when he screams through all of those as much as if I left him in his cot to cry it out. Ok, feel a bit better now. Not getting to me as much as it did a couple of months ago when I was sick & exhausted but still frustrating.
Must go, he's awake again.......to try and resettle or not try and resettle, that is the question!

If you think it might be poo pains Cat, have you tried infants friend? I swear by it when katie hasnt been for 2 days, makes her settle eventually and a nice big poo seems to come that night or the next morning. might be a coincidence though but worth a try? Seems to take a hr or two to work but usually by late arvo shes much calmer.
It says its to settle tummys and make poo regular so maybe...

Thanks Tabby, may have to give the infants friend a go. I'm sure that's what it is. Lots of gurgling tummy sounds, lots of back arching & twisting and lots of not so sweet smelling bottom noises!
He's a bit happier for now after his last nap but doesn't last long if I'm not there to distract him. I always feel bad when I complain about the odd bad day we have because I know it could be much much worse. For the most part he is my  and a happy little man. Maybe that's what makes it extra hard to see him grumpy.

AND then rolled back... and sucked her foot which she hasn't done yet - shes only held it ANNNNNND she sat for about 15 seconds unaided before (with my hands hovering to catch a fall in any possible direction!)
arggghhhh she just rolled again... YAY!!!
THanks for the email about the meet Charis.. sorry I can't make it everone :( We're off to Melbourne for my Nans 80th... its the first time most of myfamily will get to meet Caitlin so should be fun! LukeandMatt's Mum - I know the feeling about going back to work, I start next week and Billy and Imani are booked in all day. Still I am not ready to give up BF - not sure what I should do
DragonflyBlu - Lots of :hugs: 's to you and Clea, you must be missing DH
AriesMoon - My AF only returned yesterday. In regards to Ovulation I found buying one of the ovulation kits from the supermarket helpful as I have a very long cycle (40 days). After a couple of months of testing I found that I ovulated smack bang in the middle (day 20) which fits the other theories on a 28 day cycle ovulate day 14 - so maybe there's a bit of a plan for you there
Us- shockers, I have been really sick for 3 days, shakes and shivers, fevers, feel like I have been hit by a truck, thought I had the flu but woke this morning with a really sore throat - saw the doctor and I have tonsilllitas (sp?). To top it all off Billy has been vomitting and runny poo and Imani has bad night coughs. I told x DH that I can barely look after myself and that he needed to take the kids last night (all night). Within 2 hours he rang to say that Billy had to come back as he couldn't put him to sleep and then at 2 am he came back with Imani as she was crying to come home. I felt like saying HELLO YOU ****HEAD I AM SICK AND YOU ARE THEIR FATHER. I can't believe that he is being so quick to hand them back and I had told him earlier that I just about fell over with Billy from being dizzy. Then today he was meant to keep Imani for a couple of hours after pre-school instead he promptly drops her back to me as he was feeling sick??? Hypocondriact I rekon. I don't ask him for much...anyhow enough venting:banghead: I just wish that he took some more responsibility for his children.

Hi everyone
Well I haven't been on in a while so I've only read a few posts so only a few personals - sorry.
karrina - just wanted to say that I hope everything is going ok and exDH is behaving himself.
Hels - We have a bumbo too - aren't they great (Although Coops has kinda figured out how to get out  ) And Coops has his jj which he goes in a couple of times a day for 5 - 10 min each time. He has been in his jj for about a month now - good exercise!
Strawberry - a HUGE congrats on the pg and on hearing the heartbeat the other day! I am starting to feel a bit clucky now I know someone who is pg!
Aries - congrats on the no tears when getting needles! both of you that is!
Cat13 - all the best with the settling. I've nearly lost my temper before too. But keep using the techniques you are comfortable with. And remember he knows you are there and does take comfort from you. I know I'd rather be held while I cried then laying on the bed by myself!
Tabby - Your DH should get workers comp as it is suppose to cover employees while getting to/from work, at work and anywhere they are required to be for work. I'd be getting your DH to fill in an incidence report at his work and getting to the Dr's as soon as possible to get him to write a report. You shouldn't have to suffer - especially with bubs to look after!
Us - well I think Coops has been teething for the last couple of weeks! Just been really grumpy and irritable. And the other day his gums were really red and swollen with big white bits showing - so hopefully they are here soon! We weighed him today and he was 7kg but he was wearing tracky dacks so he prob isn't that weight exactly. We have been doing a new routine (EASY routine) which I got from the Baby Whisperer which has been great. somedays are better then others but we are getting there.
Anyways must get going as I've already written enough!
Cheers, Shaz :)
cordelia ... rolling, sitting and playing with her feet? wow, caitlin is growing up fast!
Josh still hasn't rolled since last Tuesday night when he did it for the first time. Ok, he's been sick since, but he is getting better and I'm hanging out for the next time he rolls. I know I'll get over it quickly when he rolls EVERYWHERE, but it's still very much a novelty at the moment :).
karrina ... sorry to hear you're so sick and not getting heaps of support from xdh. I hope both things improve soon. :hugs:
shazza ... hi  cooper is getting out of his bumbo? mmm ... Josh hasn't worked that out yet thankfully.
sugar ... I hope you can get heating installed soon so that you'll be nice and warm. A few years ago our heater died at the start of winter. We didn't have the money to replace it that year and so had to wait 12 months. That was a VERY cold winter and we ended up with a big electricity bill instead of a big gas bill. :(

Shazza: Yep we still handed in the workers comp forms and gp papers etc. no resolve today so hes going to talk to them again tomorrow, if it does come under council grounds ( thats there reasoning ) even though only a few feet from the door we are going to at least fight for Mondays pay where he was sent home by managers after saying he couldnt afford a day off he was told to still go as would be under workers comp.
Am not sure if w.a law same for journeys etc to and from work ( thanks for the info! )so am going to call wc tomorrow and ask as their website isnt much help.
Glad the easy routine seems to be working!
Hope it continues, and the toothy peg pains ease real soon.
Cordelia: Wonderful things from Caitlin now!!! great stuff!
Karrina: BIG :hugs: sweety, nothing worse than being ill and NO help, wish I lived near you!!!!
Sugar: Hope you get heating sorted soon, getting rather chilly now thats for sure!
Katie still wont roll again lol, not bothered as we know she can, just dont think she wants to. Same here with the toe grabbing though, not sucking them yet but think the cloth nappy makes that a tad hard to get them that far
Lots of new sounds and one that could get boring rather quick, a nice big sreech!!! haha
she was doing it ALL day today, swear she would have made a sore throat.
Quite a odd day for K, 3 10 min naps and 1 for a hr, so not like her, also woke a bit about a hr after bed, again not like her. ah well, long as she still sleeps through I can handle it.
Early night for me
good sleeps to all xxx

HI! Oh I am so a day late, if only I'd done the Infants Friend yesterday. Tabby/Cat13 excellent timing. H was v grumpy all yesterday and red faced in constitpation (we did lots of bicycles/warm bath..etc). Cat13 I love the jackpot term he he he. Well yes, just as I thought today was the day for the pooanami, and somehow of course it happened halfway through a client-site meeting. I excused myself for a good 10mins! It was on everything, including his socks somehow. Thank goodness a change of clothes that still fits was still in nappy bag.
Oh and for eventful day, during our 6pm feed, both my cats came home for dinner, boy cat had something strange about his leg, on closer look was an AWFUL deep wide gouge!! He'd washed and washed it clean, but it was very awful. So  there's H who needs a bath and to go to bed and the cat who needs surgery. Who had then hidden under my bed.. hmm So I catch the cat after enticing attempts fail, Hunter lonely on his mat..we end up (me eating lasange while driving!) up the freeway at a 24hr vet hospital. Hunter very in awe of everthing, ie Balcatta (!)/the dark sky/street lights/large dogs/cats in carriers and just being out and about at night. YAH so The cat finally safe surgery tomorrow and hardly cried at all on the way. H fell asleep on the way home and of course was wired when he woke after that catnap, so just asleep now. HM Golly!!
But all in a day's work really!
Karrina, BIG hugs hon for sicky you. So so hard when you;re caring for both more than just 100%. Your xDP sounds like hard work. And v hard on you (and kids) not being able to rely on him. HMM. Take everything to get you well hon. garlic/lemon/chilli/honey hotwater infusion. ugh. So hard being sick and being a Mummy at the same time.
Cordelia WOW congratulations to Caitlin, that is all very clever and v agile. Great about the trip and your grans 80th, sorry we'll miss you!!
Cat13 big empathy about the DAY OF SETTLING. I remember thinking in the first few weeks that it was mad spending 1/3 a day settling. H still fights going to sleep, but ends up being a perfect bub sleeping an hour after being up for 1.5hr all day. But it is so draining sometimes getting him to sleep. Also agree gentle is the only way.. Yes I agree with Shazza I think its better we're holding them if they want to cry, though I've had the same thought. Great about the happy settled bub now.
Well enough excitement for one day.. NIGHT all xxS (oh yes I SO need a haircut, split end on split end, now all over my keyboard!!)

Morning!!
So funny - K was asleep in the cot just now and I heard her calling out and making a noise I had never heard b4. Went in and she had the covers right over her head. Ha Ha - very cute and she looked surprised when I pulled them off.
cheeki - Was so nice to read how much you are enjoying L and Z. So many people say "oh twins - double trouble" but after reading what you said I will always disagree. Ok so you have twice the nappies and washing and what not but also two times the lovely cuddly cute moments. And no matter what L and Z will ALWAYS have each other!!
Cat - don't feel bad about a bit of anger/resentment towards C when you are tired. Bit embarassed to say when DS was a baby and wouldn't stop crying one night I picked him up and actually understood for a brief moment how some people shake babies. snapped back to reality quickly and felt bad for my thoughts. Don't be too hard on yourself - we are all still learning in life.
Karrina - :hugs: and hope you and the kids are feeling better. Blardy men!!!
tabby - oh, can totally relate to the screeching thing. Kelsey does it so loud it hurts my ears. Also flapping arms and sharp fingernails - she keeps scratching my neck and face!!!
Thanks for the kind words of support regarding my MIL. rang my wonderful mum in Japan and had a talk and cry. so lucky to have her support so I feel better. And I am taking all of your advice and just doing whatever I want.
Well, have K screeching on my lap.
Take care
PS yes Cat it has been cold here last few days!! And will catch up soon. Just have lots of family arriving and organising to do for K's christening but haven't forgotten our coffee date!! oh, and speaking of poo's - I have one to change!!

lol poonami/jackpot nappys. Great term! Yet to have one here ner ner j/k . Have come close, a bit around the leg of nappy is all.
Charis; Poor kitty!!!! Hope hes ok? They can do some real damage cant they?! so far Monty ( our cat ) hasnt had anything and hes about 7 yrs old, been lucky with him, considering all the bully cats that come here to belt him up, mind you he has some HUGE claws and teeth so maybe hes getting the better of them lol.
Biggest drama here today! DP didnt get paid at all for those days off so 3 days short!!! This was the week where we were back on our feet financially!! * insert angry words here *
So im stressing so bad as dont know where we will get $ from for food /fuel etc, hes going to talk to them this morning, THEY sent him home damn it!!! He wanted to stay but they told him it would be wc claimed.
Sorry, just had to get that out, I feel so close to tears since saw pay total last night.
I had planned to go best and less and get Katie some clothes and now I can only afford minimum food never mind clothes! :crying:
Katie is sitting beside me in the walker, sliding door curtains open and talking to the dog and the cocky lol. Shes trying to work this bird out! her face is telling me shes not sure what on earth that is! lol

Karrina – :hugs: to you. I hope you get over your cold real soon. As for man they don’t don’t understand do they.
Aries – yay for no tears when x got his needles.
Cordelia - Congrats on the rolling and sitting.
Cheeki - Nice to hear how much you’re enjoying the twins.
Tabby – :hugs: :hugs: to you hun. I hope things look up for hubby.. I’d be going in and seeing the boss and tell them what you think.
Us - Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has given me well wishes and congratulated me on my pregnancy. Without all your support i’d be lost.
Perth Ladies – Thanks for the advice regarding areas to live. We’ll be getting a government house anyway but was wondering the best areas to live. We have friends living around the Kingsley area. Hubby doesn’t have a problem travelling to work, he’ll actually enjoy riding his bike to work lol.
Its my birthday tomorrow, Have no idea what hubby is doing for it. I think he’s taking me out to our favorite place ( Hogs Breath Cafe) no wine again this year(2nd year in a row). I know he’s trying to arrange a portable spa for me don’t know if thats for my b’day or i’m getting that just before we get posted out. Getting very interesting. Still no morning sickness. Everything is great at the moment. Talon is doing really well and i’m also loving the stage he’s in.
T has just woken up so i’m going to spend some time with him and i think hubby is taking me to the hairdressers.
Have a good day girls

Hey Tabby - chin up hun!!! I totally mucked up guessing kelsey's winter clothes size so if you want to PM me your addy again, I think I have 3 or 4 things she might like. They are 00's I think - would they fit her???
Oh, and forgot to say hope your kitty is better Charis. My animals are a big part of our family so know how worrying it is (we have 2 dogs, a cat and 3 horses!!!)

Have pmed you. Yep shes 00's
Hopefully DP comes home with some good news!!!
I know we will get there one day soon but was upset as thought it was today where our financial status lifted again so thats why its hit me hard I think.
Strawberry: thanks :hugs:. Have left DP to sort it as hes much more placid than me, me I would probably get him fired if went in there lol
I have a terrible tendency to fire up where my family is concerned. Best I stay away
Katie wont sleep cot for day naps, always been swing/pram or my arms but come night time shes a real angel and off to sleep no problems in there! I just tried again and she played / screeched then yelled and got upset.
Just that being in the main room to nap she gets woken often, phone/door etc. so was trying to get her nap in her room. No idea whats up with that
any ideas?

Hi everyone
Tabby - that really doesn't sound right about your DH's injury not being covered by workers comp. In NSW, it would be covered. I would definately make further enquiries. I will have a ferret around for you on the WA website and see if I can come up with some info for you (its pouring here and no car - so housebound!). Will pm you if I find something.
Charis - poor putty tat!
Strawberry - yaay for no morning sickness, especially around birthday time. Boo hoo about no wine though!
Us - absolutely nothing of interest to report here. Its so wild and woolly here in Sydney today and forecast to be like that all over the long weekend. Hope to have a nice family 3 days this weekend.
Karrina - yes, I agree with everyone else - Bloody men! I swear they have no idea when it comes to kids.

Hi-ya girlies,
LukeandMattsMum... hope you had/have a good first day back at work (sorry can't remember exaclty what I read).
Dragonfly...hope the wedding went well.
Karrina...:hugs: hope you start to feel better soon. Re: BF and work, are you able to express for 1 day ahead? If not, maybe you could FFwhile at daycare and BF at night?
Flicka...love the hat
Tabby...Could it be the lack of noise in Katies room during the day that is interfering with the daytime sleeps? Let me know if you're short on clothes (00) before the next Perth meet and I can go thorugh TJ's stuff and see what she's grown out of - yes we're already in 0 clothes:eek: .
Strawberry...Kingsley is the suburb north of us (Greenwood). DD1 and TJ's daycare is in Kingsley. Do you have a choice about the suburb you get relocated to?
Finally got a decent nights sleep last night. Was very  at work on Wed and Thur as I'd had a number of bad nights.
Very exciting news yesterday...my Sister (in Tassie) had a little boy:smiliedance: . First boy for either set of grandparents. He weighed in at 9lb8oz and 51cm long. They have named him Flynn James. Haven't seen a photo yet, am hanging out for one.
Had better go, got a million things to get finished at work today.

Thanks Mouse, Ill try again late arvo nap with the radio on in the bathroom..(opposite room).
Ill let you know how we are for clothes closer to time yes, My parents collect their inheritance from Nanna soon and have said a shopping spree for Katie is the first thing on their agenda :D. So if thats so then someone else may need them more.
The pay out keeps getting held up though!!
Another Q for yous, Whenever k has juice/water she seems to bring most of it back up, Have just tried the heinz fruit juice also ( gentler on bubs tummy ) but same again. Shes definitely thirsty but most comes back up. Not sure if its the reflux issue, if so what do I do??? Cant thicken water/juice&water.
Spa: If I remember right it was the temperature that is the problem spas, usually too hot.
We had a planned w.e away spa suite when preg, but that you can set your own temp so alls good.

Hi Ladies, definitely much busier in here again!
Flicka, I think I guessed wrong for C's winter wardrobe too. I though 00's would do us fine especially since he's not the biggest bub but now wishing I'd bought 0's with more room to grow into - the 0's looked so massive though! Very excited actually cool enough all of a sudden so he can actually wear his winter clothes before he outgrows them. Hehe...we'll get round to that coffee eventually!
Charis, hope your cat is ok. I love my kitties but wish they didn't love getting into so much trouble. Both have been to the vet more times than I care to count, either cat fights or accidents. Most expensive time was when one of them ran into my car as I pulled into the driveway & broke her jaw and had to take her to 24hr emergency. She is not the smartest cat LOL.
Karrina, hope you are feeling better soon despite complete lack of any help or clue from ex-DH.
Congrats on the birth of your nephew Mouse. I have to say that for the most part the cluckiness I'd been feeling for a while has faded but does come back with news like this or when I see a tiny newborn at the shops like I did today.
No help at all to you Tabby on day sleeps in cot or drinking water/juice as we have no experience with either.
Cordelia - Yay for all the milestones all at once. What a clever girl!
And last but not least, happy bday for tomorrow Strawberry happybirthday

Well for the first time in AGES Katie woke 130am, she was wide awake! So I decided a nappy change and a small bottle would fix and it did, no idea why she woke....
Also DP's workers comp is being reviewed by the ins company work so :fingerscrossed:. Till then IL's have lent some $ that we were shorted, luckily! So all good again. Feel much better

Hi everyone,
Sorry havent posted in ages... but i've been reading the posts.
Strawberry - happybirthday Hope you had a great day!
Today i have been busy organising Sierra's room. Finally got the cot finished & i've been able to set her room up. Its been great to finally be able to do it. Still have a few things to buy but it looks nice so far. Here are a few pics of what i've done so far.

We wanted to get a bookshelf too but its quite a small room & probably wont fit. But we'll see.
Sierra has been really good. Been a little grumpy today & yesterday but i think its just teething. She's been sleeping really well... so cant complain.
Well have to go get the little ones ready for bed.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Take care

happybirthday STRAWBERRY!!!!
tired Mummy - Love the room. wish I had done a 'girly' theme for Kelsey. Poor dear just had the same stuff as her brother!
tabby - :fingerscrossed: the dollars come thru (and rightly so too). I'll send you those few bits next week when I venture out to the shops.
kelsey has been unsettled today. She has been having really short naps and has been a bit grumpy/grizzly. I can't feel any teeth yet but feel sure that is what it is. She is getting more clingy with me and even cries when I pop her on the bed while I go to the loo!!! I have to do an acrobatic type stance hovering over the loo so she can still see me. Ahhh - the things we do to keep our kids happy!!
Off to spend some quality time with DH.

Lovely room tired_mummy! I'd love a bookcase as well - we have so many hand-me-down books for Caitlin sitting in cardboard boxes.. mind you, I don't know where it would fit in her room - our bedrooms are pretty small.
Flicka - I can't picture you doing an acrobatic thingy on the toilet!! But I think it's very funny :P
Strawberry - Happy Birthday :) Hope you're getting spoiled!!
Tabby - Caitlin woke at 1:30 too last night... maybe that was the coldest part of the night in Perth or something ... killed me!
mouse - I loooove the name Flynn... how exciting for your family!!
Well.. my dinner si served - roast chicken! I am so spoilt on the weekends

Hi-ya girlies,
Tabby...have you tried the water with a slower teat? Until recently TJ has always had her water from a bottle with a teat one size slower than her milk bottles.
Tired...love the room. We've got a bookcase for the kids books (books are my weakness) in the general living area.
An ok night here last night TJ woke at 12, 3.45 then 7.45. Gave her a huge feed of rice at 5.30 this afternoon, so hopefully that keeps her tummy a bit fuller for longer tonight. She's had a bit of an upset tummy again since Thursday.
Managed to get into my garden for a while today, it was great! Though it made me realise how much more time I need to spend in it to get it back to it's normal state.
Big sleeps for everyone,
Lisa

Hi gorgeous girls!!
And Happy Birthday Strawberry Shortcake :smiliedance:
Thanks all for the thoughts about poor pussy cat. He has so many sutures down his leg, ugh. But a much happier cat and even got Sirena tuna for tea with his normal food. Though is v grumpy that his catdoor is permanently closed (till he heals). Hunter makes the cutest noise to the cats, not a meow quite but a noise just for cats, a hello in 'cat'.
Flicka wow so many animals at your place. Feeding time must be busy :) Wonderful connection to the world. Horses particularly, such beautiful animals and understanding.
Sorry to hear about K being unsettled. It makes it so much harder. When they can talk, I wonder is it easier?
TiredMummy beautiful room for Sierra. WOW a lot of time spent on it, looks great. So is she moving in, or have you been decorating around her?
Tabby way old reply about day sleeps in cot, H does, he doesn't really have a choice..except for the car which has become a BIG sleep association (oops). I read somewhere that they'll sleep an hour by themselves (45mins more like) or 2hrs next to you. We have hr long sleeps after 1.5hr of being awake (3-4 during the day)..he still cries for a few moments, but then is asleep.
Loved the 'hovering of toilet' line Flicka he he. Hunter has been to too many public toilets with me this week (in babybjorn!)
Hunter is getting frustrated about things, wanting to grab things, scrunch things..or when you move a toy away. But he is just beautiful and very very smiley. Oh and can sit in his highchair!!(and bang things!):smiliedance: Not eating yet, but HANDS FREE MUMMY, yah!
MouseBrown lovely lovely news about Flynn. Also that you got into the garden!!YAH and such a lovely arvo.
Cordelia yum about dinner served for you!!
H and I went to a friends surprisebaby shower last night, when it got to the 'fill in nursery rhyme blanks' and 'taste and guess baby food' I think she really had a bit of a freakout about the reality of it all..8wks to go. I can remember a v v similar feeling, still have it somewhat about schooling/discipline/driving! etc but I guess you realise that you have time to adapt and prepare as they grow older..though I'm still freaked out a bit about baby food! Was a lovely night and H properly got to bed at 11..and then woke at 6, then had the get into bed/feed/snooze, so a lovely sleep in. ARH. xxNite.

Katie woke again, this time twice but settled again quickly, 11pm and 1am. SOOOoo not used to that,
Hope you didnt get any Cordelia? yep feel like **** this morning now.
Think its her teeth, not a huge problem just a bit owies at times.
Charis: glad pussy is ok! lol at the hello meow, we had a cat like that.
Flicka: thanks :hugs:
LOTS of dadadada since yesterday. almost constant lol. A few mum mums in there but not many yet. oh and that growl/squeal sound, quite loud lol.
I got some pre-made nappys of monkeys undies
SO cute! Must take a pic today to show them off.

Tiredmummy: The room looks just lovely! Well done.
Cheeki: Know what you mean about cheeki & funny etc. Katie is like that, and we are too. Find the funny side of just about everything if we can. Hence why she just giggles/laughs for no reason and never without a smile no matter how tired/hungry.
Am sure wont be long for dadada's etc , Katie only just started here and there the odd one last week now its constant.
We went to the swap meet this morning and got a high chair, its a blue care bear one, $25! In great condition, also got some clothes for K, huge sigh from DP when I purchased the winnie-the-pooh one with ears, haha have to take a pic later when dressed in it. Got 5 jumpsuits for $10, and a tupperware shape-o for 4 and a toy phone for 2. Should have been going there before now! though tiredness was a issue before with the early outting for it.

Very very sleepy mummy here, lots of unsettled nights in a row with 2 or 3 feeds & lots of resettles. Don't think I've had more than 2 hours sleep in a row the last 3 nights. YAWN!Very rosy cheeks yesterday but no temp so maybe teething although his gums don't look any different. Flicka, sounds like Cameron & Kelsey are following similar patterns at the moment.
Tabby, I'm after one of those Tupperware shape-o's too. Actually, I'm after a fair bit of tupperware so contemplating having a party!
Cheeki, I thinks it's amazing how the twins each obviously have their own very unique personalities. Cameron likes a giggle but he definitely has a serious side too. Do not try and beat him in a staring competition!

Hi
Cat - yes, very unsettled here the last few nights too. I haven't had more than about 2 hrs in a row either!!! I was actually thinking it might be the cold. kelsey's hands have been FREEZING the last few nights and she wriggles out of her blankets. So, I have put a little fan heater (with a safety cut off) in her room tonight so hope she sleeps better. Keep me posted re: tupperware as I could do with some more baby bowls etc.
Tabby - Well done on the swap meet shopping. I went to bunnings today and spent money on plants that I will inevitably kill!!!
Talking - no talking really here. Occasionally sounds like kelsey says mum but I think it is just a noise that means she is hungry. Lots of loud squeals though.
Agree with what lots of you have said - it is so nice to see their little personalities developing. Kelsey is generally a very contented and happy bubba but my gosh she has a really serious side too. Will probably be moody like her mum!!!
Yeah, gotta love the personality developing already! Josh is a smiley, happy baby most of the time and pretty relaxed. My nephew who is the same age is a very serious little man who is always looking at what is going on.
Josh is finally almost 100%. I can't believe how long he's been sick. He rolled last night for the 2nd time, after a 10 day break. Then, this afternoon he rolled multiple times and again tonight. After his rolling this afternoon he slept for 3 hours! I kept waiting for him to wake up so I could feed him and then cook dinner ... he was due for a feed at 6pm, but I didn't get to start dinner til nearly 7:30pm! :) After his rolling tonight he is asleep and I haven't had to rock him to sleep! Ah, bliss! dh is working evenings this weekend, so I'm on my own - hence my joy!
Josh is really enjoying his swing that we have borrowed. He enjoys swinging, but surprisingly he enjoys the play table part that comes with it more than the swing. It plays music, has flashing lights and a little mirror. It kept him busy for over half an hour at lunchtime so I could cook my lunch.

Morning all
Hope everyone had a great weekend?
Mim: glad Josh is so much better! heh wore himself out with the rolling?
Cat: Yep was feeling rather pleased I got the shape-o, had it with both ds1 and 2 and know how much they loved it.
Hope you got a better night? :hugs:
Flicka: LOL You made me wonder if Katie will have any of my personality, poor dear, so hope not lol
Not so much moody but I can be a right b!tch at times. hmm maybe that is moody?
I dont think she will though, she seems so happy go lucky ALL the time. Shes like a breath of fresh air to everyone.
I remember as kid/teen being the grumpiest little **** in the morning LOL. Took me to my 20's to get past that.
Where as Katie's first thing on waking is to smile and chatter away no matter how bad a night or little sleep.
She woke so many times last night I lost count, stopped counting at about 10 times, not fully awake ones, just moan/grizzle ones where I go in give the dummy and back to sleep.
Her teeth still I think..They keep going up down up down, had heard that can happen but not actually had it with the boys. Maybe thats why they dont bother her too much...Less painful if slow..but now they actually staying up..ah so confusing no matter how many times youve been there before LOL
Hope everyone else got a better sleep xx
Josh definitely wore himself out. He fed at 10pm and was asleep by 11pm. I was shocked when I woke up and it was 6am! He's been going for maximum 4 hours at night for weeks on end and suddenly it was 8 hours! Eik! I freaked out ... of course he was fine and he was just stirring and was awake about 10 minutes later :). He was a hungry baby boy!
tabby ... sorry to hear you had such a bad night, hope you have a good day.
cat & flicka ... did you have a better night ? I accidentally left the ducted heating on overnight and I wonder if that is one reason why josh slept better.

Hello Ladies,
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a great day on Saturday. Didn’t get up to much and the best thing was I didn’t ever walked into the kitchen. Was told to stay out lol.
Cate – happybirthday for today. I hope your trip to Stanthorpe was enjoyable and wasn’t to cold for you.
Mousebrown – Yes we have a choice on what suburb we want to live in. It also depends if there is any houses available at the time we are looking.
Tired*mummy – Sierra’s room is gorgeous. I’m looking for a bookcase for T’s room at the moment.
Tabby - :hugs: to you hun. Sorry to hear you had a bad night with K. Let hope she sleeps better for you tonight.
Not much is happening here today. Talon is abit grumpy. Felt his gums and looks like he’s cutting his 2 top teeth now.
I made a video of Talon.

Thanks Tabby & Mim, we had a much better night last night. Took ages to put him to bed & he still stirred every 2 hours or so but I stayed in bed listening via the monitor while he took 5mins or so to settle himself each time until it was wake-up time at 6.30am. Even though it was still a cool night, last night I put the aircon on fan only - I think it may have been the absence of the air-con noise making it harder for him to stay settled. Flicka, how did you go with the heater?
Glad you had a good bday Strawberry.
Tabby, hope Katies teeth stop bothering her (and you!) so much at nighttimes.
Mim, hope Josh keeps up the longer night sleeps for you. When C does pull a good night sleep off I find we have a much better day - he has such a good feed in the morning and we seem to fall into a much better routine for the day.
Off to enjoy the public hol watching DVD's (while consuming cake & coffee) with DH. A nice cosy day!

Oh no wonder rather quiet here, long w.e east?
Strawberry, that was just lovely! thankyou for sharing the video. Noticed how long his fingers were at birth..Going to be tall like dad?
and Awwww at Talon in his ugg boots! So cute.
Thanks Mim, Strawberry and Cat, At least her day sleeps are not affected, its when they are as well that I think it wears us down. Mummy nap later for me lol.
Mim: Could be..Do you think he may have been getting cold? Time will tell I suppose, if off tonight see what happens maybe? Katies hands were rather cold so may even be the case here and not teeth. Havnt been able to afford the heater for her room just yet, next pay for sure though!
Until then I run the lounge gas heater from early eve to warm her room up down the hall way.
But that doesnt keep in warm early hrs of course.

tired mummy I love the rom, your cot looks so cosy. You have inspired me, I have such a nice cot but at the moment I have a crapy flannel sheet on it and a pink cot blanket. But I saw a nice cot doona type thing that I think I am goingtp splurge and buy. It actually never occured to me that I could make up the cot and lay Clea on top of the nice looking cover so then I dont have to keep pulling it out to put her in it. Silly me. She has so much control now, rolling around and picking things up I dont need to tuck her in so tight now anyway.
Day sleeps Must be something about the age, we are lucky to get 3x30 minute naps!
cat13 good idea about the noise I have just put the fan heater on for Clea with the door open so she doesnt get thirsty and wake for a feed. Hopefully she willhave a long nap.
video of talon riley :yelclap: great work.
strawberryshortcake hope you had a good b'day, cate happybirthday
US well we went to the wedding in Newcastle and Friday was pretty rainy so decided not to drive home, and the day proceeded to get worse! We were stuck at MIL for 2 days. Drove home Saturday morning while it was calm, but so much flooding! :hugs: to anyone who has been affected. MIL had a blackout and she lives on lake macquarie and their Jetty ended up on the neighbours lawn.
The wedding was on Thursday so it rained but could have been worse...
Clea is rolling so much that I cant leave her. Yesterday I left the room with her on the floor on a blanket and came back and she had rolled about 5 metres and was under the table. she was fine but I got a shock. So now I take her with me or strap her in the pram. I was only gone for about 15 seconds (to the loo). She laughs more now. Funny to hear the different developmental milestones, Clea is really active and strong, but she hardly laughs and has no teeth, and other bubs have teeth and are alomost talking and laughing. Interesting. Thats what so good about bubhub, we get to hear about heaps of bubs not just a few in a mums group.
I splurgded on ebay last night and got about $70 worth of clothes, including a bundle of about 7 things for winter. I was waiting until I get to germany but I am running out of warm stuff that fits.
dragonfly ... so, one of your first purchases in germany will be a playpen? :) Josh has just been grunting and yelling at himself today in his attempts to roll over and hasn't actually rolled today. It's so cute at how frustrated he gets. I must admit I hadn't thought about the fact that once he can really roll I won't be able to leave the room!
I'm glad you were safe and had somewhere to stay whilst the bad weather closed in.
tabby ... yeah, I'll see what I can do about the room temp tonight and see if he does a repeat performance. He is completely exhausted from all his rolling practice though and it has meant lots of long day time sleeps today which has been great! He's currently chilling out in his swing :)

3 sleeps til our holiday! YAY! Unfortunately, Caitlin has the sniffles which I hope doesn't develop into a full blown cold - I can't imagine what her ears would do in the plane if she was all blocked up...
Question re flying in the plane: I want to feed her go up and down to aleviate ears popping - do the seatbelts allow you to breastfeed or should I express into a bottle? And will a dummy do for sucking or does it have to be liquid??
I'm just freaking out about this cold she seems to be getting!
Another question re flying in the plane: We're taking her pram and her carseat..... do people usually just chuck them in as is.. or do you think I need to put them in a ... garbage bag? or ... I don't know???
THANKYOU!!!
Hope all these non-sleeping-wellers improve tonight!! Caitlin took ages to go down last night but I think its' because of the sniffles... I no longer have to rock her!! I just lay next to her on our bed and pat her and sing then transfer her to the cot... hopefully the next step will be to put her into the cot and pat her and sing.... This morning I laid her down at 7:30am for her morning sleep and we both woke to the phone ringing at 10am! HOW BAD IS THAT!! I wont tell poor DH who leaves for work at 6:30am!
Lovely video Strawberry :) I've made a few too that I should put up on the net - I think they're going to be so precious when she gets older!

CORDELIA- re: checking in your pram for the flight, they will wrap it up with like a bubble wrap type stuff so it won't get damaged, they may do the same for your carseat. I have obviously just looked into all this stuff for myself! Re: the feeding, you should still be able to breastfeed. I sat beside 2 bf'ing mums on a flight last year and they managed it with the seatbelt, at least you have the option to give bottle though!! I would if x would let me!!
Been a bit hectic around here so not much time to post, but have been checking up on everyone for the most part. I'm having a pretty s*it time with X so don't get a lot of time for anything really. Really looking forward to getting home for the sake of my sanity, which isn't doing so well right now.
Hope everyone's well, will try and get back on in a few days:wave:
oh ya, since we're on the topic of videos, here's the latest one we made of X, we have to make them often for my family at home to put on his website so here's his:

hey all havent done much lately but have only been popping in here briefly
ashton is rolling heaps aswell. wont be long and he will be crawling. They are so much fun arent they at this age?
well we bought a reverse cycle air con today so should have it by next wk:yelclap:. i dont like the cold mornings. Mum and dad bought it and we are paying them back. love them.
look after yourselves:wave:
sugar ... :smiliedance: about the reverse cycle air con - they are great! They warm up the room so quickly in winter!
Love the videos aries and strawberry!
Strawberry ... I noticed talon in his play gym/walker thingie, does he really like it? I'm thinking about getting one for josh and wondered if they are worth it? Josh prefers to sit rather than stand, but they stand in this don't they? I'm trying to decide if I just get a highchair and put toys on that instead ... so many decisions !

Hi
Mim - So glad Josh is feeling a bit better and had a good sleep.
Mim and Cat - I do think the heater helped Kelsey sleep a bit better. She still got a up a few times but was happy to go back to bed again. AND she usually stays awake after her feed at 5ish but today she slept another couple of hours which was great. I think it was just so nice and warm and cosy.
Tabby - Poor Katie and her teeth!!!
Cordelia - Feeding on the plane is no dramas. They give you a little seatbelt that hooks onto yours and then around bub. It is just a strap around their tummy so very easy to turn them around and feed and what not. As for your pram and car seat - mine has never been wrapped for me. We actually have a cheapie lay back stroller that we bought to take on the plane to MIL's when we visit in case it gets damaged. However, maybe they wrap them if you ask. (My gear has never been damaged regardless). Also was told to put some euky bear or the like (it's like vicks) onto bubs singlet/chest as this can help with the pressure. And if caitlin is asleep when you go up or down - don't bother waking her to feed. I only feed when bub is awake and have never had any dramas. Sorry for the mountain of advice!!! have a great trip!
We had a lovely day at home. Kelsey has been a little sweetie but still seems a bit bothered by her teeth. I think I can sort of see a tooth coming through (white spot).
DS calls from his bed (he wants a cuddle)
Take care

Mim1 – Yes Talon loves his walker. It plays music and makes heaps of noises. It swivels around also, so he doesn’t have to stay in one place. T can either sit in it or can stand up (depending what mood he’s in lol). I did the high chair thing but I was constantly putting things back onto the highchair after he kept throwing them out. So personally I think it’s a great investment. BTW Target having a sale on two types of walkers (sale finishes Wednesday).

Cordelia...although it's already been said, BFis allowed and dummies are a good backup. It's probably too late now, but we hire carseats etc at our destination rather that subjecting ours to baggage handlers. Have a great time!
Aries...:hugs: :hugs: not long now, keep hanging in there!
Sugar...brrrrrrrrrr! Good to hear you've got a heater. I have ours on most mornings just to warm up the room.
Another cr@ppy night from TJ last night. Don't know if I fed her too much rice for tea, but she fed at 1, then was sort of awake at 4 and stirred continually until waking at 6.30. DD1 was in bed with me at 6 (which is later than the 5.30 on Sunday morning).
Have started giiving TJ two feeds of solids during the day. Am hoping this will have a positive effect on her night time sleeps. DD1 was sleeping through by 4 months, so I can't figure out why TJ is still waking for a full bottle at least once.
Had a first haircutting incident with DD1 today. She did it while I was watching (but obviously not paying enough attention). Found a couple of clumps of hair before it clicked. No more scissors for her for a while. Have threatened I will get it all cut off, "like yours mummy?", if she does it again. And although DH would object, that's exactly what I'll do.
DH flies in tomorrow. Don't know if it will help my tiredness or hinder it (more washing, cooking and cleaning to do).
Sound sleeps everyone,
Lisa

Mim: let me know how it goes, Ive added extra warm clothes on Katie tonight to see if improves here.
We have a walker and katie LOVES it! They can sit or stand in it. Hence the little seat sack thing so they sit down in if want to. She mostly sits but every now and then stands up and yells lol
She sits near the back door in the morning sun watching the dogs & cockatoo in the mornings chattering away. I have had them for all three and personally think they are wonderful. I sit here browsing and having my coffee.
Toys r us usually have at least one type half price. Ours isnt a fancy play one, more a walker with tray, Katie now thinks its funny to throw the toys off it lol

We have the high chair as well now but she doesnt like to sit in it as long as the walker, she can move backwards in it too so I think thats why she likes it more..
Aries: :hugs: sweety, not long now and youll be home!

Morning all,
Mouse: Hope you got a better night last night.xx
Flicka: Glad you had a lovely day home yesterday.
Sugar: Yay for the new aircon. Not long now for warmth for yous.
Cordelia: In case I forget ill say "have fun" now. Hope you have a great time away hun. Hope Caitlin travels well and fingers crossed the sniffles are just that and nothing more.
dragonflyblu: who needs to crawl when you can roll everywhere hahha. well done Clea! I would have got a shock too. Katie still isnt, did weeks ago then nothing since, she gets all the way over then feels her self about to and promptly stops it.
Mim: How did you go last night? We only had one wake so maybe was the cold? Hope you did better too.
Katie is in the walker beside me as usual each morning, miss smarty pants can now move all different directions this morning not just backwards. Now if I can just get her to stop throwing her toys off! cheeky monkey
Matter of time till shes chasing me round the house in it I think LOL.
Thanks for the suggestions on walkers/exercisers ... I will look at target and toysrus. I'd looked in both catalogues, but only looked at the swings, didn't realise there were walker things on mega special too.
Josh woke at 1am and 6am, a 5 hour gap is still an improvement on a few days ago :). Unfortunately dh's car needed to be at the dealer for a service first thing this morning, so I've been up since 6am ... oh well :(.

Hi Everyone,
Talon had a great sleep last night. He went from 7.30 to 8 this morning:yelclap: I have a Grobag Egg thermometer in his room. Its always at the recommended temperature. So hes room is never cold. Maybe thats why he always sleeps so well or maybe hes like his daddy and loves his sleep lol. He didn't have much weet bix this morning, so i'm guessing his 2 top teeth are annoying him:( . He went back to bed at 9.30 so now he's asleep i better get in and mop the floor and do a load of nappies.
Will get on later
Take care all

Morning ladies
Not a bad night but ages to put to bed again but slept 10pm-4.30am. Absolutely no pattern. Some days are 2 3hour sleeps, some days 2 30min sleeps. Some nights up every couple of hours, some nights sleeps through. If only I knew in advance which one was coming up so I could plan my day.
Dragonfly, my in-laws are on Lake Macquarie too. MIL was supposed to fly up here on Sat morning to join FIL and visit for the long weekend but couldn't make it to Sydney airport for her flight due to the weather. She wasn't game to do the drive in the storms & flooding & I don't blame her. Have had to change her flights to the October long weekend - for a processing fee of course.
I'm also watching a few bulk lots of clothes on ebay - due to get a bargain unless someone jumps in & outbids me at the last minute. I can't believe the size of some of the bulk lots people have to sell. Some people obviously buy way more clothes for bubs than I do. Cameron probably has the bare minimum but it's not like he can complain yet about wearing the same thing everyday :D .
Strawberry, I have a grobag egg too but not much use up here in the tropics. I am yet to see it blue or green but finally it is on orange and not red all the time! I hate the sad :-( face the egg is always showing me!!
Defence is flying DH up to Cairns tomorrow for his ankle operation so C and I will be on our own again another couple of nights. Feel bad sending DH off to go through an op on his own but Defence only covers his transport & accom and its about a 4hour drive from here. Oh well, I guess he's a big boy and probably not much I can actually do to help anyway. Will just have to give lots of TLC once he's back home.
hope u all have a great day - better go hang out my load of nappies to dry. I like the baby beehinds nappies but take sooooooooooooooolong to dry.

hi all
been a bit slack the last few days in posting...lol!
cat - i know what you mean aobut no pattern, i feel the same, each day/night is quite different!!
mim - hope that you start getting better sleeps!
well, i have got my date to go back to work 16 July - which is now only 5 weeks away!!! I have managed to negotiate one day per week from home on a wed, so that will break up the week....my DH will be staying home full time with Geoffrey, so will be a big change and role reversal....i am trying not to think about it too much, just enjoying every day as I know its going to go so fast!!
Geoffrey is exactly 6 mths today, can't believe how fast that has gone..

Hi girls,
I haven't had chance to read all of the thread so I hope all mums and bubs are doing well.
Here's a quick update from us...
Reece did his first roll from front to back yesterday :yelclap:
He's still sleeping well and not on solids just yet, but it won't be long.
We had a professional photographer come to the house yesterday and he took loads of photos of us. We get to look at them and chose what we want this Wednesday evening, I can't wait. We got loads of smiles and R was really well behaved.
We also caught up with MIL yesterday and R was really good all arvo. So hopefully the unsettled behaviour has passed for now :fingerscrossed:
I have my Mother's Group meet tomorrow at one of the girl's houses and then week it is at my place
Last week I caught up with the Feb girls again for lunch, which is always good fun.
So in a nutshell, things are really good here. R is just lovely and we have a great social life at the moment :p

Hello ladies
I havent been in here for a while. I did a post when the thread changed months but I think it got lost. There are too many pages to catch up with personals so i'll just blab about us hehe
I've been busy doing homework and housework for a change. Hubby was complaining about my slackness so i think i've made up for it in the past couple of weeks. I also have an exam on thursday for my accounting studies so :fingerscrossed: for me. I havent done an exam for years!!
Macy is rolling all over the place. I put her down in the lounge room and then have to go searching for her under the coffee table or wherever she has rolled. I dont think she will be far off crawling either. She just needs a bit more upper body strength and know how and then I'll be in real trouble!!
She is also teething. Her bottom tooth is so close to coming through. Ive sent hubby to the chemist so I can get some sleep tonight. She has gone from sleeping from 11-8:30 every night to waking every couple of hours. At least she only needs re-settling and not a feed or anything.
We have are busy for the rest of the week. Tmrw I am going to the Guns 'n' Roses concert here which I cant wait for! My inner bogan loves their music. If you know anyone in Adelaide that wants a spare ticket let me know, although it is very short notice
Thursday I have a dentist appointment and my exam - what a combination!!
Then Friday we are off to catch up with a friend from high school who has just had a bubba
Well I hope everyone is well and the bubbas are happy and healthy
xx

ah gunners should be a great concert!
Clea is waking more than normal. is there a normal for babies???? i put her in bed at about 7 after her bath and feed. then she wakes at 8 or 8.30. i resettle her. then she wakes about an hour later. doesnt settle, wants boob,. has a feed and wakes up! i am feeding her now so :fingerscrossed: she goes back to sleep in her cot.
i love sleeping with her, but she is starting to not go for big sleep unless i go with her. very hard when she is not having long day naps and i just want some time to email and wash the dishes etc. oh well, it will pass. tomorrow i am going for a long walk just to get some head space while clea (ideally) sleeps in pram or looks around.

hi!!
Dragonflyblu, yes v similar evenings here too. The routine of cluster feed either side of a bath has disappeared the last three nights. H would still go to sleep 7.30/8 and then less than 10mins later would be awake again. Makes working 9-11 v hard..but that's not for him to know. Last night I realised he was looking at any light source, so turned every light in the place off. (funny at 8pm!) Same tonight. He used to feed to sleep off the boob, maybe he's outgrowing this as tonight was over food (stuffed full he said) and settled with rocking+dummy instead. I guess they are growing and changing in getting to sleep as much as their minds/bodies are changing.
H does some back to fronts. Also SAT for a great deal of time at Playgroup yesterday.A gorgeous 6month old was being a great mentor and the mats are super solid rubber..so all a bit bolstered I think.
DFB, I wash the dishes while H is happy twisting and rolling on his playmat. I feel less bad about this than what I did this morning..which was WAKE HIM UP! He jumps into bed with me for bit of food and snooze from 6 till a decent hour..but had to leave at 7.20 for a meeting!! So felt so awful stroking him awake and he looked so surprised and just bundled him into the car (all packed). He got through a 3hr meeting pretty well..and then spent the arvo at his Nanas while I worked. All a bit full on..and all no where as important as he is! Day off tomorrow. We did spend some time talking to teenage calves..and looking at paddocks, trees and horses, so not all dreadry.
WOW about Macy, teeth + rolling, wow!
Also happy 6months to Geoffrey. happybirthday x 0.5. I think we all have the same very clear memory of you heading into labour Jacstar and coming back on the FIRST MUM!! A v memorable time..and that is just for us!
Hels great to hear from you again. Woohoo about the professional shots.
Cat13, I so hear you about wishing for some routine of time.. it is also each day as it comes here. (of course why that 'evil' contented baby book is so appealling!) After the 3hr meeting (which included a sleep+feed), Hunter had a 2hr sleep, WHAT! Wow. It all depends on what time he wakes up, sometimes 7, 7.30, 8..maybe I should set an alarm (yeah right!) but am just mostly v happy to take each wonderful day as it comes. Love little nose scrunchy one so much. New skill today..!!
he he about people buying so many ebay bulk lot clothes :) I bidded on some 0s the other night..are we all upping each others bids!
LOL Tabby about your gorgeous K almost chasing you around the house in walker! I do need to know what a walker is :) THANKS all Perth girls for the replies. Looking forward to next Tues v much. Of course we'll leave a space for Caitlin and Cordelia. One day we'll all be together..with StrawbShorty :)
okay okay,get off..go to sleep.
Josh did not listen about sleeping through :( He was rolling lots yesterday and I think he wanted to keep doing it in his cot! He also had his first taste of food last night. I have seen him watch me eat and I thought he was ready, but I didn't realise he'd be SO ready! He couldn't get enough! He tried to grab the spoon and bowl for more, or my arm to put the spoon in his mouth again! He probably got 2 teaspoons full of farex and clearly he's a fan! But, then he woke at 2am for a feed, going back to sleep (eventually!!!) by 3am, only to wake screaming at 4:20am (dh got up and dealt with him then) and for his breakfast at 6:20am. He's just going to sleep now. So, I don't know if the farex was a bit much for his tummy. I'll probably give him some again tomorrow, but in the morning.
Going to see the paed this morning. Everytime we go Josh screams for the rest of the day after having his tummy pressed. Hopefully it doesn't happen today as I'm tired. Speaking of which I might go back to bed for a little bit.
Sorry for no personals.

Hi ladies
Mim - Just a thought regarding starting on farex. Maybe little Josh did have a tummy ache as I think you are only supposed to start off with a quarter to half a teaspoon on the first day and increase it over a number of days.
Ebay - I am always looking at things but haven't bought any clothes for kelsey yet. have been eyeing off a few little girly sets and dresses for summer but haven't made a move yet!!
Well, Kelsey was just sitting here on the bed while I was catching up on posts and then I heard this 'crack' noise. Turned around and she had hit herself really hard in the face with her plastic butterfly. Poor thing looked so shocked followed by some really sad cries. Poor little girl, she just hasn't quite got control of her arms yet.
Take care ladies.....I'm off to put polly pocket (Kelsey) to bed!

Mim: Sorry to hear of the bad night again!
Hopefully the paed can help.
I remember in the beginning of katies intro to solids she had way too much on one the first days and boy did she suffer that night belly aches and at the first sign of upset tummy I used infants friend. even if I was wrong its ok, it helps keep her regular and says good for gums when teething too.
I learnt to feed her breakfast when first solids and not dinner, that way any aches hopefully resolved by bed time
Strawberry: Lovely sleep from Talon!
Cat: :hugs: for your not being able be with DP, as you say can make up for it when home.
Hope all goes well for him.
jacstar: Happy 6 months for Geoffrey!!!!!
Hi Hels! Glad your having many outtings and enjoying them, Ive just started getting out much more too lately, feel much better for it yep! more sane? lol
korah: wow have fun gnr's concert! Should be awesome!!! and congrats Macy's rolling everywhere, even if it is to under the table lol.
dragonflyblu: hope you got a better night too. xx
aww cheeki: Hope you got some sleep after that post hun! :hugs: and hope the wakeful nights dont last long!
Flicka: poor bubba, we get plenty of those whacks on the face now too. Soon as I hear it I look and wait for the reaction as to wether it was a bad one or not. so far most times not so just get the look of " what the...?" hahhaha
massive post! better go
Hope there was some good sleeps there last night
wasnt one here again! up several times..I dont know!!!
another quick post, sorry for no personals.
Josh is off zantac! Yeah! At least for a trial. If he is ok after 3 days then he doesn't need it anymore. Apparently his chance of success is 90%! Wow, not having to express twice a day or make up zantac and clean bottles - what joy! The paediatrician was very happy with him.
We also had a little shopping trip this morning and Josh is now the proud owner of a Jolly Jumper (which he loves already!) and the soon to be owner of a highchair (it was out of stock and arrives tomorrow).
I'm going to hold off on solids again til this 3 day trial is over, then I'll try again and go nice and slow. :)
Better go do a million things cause I'm expecting a challenging afternoon when he wakes up.

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted for a while but still reading along. I never seem to have time to post once I've read everthing but love keeping up with the news from everyone and looking forward to the Perth meet next week at Charis + Hunter's place.
Well Hamish is doing well with solids but the wakings are back so it only worked for a short time. I was at the end of my tether yesterday which scared me as I felt quite angry and had to really control myself from showing it too much to Hamish. Had a chat to the CHN today and she had a few suggestions to try about feeding, settling etc. so :fingerscrossed: they work as I NEED SLEEP!! Mind you, I think I'm probably just a wuss after feading Cheeki's post about doing the washing at 2am. Haven't got there yet!!
Still no rolling here yet but Hamish has worked out he can get his toes in his mouth and they make for good rubbing on sore lower gums. Every day I expect to see toothies but nothing yet.
DH got a massage voucher for christmas from work and he's not going to use it (weird) so I get to have a massage on Saturday. yay! bring it on.
good luck with the E bay bidding gals, hope you're not putting the prices up for each other... funny thought...I was lucky and one of our mum's group mums passed on a big bag of 00, 0 and 1s for Hamish - we got it as he's the only boy. There are a couple of others but they hardly ever come which is ok now but he'll want some little fellas to play with when he's a bit older.
anyway, :ecomcity: from me. Sorry I'm a bit !@# at personals.

Like you Mim, I think I was feeding TJ her solids too late in the afternoon. Yesterday I fed her at 4.30. The past few nights I'd fed her 5.3-6 hoping she'd have a better night but the opposite happened. TJ now likes banaana and pear.
Love the walker Tabby. They are a no-no in our house with the timber floors. DH would not be happy if TJ tore up his floors.
Have a great day!

Hi everyone
Just a quick post, but not too many personals.
Mim - yaaay for the getting off the xantac. Hope the trial period goes well.
No sleep - We had a bad night last night as well, followed by a bad day today, so I sympathise with all those other mums (Cheeki, Freddie, Mim and Cat) who have also had unsettled bubs.
She went down like a dream tonight though, so :fingerscrossed: she sleeps ok tonight. I realised today that her tired signs have changed. As you all know, missing these signs is absolutely disatrous. I used to wait for her "little cry" before putting her down. Now there is no "little cry". Tonight I bundled her up at the "mmmm mmmm" and rub the eyes. I got a simle as I put her into bed, she reached for her teddy, and 40 mins later, I still haven't heard a peep. I thought as soon as I left the room she would cry. So yaaaay! (though I really shouldn't speak so soon).
Hope you all have a good night tonight.

freddie i was like that 5weeks ago. now i co-sleep with clea after she wakes for her night feeds. so she goes to sleep in her cot and at first wake up after i go to bed i move her into bed. i feed her without even waking up. the only problem is that i forget to change her nappy!
tonight i am trying clea in a really cosy sleeping bag with a hood it is al lined with soft fluffy type material (like a long wooly fleece) its from baby gap and was a bargain on ebay. yes i know a hood is a no no. but with the heater she wakes all night. without the heater her hands and ears are freezing. she sleeps next to me anyway so i am sure i would hear her. besides i figure she has pretty good body control now. She rolls everywhere, and picks up her toys to chew them. But the extra warmth might encourage her to stay asleep. If she ever goes to sleep! I have left her in her cot with her toy and her mobile playing twinkle twinkle and can hear her laughing!

I'm back - finally asleep :fingerscrossed:
Another day of very little sleep today - each time I try and put him down results in the most heartbreaking scream with tears whereas yesterday no fuss at all. I'm sure it has to be teething or something even though no other signs except very drooly, grumpy and lots of toy chewing & seems to like it when I rub his gums. We see his paed next week anyway to discuss US results & see if any improvement to suspected blockage in ureter so will see if he has any suggestions & also ask about starting solids. He seems ready but then again only 1 more month until he's 6 months anyway.
Very annoyed  . Finally bought a cheapo CD player for C's room so I can start trying to introduce 'sleeping music' as a new sleep association because getting harder & harder to feed him to sleep & get him to bed without waking. Silly thing played one track and then stopped but the disc was still spinning. Didn't matter how many times I pushed the stop button it kept spinning & I thought the whole thing was going to take off. When I opened it the disc was still spinning & practically flew out at me  . Needless to say I'll be returning it tomorrow. Wasn't even what I really wanted. I wanted a kids one but the Target near us only had Hello Kity & Dora the Explorer ones which don't quite seem right for my little man!
Glad you were feeling better today Aries & :fingerscrossed: crossed for good sleeps tonight for all. Have already resettled once here so not holding my breath but at least I know I'm in good company!

Have just been checking out all of your lovely photos on the 'show of your baby pics' thread. All such cute kids and aren't they growing up?? On the one hand it seems like only yesterday that Kelsey was born and yet it also feels like a long time ago.........cluck cluck (nooooooooo). Speaking of being clucky, I really should do something about contraception. Have just been so lazy and know I will be mad at myself and DH if we happened to get a 'surprise' (not that it would be a bad thing!)
Mim - hope all goes well with Joshua over the next 3 days!!
Freddie - Don't feel bad. It is totally normal to feel like you are at the end of your rope sometimes. I'm sure we can all relate to how you have been feeling and I hope you get a good sleep tonight.
And Cheeki - you are a mad woman (I mean that in a nice way). Cannot believe you were washing at 2am!!! Hope you didn't get the ironing board out too!!!
For those of you looking for some cheapie winter clothes, I just got some from coles. I actually think it was Cheeki who mentioned the coles clothes ages ago. I think I got 2 long sleeve shirts and 2 pairs of long pants for about $20 so worth a look.
Well, Kelsey keeps on rolling over in her sleep and wakes up with a fright and cries. Tonight she woke about 30mins after I put her to bed and her head was squashed up against the cot rail and left a sort of dent in her head. Hope it goes away........babies have such soft heads.
Anyway, off to tackle the mountain of ironing in my living room.
Hope everyone gets a good sleep.

Cat - when you get your CD player replaced (what a pain) have you considered using the 'sounds for silence' CD?? when you describe Cameron, it sounds alot like my DS was. We found that playing the CD helped a bit.
Hope he starts settling a bit better for you. One day of being usettled can undo a whole week of good days can't it????

Trial period is over. He lasted 24 hours and then screamed inconsolably for about 1/2 an hour tonight. So, zantac is back. Hopefully he'll be ok overnight.

thanks cathy and flicka - forgot about here .... just soo much has been going on - haven't posted much just come back now and again to check with the mcns and to vent my frustration with bubs....
haven't read all the posts - so many since last time i was in .... will take the time later and read them all - but i did read that some bubbas had teeth  none here yet - thank goodness - we really don' tneed the dramas - yet !!!
bubs has been really unsettled lately - still no answers from the doctors - so now they think she has cows milk protein, soy , fish and nut allergies ... - we have to wait a couple more weeks to get into an allergiest though - so wont know for sure until then ... in the meantime - they are thinking of changing her off the losec onto another stronger med.... not sure what is happening yet - either that or she will have to go on neocate ???
so today - i had enough and decided to give up breast feeding ... - didn't work very long - she wouldn't stop screaming until i put her on the breast - she went to sleep for all of about 10 mins ... :banghead: but that is better than nothing ...
will pop back in soon and thanks again for the support ...

dragonflyblu - How did you go with the sleeping bag?
Flicka - Love your avatar. Very cute.
bossoflatch - :hugs: :hugs: to you hun, I hope they find the problem very soon.
mim1 - Sorry to hear about Josh. How did he go last night?
Cat- How did hubby go with his Op? I can't understand why they had to send him up to cairns
considering Townsville is a city.Thought they would be able to do it there. Talon goes to
sleep with his lullaby cd's on. He's usually in a deep sleep within 10 to 15mins after putting him music on.
Jacstar - Happy 6months to Geoffrey.
Cheeki - T has a FIsher Price Aquarium aswell. He loves it to bits.
Us - Not much happening here. Talon is still his normal self. Thank goodness.Another
good sleep 7.30 to 8. He's just gone down for his morning sleep now. When he wakes up we
heading to the shops. Kmart having a sale on clothing (buy one, get the second 70% off). To all the bubs who have been unsettled lately :hugs: to you all ( and to the wonderful mummies). This week or by the end of next week we should know if were posted to Perth.
I'm heading to make myself some breaky
Have a great day

Well I drove 45 minutes into town this afternoon to sit an exam. Only problem being that my stupid lecturer didnt leave it with the lady who was to supervise me. So I drove back home again having achieved nothing!! I have better things to do with my time stupid lady. Especially when she rang me up yesterday and said at least 3 times to make sure I showed up! Grrrrr:mad:
Anyways, :hugs: to all the mums having bit of a hard time at the moment. Hopefully your babes get through it quickly

Just spoke to my DH and he's doing well after his ankle surgery thanks to morphine. I actually spoke to him earlier this arvo as well but he says he has no idea what we talked about. Strawberry, apparently the surgeon in Cairns has more experience than the one in Townsville. He is also the one that fixes up the Cowboys players and apparently gives priority to Defence members.
Cameron has given me a relaxing day today, he's just been so sleepy. Must be growing - I swear his hair looks longer each time he wakes up. Going to try & take him to baby clinic tomorrow to get his 5 month weight. Between sleeps he did manage to do a back to front roll and also seems to be starting to try and bring himself up to a sitting position when he's in a reclining position.
Korah, what a pain about the non-exam! I think they should give you an automatic pass for your trouble and not make you sit it!
Welcome back Bossoflatch. :fingerscrossed: for some answers and improvement soon. I'm guessing with the troubles you've been having you might still have some issues with her weight?
Flicka, will have to look into the 'Sounds for Silence' CD. The one I was going to try was 'Music for Dreaming' & also 'Majors for Minors'.
That walker is a great find Tabby! Don't think C is ready for one yet, no interest in 'standing'.
Good night to all,
dragonflyblu
14-06-2007, 06:17 PM
strawberry_shortcake the sleeping bag was too hot, she hated her hands being covered so had to rll back the sleeve but the hood wasfine. even when she rolls and lays on her side the hood never covers her face
Korahblue not only is that an amazing waste of time, but a emotional f%$# as well. I would ask to take it as a take home exam.
bossoflatch :hugs: hope it all works out soon. Sounds like bubs needs the comfort of boob at the moment. Hey 10 minutes is still a sleep.
That reminds me Clea has decided that her 'naps' are when she is feeding. Today she had 2x10 minutes naps and slept during a ONE HOUR feed! My arm was numb.
dragonfly ... I put a pillow under josh's head whilst he feeds or if i let him sleep on my lap cause I was getting numb arms all the time - he's SO heavy.
Speaking of which - he is now 7.85kg! He was weighed at the paediatrician yesterday :)
cat ... yeah for cameron and his rolling and almost sitting up. when do you expect your dh home again? hopefully soon.
korah ... what an annoying day! All that stress and driving for nothing. :hugs:
tabby ... cute pic. I'm still trying to decide between a walker, swing and exerciser. I bought josh a jolly jumper, but my door frames are actually too wide to hang it off :( So we probably need to get a frame which costs as much as a swing or exerciser! grrr!
strawberry ... be careful with the 2nd item 70% off thing, it's ok if you buy 2 items, but once you buy more they get really confused at the checkout. My suggestion is to make several trips and buy similarly priced items at the same time (eg. 2 $20 items, then later 2 $5 items) ... that way you get a better discount.
Josh is doing ok today. We had a 'normal' night with a 5 hour break, then a 4 hour break between feeds. No waking in between so that was good. He was a bit unsettled late in the afternoon and as I sat down to eat dinner. After dinner I found out why ... poo explosion! He hadn't done a poo for a few days (sorry TMI) and I was waiting for the explosion ... thankfully it was contained in the nappy, but in order to get him clean he needed a shower! He's sound asleep now.
dh just got home, gotta go

Mim: Bummer with the door ways, what if you take that one back and swap for one of those with a frame? Thats what we have to get as no doorways near these rooms, all open plan. I priced them a bit back and not much difference.
Glad Josh slept better, hope it gets even better still!
Cat: Glad DH seems well, lol @ the not remembering. Praise the morphine!
Bubs can just sit in the walkers, you can adjust height accordingly, Katie sits most of the time, stands and yells though when excited
Korah: What a fiasco! I would have been very peed off thats for sure. Do you have to go back again?
A day home tomorrow!!! Boy do I need it, been on the go for 2 weeks. Katie was pooped too! Be good for her a day home too.

Hope Zaides poo problem stops soon, do you use curash powder? Best thing ever! Katie had a rash on her neck the other day ( dribble rash ) and it cleared over night.
The walkers, pretty sure I saw was a stocktake sale and till end of month ( said end financial yr ) so maybe give them a call and see?
Same here with our floors, bloom'n cold as!
Hope your sil ( and he )wakes up soon, as you say shes in for one big reality check otherwise, shes very lucky to have you!!! Hang in there and hopefully she will understand soon.
Nothing much here, Katies teeth are about to cut through well and truly, very big hard lumps and swollen & red, had originally thought there was one a few weeks back. am sure i saw it!!! Someone did tell me though that they can go up down up down a few times before really cutting through. Either that or I was seeing things lol, anyway they are for sure now.
coffee time while Katie plays in the walker!
ahhhh what a wonderful invention
Forgot to say, last night with DP watching she was soooo excited in it she was just beaming from ear to ear and giggling and little legs going nuts, was hilarious and so awesome to see her SO happy!
the nursery specials at target are until june 20th - they run for 2 weeks.

Cheeki...no matter what you say to your SIL, at 19, she's probably not going to want to listen. Maybe just be prepared to help out when bub arrives and she realises the rose coloured world she lives in isn't all that rose coloured after all.
Tabby...not a problem with the 00 clothes, will pass them onto Cordelia as C, will no doubt get some wear out of them. If TJ is anything to go by, the 0's won't be too long on Katie soon. TJ's starting to fill out her 0 clothes already:eek: when only last week it seemed they'd never fit.
TJ's had better nights the past couple, which is a relief. I've had a bit more sleep as a result and am feeling a bit more human.
Toys R Us had a big toy sale on at the moment, their baby sale has been going for a week, but their General sale started yesterday. I'm looking at an activity table for TJ as we didn't have one for DD1. They also have Huggies on sale for $32.
Looking forward to Tuesday's meet,

Hi everyone,
Long time no post, don't seem to have much spare time at the moment.
M's Christening is on the 24th and is getting a bit crazy, 80 adults and 30 kids - thank goodness I'm not catering myself this time. Cake design is in my head and I will start the sugar craft tomorrow, rels start arriving next wed!
M is doing brilliantly, sleeps till 5:30am consistantly which suits as that's when DH gets up, so it's a dream BF then back to bed till B wakes up sometime after 8am. Most mornings we actually go back to sleep but M is getting rather chatty of late and likes having my sole attention while he can get it!
Mum & I went on a scrapbooking weekend away a couple of weeks back - up to a retreat in the Blue Mountains. We took M as he is still exclusively BF and to be honest wouldn't want to be away from him anyway. 35 women clamouring for cuddles so I barely held him except for feeding. M
just lapped up all the attention and his nickname is now 'smiley'.
Sorry no personals (someone always says what I mean to before I do), Happy weekends to everyone!

hi all, clea is having a bad night. not crying but bright pink checks and very cranky. she is tething i think, keeps biting down onmy boob.
she had wind before and my sil suggested a little bit of sugar and water. clea has never had water apart from the water in her stewed fruit, and she is bf . i was a bit reluctant, so we only gave her 10ml and she loved it and would you believe did a huge fluff and a big burp. dont know if it was the water or the bottle or just the experience of my sil (4 children and 4 grandchildren)
well she is feeding now so hopefuly she will sleep. i am probably going to join her in bed i am pooped.

hi hi hi..
Yah about Cleas coming of teeth..pity they have such a hard time with them.
Of course teeth :D are a major event when burps and bowel motions are still worth grisling over.
Freddie I hope your and Hamishs days + nights have got better. It certainly is hard sometimes, am loving that we just about know why they cry now...but also certainly know why people do and can shake them. So so awful and wouldn't ever of course. It is good to realise each time that they have no intention but to be loved/nutured/fed.. At the same time I did have a night where I was up more times than I could count the night before last. Always thought 'how could you lose count', but yes after 5times v easy, even took H to bed around 3 rather than 6am and he couldn't sleep there either.. oh well..last night was the usual, one feed, one settle. phew. and he slept 7.30pm-8am more of that please :)
Oh he loves me (or anyone)making animals+bird sounds. We have been seeing a lot of swans/ducks/seagulls lately and he loves the sound they make when imitated.
No teeth here, Tabby poor liitle K for sore lumpy gums now!
news here:H is sitting for a relatively long time..moves all over his mat (which is big)when I'm showering (ducking in and out 3times)..and an almost cute nose scrunch.
Cheeki28 OMG the 2am WASH he he.You are amazing! A girl with twin boys in my exercise class has a red cross volunteer for an hour a week, in that she takes them so their Mum can have an hour! Sound good? Congrats to your SIL, age isn't the biggest factor, remember the gorgeous BrisMummy17 (now 18). But you know yr SIL..her chap sounds a bit abominable. But I can't talk on that front!! Am sure she'll learn a lot and leatn a lot of it from you..ie how to get on and do it all :)
SammyG yah about the christening next week. What a special day for all.
Cat13, I swear our boys are v similar. H's hair grows almost when watching it too.
Well I have a cold..yep, of course if its still around on Tues will be postponing, but should be all well then.:smiliedance:
So a Friday night so no work, no going out, no grumpy-bum xDP so I'm off to snooze night all.xx

Hi girls
Time for an update from me hehe. I am having a little break from posting as I never seem to get anything else done as I'm a self confessed internet/bubhub addict! I am also trying to get a new online business venture up and running, but more about that later.
Anyway, things are all good here. R is still sleeping well and today he woke at 9am. He's been extra hungry over the last few days and he is now almost 5 months so we started some rice cereal this morning. As you can see from the photo (http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Reece/FirstSolids1.jpg) he is not that impressed yet. Even so, he still managed to eat it all (one teaspoon full). So we will do the same tomorrow and then I will add some apple puree to make it more appetizing.
I also finally got his new bookshelves delivered, so I had alot of fun putting out all his little toys and things, here's a photo (http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Reece/Bookcase1.jpg).
We are off to Target and the shops tomorrow to check out all the sales. I want to get a lightweight stroller for when we go to Noosa in Sept and for use in summer and when he's bigger. I have also bought a couple of grobags from eBay, didn't realise they would be so long! I will have to fold them over for quite a while I think. Do many of you use them? I have been using sleeping bags from Target up until now.
Better go as I am meant to be doing DH's bookwork :shame:
Hope all mums and bubs are doing well :)

Hey chicks,
Have just caught up on everything and now I can't remember who said what.
Oh, Sammy - We are having our bubbas christenings on the same day!!! I'm sure your cake will be spectacular. Please post a pic when finished! I am making a giant white chocolate mudcake and just decorating it with a lovely pink ribbon and some flower thingys. We have family coming from Japan (mum and dad), Brisbane and Perth. About 30 people all up - just doing red rooster chooks and salad.
Speaking of teeth - we have the 2 bottom ones coming here. In fact one was poking thru a tiny bit yesterday but has disappeared again today. Kelsey hasn't been too bad with hers - just a bit grizzly and dribbly.
I'm off. DS is driving me nuts getting out of bed all of the time!!!
Take care

Morning all,
Hope everyones having a great weekend!
Mouse: nice to see your getting some better sleeps. Hope they continue for you.
dragonflyblu: Hope your night continued to be more settled and you got a nice sleep. Just curious.. I know they get enough water from mum for a while but at what age do they need more if bfing?
Katie absolutely hates water! So hard to get her to have it, usually have to flavor it slightly.
Charis: :hugs: for the cold, hope your getting better and getting some rest.
How cute at the animal sounds H loves!
ds2 gives me some strange looks when I do things like that for Katie. Got to love him, hes so funny at times. Needless to say he loves the new walker NOT :laughing:, very noisy, sounds like a star wars episode lol. Nah jk hes ok, he jokes about it but dont think its a bother, he has surround sound in his room and has it quite loud sometimes so he gets his noise up as well lol.
ah the joys of teens! lucky I dont mind his music.
Hels! Lovely to hear from you hun. Glad your both doing well. Good luck with your new internet venture! Katie wasnt too impressed rice cereal either, Apples gave katie a belly ache so we have postponed them for a bit and used pears.
Rice cereal really is rather blah looking/tasting isnt it? Katie doesnt have it now, weetbix instead, + a piece of toast to chew on

LOL is she enjoying that or what?
your book shelves are just beautiful!!!!!
Flicka: Sounds like our teething the same, not much hassle here either in comparison to some. few wakes but nothing major..lets hope it stays that way lol. Hope you got ds settled eventually.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Sierra was 5 months yesterday, cant believe its gone that fast. Had fun cleaning out all her drawers & wardrobe of all the stuff that doesnt fit anymore & putting all the new stuff in that does fit or is starting to. Now i have 4 huggies boxes full of clothes... might sell them on ebay. Might actually pay for the stuff i buy off there. DH cant believe how addicted to ebay i am but oh well... i just told him what his sister says to her DP. My hobbie is Ebay & i collect kids clothes
Having a few issues with DD2. I think the effects of her being so prem are starting to show a little. She has no attention span what so ever. I started to get a little worried when i was watching her draw the other day & she just scribbles. She's 3 & 1/2 she should be able to draw some shapes & even a face by that age. So DH & i sat down with her & showed her how to draw a few things... circles, other shapes, faces, the letter A etc & we asked her to copy us & all she kept saying was... 'i cant'. Got very frustrating in the end. We even helped her by holding her hand & drawing stuff but after we let go she just had no interest at all & when trying to explain how to do it (& other things) to her she just looks away & seems like shes not listening or off with the fairies. Its not just with drawing, it also with alot of different things that i'm starting to notice. She cant sit still & watch a dvd for more that about 2-5mins. She loses interest very quickly in just about everything she does. We asked her what she wanted to do as we thought she might have more interest & be able to do something for longer if she actually decided what she wanted to do. She said she wanted to watch a dvd but in less than 5 mins she was already up doing something else. There are also a lot of other things too but the post would be pages long lol. Think we should take her to see her Paediatrician. What do you ladies think?
Tabby - Katie looks like she loves her toast! Very Cute. Will have to try Sierra with some soon.
Sorry for the vent & long post!

Hi Girls
Hope you are all having a good weekend. Mine has been very quiet as Hubby has worked all of it and DS has spent a lot of time playing with friends
Macy is teething as well... I thought her bottom ones were so close to cutting but they seem to have gone back down again today. It will happen soon enough Im sure.
Tired mummy - have you tried fish oil with your older daughter? We found it really beneficial with DS and noticed a big improvement in his behaviour and concentration span. We were lucky though that he is older and can swallow the capsules, you might need to get the oil and add it to DD food/drink
Well it turns out that the supervisor did have my exam. It was in her roll book and she didnt even look in there. So now I have to organise another time to sit it. Very annoying!!
Does anyone have any inventive recipes for sausages besides curried or bbq'ed? Hubby loves the things but Im a bit over them so thought i would look for a new way to cook them....
Enjoy whats left of your weekend. Im back to work on Wednesday boooooo

Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday arvo. Cameron is overtired but refusing to sleep so DH is trying to settle him. It's about all he can do with his ankle all plastered up (he's not impressed with the purple cast they gave him! ). He is not a good patient - not in that he whinges or anything but because he won't accept that he needs to rest and let me do things for him.
Sammy & Flicka, hope you are having fun with the Christening preparations. Don't think we are going to have one. I think it's a nice tradition but would feel hypocrytical since neither of us very religious. Plus too far for family & friends to travel if we did have one. Might have a naming/welcoming BBQ for him when we go to Melbourne at xmas time. And Flicka, can't wait to see those little teeth when we finally catch up.
Dragonfly, I've heard from a few people that brown sugar & water are good for constipation/tummy troubles. And I'd also like to know when it's necessary to start giving bub water on top of BF - haven't offered any water to C as yet.
Charis, C loves his animal noises too. His favorite is when we quack like a duck. Our boys do seem similar in many ways - it started when neither was in any hurry to arrive in this world on their own accord!
Tired Mummy, I'm no expert about 3.5 year olds and don't know the full story but I imagine that just like bubs they all develop at their own pace and her behaviour could well be in the normal range?
Gotta go, DH having no luck settling C, I think we need booby and DH can't do that :D .

korahblue, I fry sausages up with sliced zuccini, mushrooms, onion and a tin of tomatoes. Add a little seasoning and serve over mash. I'm a lazy eater and sometimes pre-cook the sausages then cut them up before cooking again with the veges (then I can eat with one hand and hold my book with the other if I'm eating alone)
Hels, the bookcase looks fabulous - wish we had room for something like that, next unit maybe!
Flicka, hope your Christening goes well, just doing last minute prep now, outfits for all 4 of us are organised, ordered balloons today and have started cake.
Tiredmummy, get DD2 checked if you are concerned just for peace of mind if nothing else. Kids do develop very differently but if there is anything wrong better to catch it early, they might just have some suggestions you had never thought of!
M is getting very noisy now! Can't quite get used to it! B was always noisy and still is so it shouldn't be a shock - we are one noisy family.

Hi Hels, forgot to reply about the grobags. We use them and don't find the length to be a problem. Because they are used without any other bedding, no need to position bubs with feet way down the bottom of the cot. I just pop him in the centre of the cot and leave the length of the bag as it is.
I like the sounds of that sausage recipe Sammy

tabby and charis bf babies dont need water at all until they wean. to me giving water was stressful because water can be harmful to a baby, babies can OD on water.(see WHO website) but to me it was a better option than giving any medications. clea hasnt had anything apart from some homeopathic medicine and antibiotic eye drops for her blocked tear duct (after exhausting every other option) and one dose of panadol for a temp. we dont vaccinate, give medication or give medicines like gripe water, infacol etc. yep we are hippy parents.
actually i just realised i never really talk about our parenting style in this forum. any other jan mums NP/AP?
tiredmummy hope dd2 starts being more receptive, but she sounds like my niece was at that age. now she's 8 and loves to read.

Dragonflyblu - In regards to attachment parenting I guess it depends how/what it is described as. I co sleep with my children, both DD and now DS, although they are both sleeping with me at the moment. I am also exclusively BF and haven't introduced water. I do use panadol on a regular occassion and do vaccinate my kids so I guess I am a bit in the middle of conservative and attachment parenting. I also don't use walkers or high chairs (I have started some solids) and usually feed Billy while he sits on my lap. I try to encourage gross motor movement through lots of tummy time but I do use a jolly jumper (he has so much fun!). I don't make my own baby foods :( no time for that. I think I have pretty much covered it. Nothing beats co sleeping, I love it and so do the kids, it is such a 'natural' thing to do after all we would have done that before we lived in houses and the 'Western world', and many cultures still do just that. I believe that while the children are so little it is great to have that closeness (after all they aren't little for too long) and I have found that my DD who is now 4 has always been very, very independant and confident. She has never been clingy nor suffered from seperation anxiety and I am sure that it has a lot to do with cosleeping. Well that's my rant...each to their own and what's right for one isn't for the other:laughing: I don't understand why so many people in the western world shun cosleeping, there are nothing but positives with it. Eg; the other night I woke at 3am to find DD and DS playing games, holding hands and giggling. It was so sweet and it is helping them with bonding too (yes I guess the negative was they woke me at 3am with all the commotion, but I don't mind) after all I know they are growing closer and closer together. It is also soooo easy to roll over, pop the boob out and feed while sleeping!:p None of this getting up out of bed for us!

Hi all,
Well I am not caught up - last time I was in here managed to get to page ten, now it's at 20 and I am just tooooo tired  sorry! Did start to read backwards and caught Tired*Mummy's post - My DS is 4.5yrs and is no picaso. All the other kids seem to be able to draw bodies with arms and legs sticking out of them however DS just seems to scribble. He also constantly asks to watch a movie/dvd etc only to watch a little then wander off to something else (usually to bug/moan at me about something). His attention span is minimal unless it's something we are interacting with also. Also he is very senstive and tends to cry lately at the drop of a hat. However he is just so full of questions all the time, remembers everything and his understanding of the world (I'm embarassed to say it) seems more comprehensive then mine! What I am trying to say and reassure you of is that we all have different strengths (yes - children included!) and whilst your DD may not be up with the other kids in drawing and sitting still and watching a (maybe boring?) movie, she may need something else more stimulating (think hands on or intellectual) to keep her mind busy? Don't dispare - I too was worried about DS but I really think that he just needs the space to become himself at this stage. For your DD 3.5 is very young and she still has a long time before she starts school. DS starts next year (so has 6 months) and a lot of changing can happen between now and then. We'll watch him closely at school and I am sure will be able to pick up on anything in that first year. So sorry :ecomcity: :ecomcity:
Anyway - US, well DD is on solids! Hah! So much for us waiting till the magical 6 month mark..... that idea crashed and burned. She was waking every two hours through the night for a feed and I was RS. So I bit the bullet and gave in... However we are only giving rice cereal for a while - adn guess what? She LOVES it! We have mealtimes complete with "mmmm MMmm mmm" sounds. V v cute! So back to the sleeping well it didn't instantly solve the waking for copius feeds dilemma staright up but I am happy to report that last night after 7pm bedtime and a 9pm wake for a pain/poo/feed she slept until 4.30am :smiliedance: Yay!
Anyway baby steps as they say... we'll see how it goes. So far we are only managing a breaky feed and a dinner feed - I am a bit too lazy to whip up a lunch feed plus I am a bit stingy on how much torture I want to put my boobs through with the expressing torture device that they have so aptly named a "breast pump" - owww god it hurts! I am struggling to get 80mls - I so want to quit at 10mls but I soldier on.... *big sigh*
Other then that - thats about all from us. No teeth, no rolling, no hair! Oh well! And we are in fully in 00 and in some 0's - so lucky my friends has twin 2yr old girls - godsend in the clothing department - have hardly bought a thing!
Take care and I will try to catch up soon - off to do dishes now (well empty dishwasher so DH can pack it! - he he).

hi karina i love co-sleeping to, but i do put clea in her own cot (near our bed) until her first wake. we sleep on a futon on the floor and i am worried that our old vague cat will sleep next to clea and get fur all over her and then clea will eat it! I think we are probably a more extreme end of NP. I dont use any aids except a sling and a pram oh and cloth nappies. But this might all change if we have another bub. I am a fulltime mum with one baby so all I do is Clea things. But this is not to say I have my days, I have eyed off the jolly jumper as it looks fun!

Hi all
Thanks for all your replies about DD2. I think i'm just a little concerned as she was 17 weeks prem & the dr's told us before she was born that she could have major learning difficulties like autism, ADD etc (not saying that she has or anything) or even worse things like full brain damage, cerabal palsy etc. I have read alot about learning difficulties & autism and there are a few things i am a little concerned about. I'm not just worried about her not being able to draw or sit still for a while, its more. Sometimes it seems like shes deaf (which i know shes not), or shes so tuned out that she just doesnt even know that you're there. She very repetitive & obsessive about alot of things and from what i've read, alot of kids with development delays or learning difficulties can be like that. I spose the best thing to do is have her check over by her paediatrician, see where she is at & see what he thinks. Even if he just gives me a few suggestions or advice on different & easier ways to explain things so she can understand. Cause sometimes she looks like she has no idea what i'm saying or talking about & its hard to rephrase things heaps of times & she still doesnt understand. It might be help deal with the frustrating days. I just feel i'm having more of those days lately.
Anyway... sorry about another vent lol.
Sierra has been on solids for a while now. She LOVES pumpkin & sweetcorn. Doesnt really like much else. She likes pears better than apples but is still not too sure about the pears. I will have to try her on some toast soon. Cant wait to see her facial expressions when she tastes it lol. She has been having a full tin of pumpkin & sweetcorn at around lunchtime or early afternoon. Doesnt seem to have a problem with that. I wanted to give it to her in the mornings & then eventually work onto dinner time & then adding the lunchtime one further down the track but she seems to want it more in the early afternoon & mornings are usually really busy so it works well.
Well hope everyone has a great night

Woohoo, "next one" Tabby..I know what Hels meant ages ago asking how TTC was going, but as she said, either you are or you aren't..he he :fingerscrossed: it happens wonderfully soon.
Oh all you solids bubs, Xavier, Tierney, Katie and Hamish will have to hide from Hunter, ok ok maybe I hide him. Ok ok I should start too, was waiting till the magic 6month mark too and till I had more time (yeah right!)..but he is grabbing things and looking v hungry, so may be much sooner. Will be fun, I'm sure. Bought a full body apron, so I guess we;re ready..
On AP/NP.. I do like my bed to read in and to sleep all over it, but really really love it when H wakes at 6 and he gets in for those two hrs together. Is v close and I love being able to snooze. Also no DP and even if he was not an xDP v much most of the time, he starts work at 6.
But do vacc, and only b-f, no water, just infants friend around 3-6wks and the other night due to a looming pooanami.
V interesting reading about the bigger DS and DDs. Such an amazing world us first time parents are entering!! I had read somewhere recently about the ability to draw circles after first being shown it. 2cutekids sounds on the money! Re stages and strengths/focus.
But 2cutekids, the breast pump (oops wrote pimp!) shouldn't hurt..?? Pressing too hard? Like I did with gusto first time? Is it manual? Heard some are a constant 'suck' I have a freedom TTippee one and its fine, okay so its timeconsuming, but it doesn't hurt. ?? Anyone else?
Karrina -gorgeous gorgeous about them playing together!! WOw. Hows work prep going?
Cat13 hope the purple cast gets some crayon work by Cameron :) Does he notice that Daddy is different?
Oh grobags, used it the first time last night and GREAT!! Was up 5times to settle and one to feed the night before, YEP I was mentally counting this time and thought RIGHT time to get over the farting/kicking all the way up the cot and out of the covers..SO last night was just up for one feed!! Thats it. I know it might have been a fluke. He's in a 6-18month also, but doesn't seem to ride up. It would look like a Matrix cloak, if it were black. he he
SammyG YUM for recipe :) What kind of noises is M making? H was doing the MmMmMm noises when uncomfy, yesterday and today he really sounds like MuM MuM MuM when he wants me/comfort, it is v nice. Feel like he's a different child. SO much more grown up than last week. He played outside super happily this arvo when my Sis and I bedded some large clods of 'lawn' in courtyard. All the Perthies will see it.. he he. I've still got sniffles, but getting better, but promise not to hold/sneeze on yr bubs (or you!! :) so up to you all, but don;'t think it needs postponing.
Waffle waffle.Night all!!
2cutekids ... you don't have to mix farex with EBM. I started a post in the solids forum and most people said that it is a better consistency when mixed with water. Besides I think it's a waste of precious breast milk to mix it with food that is likely not to be eaten. I had to express to mix with josh's medicine and I needed 60ml a day and it was hard work to make sure I wasn't taking that away from a feed. 80ml is REALLY hard work, especially now when your supply is well matched to his needs and you don't have excess.
Josh has had farex twice and wasn't such a fan the 2nd time, so I offered him pumpkin/sweet potato mash this morning. He liked it. He only had one teaspoon (which meant about 8 half spoonfuls with his flexible baby spoon), and then it seemed that he'd had enough. Do you go straight to multiple feeds a day if the baby seems to want it? Or do I have to stick to one feed a day for a while. I'm getting frustrated with 7 breast feeds a day ...

Wow im in exactly the same position. Tom has been waking every 2 hours and im starting to fantasize about being seriously injured just so i can get some bl00dy sleep! Maybe i should just give him food instead!
He is whinging a lot. Its driving me nuts. He struggles so much to sleep. I hate it. We are just getting into the habit of putting him down and leaving him in bed till he goes to sleep. He is nodding off pretty fast but not sleeping for long.
Karrina, im a bit like you. I co-sleep use clothies bf but have used panadol, he gets his needles, i prefer a pram to a sling because my back is stuffed, im thinking of starting solids and im back at work so he gets ebm from his dad. Is that attachment parenting? who knows, i hate labels anyway! Im a firm believer in just doing what you think is best.
Sorry i havent read most of the posts....im waiting for tom to start squarking again....

Mim: When I first started Katie solids it was just once a day ( breaky ) Then the next week added dinner as well, then 2-3 weeks after that all 3 now.
The slower you go the better in my opinion, time for tummy to adjust?
Charis: Thanks for the :fingerscrossed:. Am happy to fall preg about now. No af yet but can ovulate before get it so :fingerscrossed: lol. Rather crampy last night...af or ? If not already I wish af would appear so have some idea ov time etc!
Ill be there Tomorrow, after all is only a cold and dont believe in sheltering for just that. Can pick them up when out shopping/visiting/visitors anyhow.
Glad your feeling better xxx
oh and hope I don't get lost tomorrow haha.
Least its not far, am just off graham farmer here so should be easy? lol
Am having a real hard time getting through to mil that its not ok to just "pop" in!!! :banghead:
All it takes is a freaking phone call in advance for goodness sake. Arrived home yesterday arvo to see her here waiting with DP.
Its not like Ill deny her, just would like a call before hand, unreasonable???
Dp has asked her and Ive told her its best if she does quite a few times..sigh
They stay for several hrs so not just quick visits either
Might have to start going out more w.e so not so available for the pop ins, she will have to call in advance
A better night, no getting up YAY. feel human again!!! Felt very blah yesterday from it.
Hope everyone else got a good one

Aren't all our babies growing up so quickly. Even hubby said last night that Macy is turning from a baby into a little person. I reckon around 6 months seems to be a magic turning point where their personality really starts to develop and you can just see their brains ticking over trying to work things out and become more involved in the world around them :wizard:
Macy is pretty much sitting up. We still put a pillow behind her just incase of those topples backwards but she will sit quite happily for 10 mins or so without any support. She was even getting grumpy yesterday when I lay her on the floor!!
Solids are proceeding well. We are up to 2 feeds a day [lunch and dinner] and she eats about half to two thirds of a jar at a time. Home made mashed potatoe would be her favourite I think, but she also likes homemade pears and the sweetcorn/pumpkin from the jar. I am building her up to 3 feeds a day and then will increase the amount she is eating. I have the apple and pear farex and mix it with boiled water which Macy will eat no worries. If there is a little bit of her other food left I will mix them together aswell.
I just wanted to say WELL DONE to those mummies who are still BF. I think you're doing a great job :yelclap:
About parenting style: I dont think we fit into one group exactly. Macy slept in our bed or in her pram in our room until she was about 3 months and now sleeps in her cot. If she is having a bad night I will usually sleep in the spare bed in her room or if its nearly time to get up I'll just bring her into our bed. She was BF exclusively for 6 weeks and then still had some BF's until just after 3 months. We have a jolly jumper, sling and pram/stroller. We vaccinate and she has had infant demazin and hospital grade teething gel. And most importantly she has lots of cuddles from all of us. Even her brother asks for a cuddle sometimes and we like to have a 'family hug' in the evening when daddy gets home from work :hugs: .
Whatever your parenting style, as long as your kids grow up knowing you love them then you have done a good job I think
Well enough rambling from me. Best go do some washing. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon for a couple of fillings. That will teach me for not going for 10 years!!!

Cat13 - Thanks for the tip about the grobag, I hadn't thought about putting R in the middle of the cot.
Tired*Mummy - As I am a first time mum I have no idea about development stages until we get to them. However, as you have a 4 year old daughter aswell, I assume you are comparing DD2 to DD1? Which I think is perfectly natural to do this. If you are worried about DD2's development I would see a professional as she might need some extra help further down the track. This is something that I would do if R seemed to be less advanced than I thought he should be.
Tabby - Hope you have some good news soon re TTC'ing :fingerscrossed: .
I am finally starting to feel more normal "down there" (after 5 months) so it won't be too far off for us now. I am going to ring and book our first Dr appt for August, hopefully will start insemination around Oct.
We haven't had anymore solids here yet, so it was a one off so far. Might try some again this week.
Bought a new lightweight stroller in the sales yesterday for when we go on holidays and summer months, got a bargain too  . Going back to the shops today for more sales!!

Great to see how different we all parent!
I returned to work last week (part time), I was actually dreading it but you know what? I actually loved being back at work! I got right into it and it was great to catch up on the happenings. I had both kids booked into childcare all day Fridays but then the centre realised that Billy isn't 6 months old yet, so the next 3/4 weeks are a bit of a drama. X DH looked after Billy on Friday but the other saga is that Billy is NOT taking the bottle which is impacting on access with dad and work. I am thinking to put him into childcare 2 mornings instead of a full day. I am working from home the other times, which is interesting (work - what work?). I am sure I will get into the swing of it but I am actually looking forward to spending more time in at work and feeling like someone other than a mummy 24/7. I will also think about increasing childcare to get some time out because at this point xDH isn't being as helpful as I would have hoped and isn't having anywhere near as much access with the kids as I thought he would, that pretty much leaves me with NO TIME whatsoever to myself. My life is full of maddness at the moment and I know there will be more stability in the future and I can't wait.
Billy has joined the 'solids club' too - I just don't like those poo's!

I'm loving reading about parenting styles too! M is in a cradle at the foot of our bed but comes back to bed with me after morning feed and sometimes naps with DH in the afternoon (has an awful habit of snuggling into his armpit so shampoo a must that night with all M's hair) M is still exclusively BF, has needles and had rotavirus vaccine, has had baby panadol a few times for fever. I won't be starting solids till 6months hopefully and then I turn into a cooking machine and have lots of ice cube trays ready. M doesn't have a set routine, he feeds roughly every 4hrs, if he's happy he's up, when he gets tired he goes to bed, if he cries he needs a cuddle but more than likely he's hungry and I haven't noticed the time. We go out most mornings and he stays awake the whole time between the morning feeds, then I try to stay home in the afternoon and he has lovely long sleeps 2hrs+ most days.
Charis, M is grunting, squealing, shrieking and lots of Mmmmmm's plus a kind of grumble while he feeds. Gorgeous pics of H, what a handsome devil!
Expressing: I do this everyday instead of the last feed, M has it the next night from a bottle. A few friends had lots of trouble weaning onto bottles so this is just something I do. M has always taken a bottle easily since 3wks and I keep some frozen spares for the very rare times I have been out. To get more milk I don't express for an extra 2hrs after the night feed so if M is having the bottle at 7pm I express at around 9pm and can get anywhere between 160-220ml. I've never had blocked ducts or anything or been uncomfortably full half way through the night - I wonder if fully draining by expressing has helped? Another tip, when BF or expressing 1st side hold a bottle/cup??? under your other side and I can usually catch 20-30mls just with that sympathetic let-down (do that a few times a day when you are home and you are getting a good bit extra without taking it away from Bub - better saved than wasted in a breat pad!
Tabby, my MIL used to try that one, she used to be able to walk to our place - we moved slightly further away! I'm trialing Monday night dinners with the outlaws now at alternate houses to keep them at bay and reserve our weekends for other stuff.
Korahblue- clever Macy sitting up!
Karrina - I know what you mean about work, I needed to go back after B was born to regain some of myself. Have better networks this time round and can't afford daycare and rels all work.

Hi everyone
I agree, I love reading about everyone's parenting styles too. I think I am probably about "in-between" in terms of AP/NP and the more traditional style western parenting. We don't co-sleep with G - though I have on occasion - particularly when DH is away. But to be honest, although it is lovely to snuggle in with her, and it does feel so natural, both G and I sleep better with her in her own cot. I used a sling when she was a newborn (which she loved - she just wasn't happy in the pram). She now loves her stroller and prefers it to the baby bjorn. I bf, vaccinate and have given her baby panadol after both her 2 and 4 month vaccinations as she had a fever. I have started solids and use organic produce.
Tired mummy - I would get your DD2 checked out. I was reading on the weekend that it is important to catch ADD as soon as possible - and preferably before school.
No more frm me.

Very interesting reading the last few pages I must say.
Parenting Style - hmmm....still evolving but features include: fortunately able to BF only & hope to do so as long as possible, yes to vaccinations, yes to gentle settling methods only (and would be yes to co-sleeping if it helped C settle but it does not , same goes for a sling), yes to cloth nappies (MCNs), yes to home cooked solids when we get to that stage. Baby panadol once only but nothing else. Do things I'm not 'supposed' to like feed bub to sleep at night and pram rides for day settling. Not fussed on having all the latest gadgets, our time is more important than any toy.
Solids - had best intentions of waiting until 6 months for solids but at 5 months 1 day C had first taste of rice cereal. After each BF he would come off and make sad eyes at me while making chewing motions as if to say "entree was great mum, where's the main course??" Still, plan on taking it VERY slowly eg after a full BF only, only once a day, only rice cereal with EBM for now and just a teensy bit. More about getting him used to the texture & will get more serious about it when he actually is 6 months. Was also encouraged by the baby clinic nurse to start on cereal & fruit because she thinks he's too skinny & pale (maybe anaemic) but this was not my reason for starting down the solids road.
Expressing - I don't regularly express but take advantage of the times C has changed his feeding schedule leaving me painfully full. I use an Avent hand pump & find the right breast easiest to express. A couple of bottles in the freezer for emergencies if C's home alone with DH and now just freezing what I express into ice cube trays for later use in mixing with solids etc. For the little tastes of rice C's been having, I've just been hand expressing onto the cereal.
Small vent, didn't really bother me but MIL's response when DH said C was unsettled and we are still trying to work out how to help him fall asleep more easily - "Oh, haven't you worked that out yet??". Like it's that easy! Mind you, pre-parenthood I never realised how hard it could be for a baby to fall asleep. I expected there'd be some bad nights up for hours settling bub but I never even considered all the day naps a baby needs to have as well. I thought he'd be like my cat when she was a kitten - she'd run around and around and then when tired just flop wherever she was into a deep sleep - sometimes mid leap! If only! Tried so hard to work out if we are doing something wrong that makes C so hard to settle but I think it's just him. Apparently I was the same as a bub so it must be payback. But my little sister LOVED sleep so :fingerscrossed: my next child will be a sleeper!
Wow - this is a long post! Sorry :D

Hi all
Cheeki - Thanks for that. Some of things you said i can relate to. DD2 is completely obsesses with one stuffed toy, its a dog and she calls him 'doggy' lol.. anyway if she cant find him or leaves him somewhere she goes crazy... or if i take him away from her. She will sit & sook for him until she finds him, well i find him cos shes too busy sooking about it. I know kids have attachments to things but this is weird... i was reading that kids with autism can be obsessed with weird things like pieces of string & they just hold on to them & its weird because with her dog she pulls at his fluff, (it is made of the chenille type material) and wiggles it under her nose or sucks on it. Its like she likes the tickle feeling or something like that. And sometimes if she doesnt have doggy she will find a little piece of fluff... i have no idea where she gets it from and with stick it in her nose. I just think that is really strange. And with the food thing & never feeling full. She is like that too. Constantly asking over & over again for food. Its like she is always wanting food. Well anyway i have an appointment with the Paediatrician in July so hopefully will be able to get some answers.

just a quick hi, Clea has had an awake but happy night. But still exhausting for me, luckily I ate a combined dinner/lunch at 4. she hardly day sleeps for more than 20 minute naps and then she wants to stay up late playing and feeding.
I cant believe it she is waking up! I'm off tobed

oh man, just lost a huuuuge post. just me rambling about my parenting 'style' (or lack of) so probably a blessing in disguise for you all. Can't face redoing it sorry!
Cat 13, which MCN do you use? I bought a baby beehind but its SO bulky with the cover on I can't really face it. Do you find them ok? I love the idea of using them but have to confess to a little laziness on the washing front. The washing machine never seems to be off as it is and now we've started solids I seem wedded to the kitchen producing lots of little coloured ice blocks! yum.
well the only thing I'll say about us is that H had a good night last night (for him at the moment - woke 11pm and 4.30am then up at 7.45am) and I haven't had to settle him to sleep through the night or today :smiliedance: at all.
looking forward to the Perthies meet tomorrow.
kx
ps re not including EBM with cereal etc. I find it makes it a lot more palatable for H but when I can't express enough (apparently I have 'efficient' nipples!) I have used formula to mix. Will try to reduce to just water. Sometimes I add a bit of water too to get the consistency right. H is nowon 3 meals a day of about a TBspn each time. He likes rice/apple mix but not straight apple. Straight pumpkin with EBN he LOVES, and mushy pea/ rice mix but not straight peas. Also LOVES banana in one of those mesh bag thingys but I think the fruit sugar makes him a bit hyper! Also a bit wary of constipation.

Tiredmummy, my DS1 who is almost 3 and completely normal as far as I can tell loves his 'fluffy" It is a lamb teddy that he has chewed to bits. He used to go looking for fluff or would bite 'fluffy' to get a ball of fluff that he would continue to chew like chewing gum. I used to find about 20 little balls of fluff around his cot in the morning. Weird toddler behaviour!!! He has outgrown 'fluffy' now but swaps toys to be obsessed about every few days - at the moment 'caterpillar' goes everywhere!
Freddie, what on earth are 'efficient nipples'?

Tired Mummy, I recall eating fluff off my blankets and I think I'm normal (relatively). But definitely worth seeing someone as these behaviours in isolation normal but worth catching early if the combination does suggest a possible problem. My nephew who is 10 is being assessed next week for possible autism. Has already been diagnosed with ADD (which DH and I, experts that we are, disagree with) but as soon as SIL mentioned autism I immediately went 'yep, that would expain alot'. He's really bright in that he'll put together a model car we give him for xmas in minutes but socially he is a loner and doesn't relate well with other kids. He is obsessed with his bug and rock collections and very difficult to have a proper conversation with him - he acts & communicates more like he's 5 rather than 10 and very clingy & sooky. Without detail, the home situation is not the best which I don't think helps him but his 7 year old sis is complete opposite - she's miss giggles & will talk all day to anybody about anything. As I understand it there are many different degrees & variations of autism from mild to more severe.
Freddie - I tried a few different MCN's (tots bots, BabyBeehinds (BBHs) & Motherease Sandy's nappies) but decided I would go with BBHs and ordered the bulk back - half bamboo & half hemp. Definitely bulkier than a disposable but we hardly use any of those now so I guess I'm used to it. Make sure all his clothes are extra stretchy/roomy. With washing, I do a load first thing every morning, leave it out all day with 20mins in dryer to finish off and then put away. Seems easy now but was daunting at first!
Charis - C seems fascinated by the purple cast on DH's leg & stares at it and smiles. Grumpy DH says "what u laughin at!!"
Hehe, must complain about settling more often. Slept throuh from 8pm-7am and has settled on his own in his cot for morning nap. Only 30 mins but better than nothing!
Hope Perthies have a good meet today!

Tired mummy - i reread my post in response to your worries about your DD2 and think it was a bit blunt (DH was scooting me off the pc). I have no experience with children other than my little G and am not medically trained - so I have no idea about what the symptons of ADD and autism present as, nor do I know what developmental milestones she should be up to. But I am a very big advocate of following your instincts, and if you have any concerns, getting them checked out. I think you are doing the right thing about raising it with your paed. All the best with it - hope all is well and that you have a healthy, albeit quirky (which in my opinion is a good thing!) little girl on your hands.

Charis - thanks for the tip re breast torture device (aka breast pump) seems i was pressing too hard and have put the cushion back in, tried it all over again with the softly does it attitude - and it worked i got 150ml pretty easily. This one is an avent one, i had to buy it as my one that i had with ds (pur brand) didn't survive.....
i'm in awe of all those mus that have been expressing all this time - i ust can't coordinate a time to do it and when i'm full!!!

Glad to hear its better!
I think part of the reason my nipples were so sore was that no-one showed me how to use the breast pump properly in hospital ( a first for me ) I had to express as well as feed due to her weight and need for weight gain plus they never got a rest from feeding.
Thats the reason I gave up, they were so freakn sore!!! Never was with ds1 or 2 and fed well for months bfing. ah well I know next time!
see you Perth ladies soon! xx

Wish I lived in Perth! Lovely photos, wouldn't it be great if you could all keep in touch for years and years with the bubs - such precious little friends!
Luckily my MG is expanding with 4 of the remaining 7 regular mums having #2 this year. Next one is due any day!
Miserable weather in Sydney today, we are waiting for another massive storm to hit the coast around midnight (winds of up to125kms predicted) Great timing with my rels from QLD due to arrive tomorrow with others en route to Dubbo Zoo as we speak!

Hi Cheeki
Just wanted to give a :hugs: , hope you can be part of your nephews life again someday soon. Obviously have been some very tough times for you and the whole family. Makes me so mad reading about the carers. Why would someone volunteer as a carer if they don't seem to actually CARE about kids. Or if a child is too challenging for them SPEAK UP, don't take it out on the child.
On a more positive note, glad the Perth meet went well. Loved the pics of the mums and their bubbas.

Thanks for the great meet today Charis!
Your first photo link doesn't seem to be working.
DD1 came home and had a huge sleep, but TJ only had a catnap. :fingerscrossed: she has a big sleep tonight.
Good sleeps everyone,
Lisa
Had a hectic day. After a really busy day yesterday I had a quiet day at home planned. It didn't happen. I got a call at 9:15am to say that my friends DD (age 6) had fallen at school and cut her head and they couldn't get onto her mum (we're the emergency contact). Turned out her mum was on a bus trip for her course and couldn't come pick her up. So, I became a mum of 2 for the day, a 6 yo DD and a 5 mo DS. It actually wasn't too bad, but I do wish my friend had a better sense of time. She told me she'd pick up her DD at 1 or 2pm, but it was 4:30pm when she arrived! She's appalling when it comes to estimating time. Oh well, I had fun. I read lots of stories, played on the floor with both of them and completely forgot about the kitchen and the clothes that need washing.
Speaking of which ... I really should put clothes on to wash as I'm running out ! eik!
Sorry no personals ...

and thanks MouseB for all the goodies!!!!!
especially the sippers and the velcro plastics, needed them in next size and was a couple in there xxx
Went to mums after as you know and paid dearly for that this afternoon!!! Katie was sooo tired she cried hard and tears flowed ( not often we get that ) she was just so over tired and would not give in, finally sang her to sleep and popped her in the cot to only wake 20 mins later totally upset again, She calmed down finally after cuddles and talking. Dinner, bath and promptly off to bed to fall asleep in 3 minutes! Not a peep since. Need to make sure Im home by 2 or 3pm for that big arvo nap thats for sure.
More tomorrow

Arh sorry for the short sleeps too girls. Hunter did too. Oh well. :hugs: for little tears for Katie
Cheeki28, wow just realised you have6kids. Your years with your nephew sound so so valuable for him and for you all. Also being so many of his early years. The lack of contact is such a pity for your kids and I imagine for him. Wow, to give love and attention to all, with his selffocussed needs must have been v v hard. I guess all kids are v selffocussed (or us all really). Am sure you;ve read heaps on it..and as Dibs is the only book I have on autism I really know nothing. But its an amazing true story written up from weekly visits Dibs had with his psychologist. true. He gets 'better' whatever 'better' means. But he comes to understand, or at least recognise some of his actions. Gosh you sure had your hands full. The decision that you had to make was an enormous one. But wonderful for Lily Zaide and Noah..(have I got the right one?). Gosh heavy Cheeki28. And families, wow.
Weird post. I guess the kind of life we all lead at the moment, huge depth in being Mums, with the vitial importance of washing machines and SLEEP and the fun of meeting others :) Sorry if that all sounds a bit glib. But where else in the world can you have such heavy and light posts!??
I have those heavy-light bits on occasion and sometimes the future of development/dangers to kids/what schools/complete lack of affluence/the influence or lack of influence of his father etc etc all seem pretty daunting, but most of the time its just wonderfully day by day of joy with each age and stage just unfolding as it does.Anyone else in this weird space?
Cat13 I know what you mean about C looking at you like entree. he he.
Mim1 gosh too, how was the headwound? I bet Josh enjoyed a 'big sister' was great watching MouseBrowns DD1 teaching her little sis so much in everything she does and caring for her so. Us firsties do miss that a lot.

After a short nap yesterday, TJ slept well last night 7-3.
Freddie, I was thinking about changing/not changing nappy during night feed we were talking about yesterday. Decided to change it as the almost full nappy would not have held another full bottle's worth.
Tabby..I'd agree wiht the 15min sit Katie did yesterday. She's certainly got her balance.

quick post as we're off for a weigh-in. Thanks so much for yesterday Charis it was a great meet up with everyone.
didn't finish this in time so we've just had the weigh - 7.84kg which is 300g in 2 weeks and an extra 1.5cm too. Had a reasonably good night sleep last night after all of yesterday's excitement. And a 1 1/2 hour sleep in the car on the way home (had to sit around in the car park when we got home).
more later, we've got mum's group now! busy busy.
kx
ps not sure about the 'efficient nipples'. The CHN said that to me as I've never felt the let down or had any leakage.
pps we did 7pm to 7am without a nappy change last night. a bit full but ok.

Charis, re the heavy/light moments & headspace - I think that's what they mean when they say you don't know what it's like to be a parent until you are one! All the hopes/dreams, worries/fears. But one day at a time doing the best we are able is all we can do. I have a friend with an DD8 who sadly has a Dad with no involvement at all (because it upsets his new wife - what the?!) and she is the happiest most confident kid. Yep, a loving involved Dad would be great but it's not everything, especially if lots of other supportive relatives & friends.
Two days of a taste of rice cereal seems to have cured C of his little sad 'chewing' faces - so going to put that on hold now until he starts asking for it again. Hopefully not until he actually is 6 months!
C's uncle (my little brother) arrives for a visit from Melbourne this arvo. He hasn't seen C since he was 1 week old so will be a massive difference. Seems we always have visitors - I'm very grateful that everyone makes the effort even though we live so far away from them.
Charis ... friends DD's headwound was a deep cut but ok with a butterfly closure thingie. I was more worried that she'd start complaining of a headache or throwing up, so I didn't want to leave her at school. She tripped over her feet whilst running at school and landed headfirst on the bitumen path. She only complained of a headache at 4:30pm, so I reckon she was ok :). She was a bit quiet though. Josh enjoyed having a big toy - bigger than his usual toys, but smaller than daddy (his favourite toy).
Parenting style ... it's just one I've made up :) . Seriously, I've watched a lot of parents with their children and I formed lots of ideas before I had Josh, but I'm still refining what I actually do with Josh and I suppose I will be for the rest of his life. He slept in our room for 6 weeks, however he didn't co-sleep (we've got a queen size bed and dh & I are both nearly 6 foot tall and we use big pillows so there really isn't the room for Josh). Dh wasn't keen on co-sleeping, so it was never going to happen. Josh was with one of us 100% of the time til he was 6 weeks old (we didn't use the monitor at all) - that was in his cocoon which he loved. Josh slept in the lounge room from 6 weeks til about 14 weeks so he was close to us most of the day. After that he moved into his cot in his own room.
I attempt self settling by wrapping him up and putting him in the cot, but I've got a very low threshold for picking him up and rocking/patting him to sleep cause I believe sleep is more important than being able to self settle 100% of the time. I want to BF for as long as possible, but due to his reflux and his begging me for food he started solids a week ago. I carry him around in the baby bjorn when I can, but I have a bad back so I can't do that for more than half an hour, so usually when we go out he's in the pram.
freddie ... I wish I'd had no leakage. My SIL didn't leak with DS, but when she had DD she had to express to build up her supply and that's when she started leaking. I suspect that the fact that I needed to express from day 1 has meant that I was always going to leak. :(
tabby ... sitting for 15 minutes!!! WOW!! Go Katie!

Hi everyone
Love the pics from the Perth meet up. Great to be able to put faces to names.
Had a quiet day today... i've been feeling a bit off with a cold & started taking the pill 2 weeks ago & its been making me feel a bit queasy. Went to my GP yesterday & he lowered the dose, so hopefully that will help. Sierra has the sniffles too. Nothing too bad. Has been sleeping most of the day. Shes been feeding quite well even though she isnt 100%. She had a jar of apple & half a tin of egg custard today for lunch & then a tin of pumpkin & sweetcorn for dinner. Loved it!! Just hate when she rubs her eyes, nose or mouth when shes been eating pumpkin & everything shes wearing gets it covered in orange. Stains really badly lol. Oh well.
Spent most of this evening buying stuff from the UK ebay. They have some great baby clothes. Doesnt work out much different to australia prices. Stuff on aus ebay seems to sell for heaps.. even though most of it is second hand. I sell Sierra clothes that dont fit anymore & made $250 since monday just from 12 listings & i sold her bassinette for $150 on tuesday. So its good for the extra cash.
Well better be off to bed. DD1 & 2 have kinder tomorrow so it will be a busy run around day. Hope everyone is well.
Take care.
Josh sat by himself tonight! :smiliedance: He's got a way to go to catch up to Katie, but he sat all by himself for about 3 minutes!! I can't believe it. I thought I'd give it a go and I was quite shocked to see how well he can sit!
Given that he can sit I think I might sell his bumbo seat on ebay ... he got pretty bored when sitting in it ...

on the floor with pillows behind and beside to encourage her once we knew she was close. Careful of those face plants though if you do that lol.

hi lovely mummies...
haven't kept up with all the posts sorry ... just thought i would pop in to say hi and to fill you in on the news ...
we got taylas results yesterday from the drs and then he sent us up to the hospital where she now is under a team of specialist ... she has been losing protien / plasma from her body and so hence all the screaming - she is getting really bad stomach cramps and all over pain apparently ? so they are doing tests and what not next week and will be changing her meds and formula after that - we have stil managed to breast feed her but sometimes she refuses the breast and will only want bottle - she is just in too much pain - and unforetunatley i dont' seem to get anything when i express - :(
it is so tiresome trying to keep her upright as she is not sitting up yet and i cant carry her much anymore ... the sling is the wrong angle for her so she likes to be more upright ....

HI everyone,
Bossoflatch - :hugs: i really hope you get some answers from the tests & things start improving for you & Tayla.
Sierra is a little overtired today. Woke up a couple of times last night but think it was cause of her sniffles. shes tired now cause DD1 & 2 have kinder today & we have been in & out of the car too many times & she jsut doesnt get the chance to settle for very long. Shes being very cheeky though the last few days. Wont roll from her tummy to her back & just cracks it & waits for me to come & help her & shes been sitting but when i let go she gets excited & kicks her legs so she falls over lol. I think shes doing it on purpose cause she laughs everytime she does it. Funny tho! She is still refusinf to roll from back to tummy, will go almost there & then decide not too  She has no interest in standing either, CHN says she might just be being lazy & tummy time would help that but Sierra hates being on her tummy. Will have to try doing it just a few minutes at a time.
Dropped DD1 enrolment forms off at the school today. Cant believe she is going to school next year. When she was born i never thought she would be old enough to go to school or that it would just go slow but its gone so fast. Its very exciting but sad at the same time. It will be so strange taking her to school everyday. And when Sierra goes... dont even want to think about that  But it will go so fast. Its going to be fun buying all the uniforms, books & stuff for her. She is really looking forward to it which i think makes me feel really good about it too.
Anyway so for the :ecomcity: Must go & do some things before i pick the girls up.

Boss: BIG :hugs:, Good to hear things are getting looked into much more finally, :fingerscrossed: things improve real soon. xx
What sort of sling is it? Mine was from BigW and only about $40 and sits upright facing front or back.
TiredMummy: ah the first day of school! Cherish them but also so sad...Till i get home and realize the quiet! Love it when they come home all full of news and excitement!
Hope Sierra manages a nice nap somewhere today.
I still havnt had a period only a day spotting weeks ago, which is not unusual after depo provera, but I was only on it for 1 jab so af shouldnt take long...this last week I have had af like cramps that come and go but nothing..might have to grab a hpt soon if nothing shows :fingerscrossed:
oh and a couple days there with on/off nausea..probably wishful thinking though.
hate not having AF so I at least know where i am in my cycle! I may have ovulated and not know it!

Bossoflatch, hopefully things will get better when you get this sorted out, sounds like you are on the right track!
Tabby, Katie is very clever! Check out the new pics I posted in our other thread - I was thinking of you! Plus Good Luck with the TTC.
Me - I have been spotting the last couple of days - OOPs, we haven't been especially careful of late, will have to be more conscientious as I'm not ready for #3 just yet!
One of our mums from MG is in labour as we speak, I saw her on Tues and she was so disheartened when the Dr told her bubs was not engaged and her cervix was completely shut - I told her things could move quickly and I had a feeling she was ready - she had been having BH and backaches! How exciting - a new bub, you forget how little they are!

Hi girls,
haven't been around much lately. have family staying in preparation for Kelsey's chistening this weekend so have been busy and they are sleeping in the room with my computer!!
BUT
Have enjoyed skimming over all of your posts from the last few days. Very interesting talk on parenting style. I think i am sort of in the middle.......but i have very strong views on the kids (when they are toddlers/kids) using manners and speaking nicely. I think as long as you love them and have their best interests at heart they will be fine. I hope so anyway - I just want them to be happy after all.
Tabby - sorry for the delay but those clothes are winging their way to you. Probably take about a week to get from here to perth!
Kelsey has just cut 1 bottom tooth without too many dramas. She has been grumpy at times but the bonjela seems to help. It is just poking thru her gum and is very sharp so fingers crossed she doesn't become a boobie biter!!
It is so cold and rainy her which is very unlike tropical nth QLD. Shame it will be chilly and rainy for Kelsey's christening as she is wearing a dress!!!
Loved seeing the pert meet pics!!
Ebay - i wish I knew what I was doing as we just gave away about 6 boxes of boys clothes to a friend - mostly pumpkin patch gear. should have sold them for pocket money!!!
I am thinking about buying a walker for Kelsey. After a few of you have had good things to say about them I popped her in one at target and although her feet don't touch the ground she seemed to like it. Plus then she can run around after DS because she loves to be with him. What do you all think about walkers as they have had alot of bad press in recent times????
Bossoflatch - Such big hugs to you and Tayla. You are such a strong woman and little Tayla has been thru alot hasn't she??? Poor thing had no other way to tell you something was wrong. I truly truly hope she is ok and is feeling better. keep us posted on how she is and (if you don't mind) what sort of treatment she is getting. She will be a changed little girl when better!!!
Sammy - if I don't manage to get on again have a great christening!! I'm excited about Kelsey's!
Blardy DH keeps saying that he wants to have another baby. Trouble is I won't take much convincing!!! I must stay strong!
Take care girls - sorry not more personals but will catch up later! Take care!

Tabby, We have already had a bit of an OOPs moment last week and this spotting had better not be an implantation bleed. I'm still BF so am hoping I'm safe! My worry is it would be twins - don't want to think about coping with 4 under 4 and twins are a strong possability!

I've gone back to work for 2 days this week so not much spare time. Work is pretty easy though, I've been put back in my first position from 2 years ago so Im just raising invoices. It was slightly amusing to find my queries folder still full of queries I'd left in there. Made me curious to know what they'd been doing while i was gone.....
Macy seems to be coping well with the full days at childcare. She is a little quiet when we first get home but then warms up to her usual self in 10 minutes or so. Her two bottom teeth are soooooo close, it will be a relief for her when they come through. Daddy is very excited for her being 'all grown up'
Good to hear that some babies are being lovely to their mummies and giving them a good nights sleep.
:hugs: and prayers for you bossoflatch. Hopefully you get some solutions really soon
Hope everyone else has a good day tomorrow. I'll be enjoying my day off from work hahahaha thats a bit pathetic when I've only worked 2 days so far

Hi everyone! Back from our trip at Melbourne. Glad the Perth meet went well - great photos!! I'm sorry I missed it.
Just kind of skimmed through the last 100000 pages. It was lovely sitting on my lovely rocker (sorely missed for the last week) with DH's laptop in front of Neighbours.. ahhh... good to be home!!
I was really worried about Caitlin sleeping while we were away but she was actually brilloiant - especially considering our luxury melbourne holiday house was on the williamstown train line! What a lovely surprise that was - she did really well though. And the plane trip was pretty good - she slept 3 hours out of 4 today so that was cool!
Interesting to read about parenting styles - I think we're a bit of both here too... she sleeps with us when she wakes early in the morning.. and we love using the slings - Caitlin giggles and smiles the whole time she's in it! BF for as long as possible however had a bad week with my supply - I think it was the stress of being away.
Expressing - tried doign some whilst away so that DH and I could go out by myself and didn't have a huge amount of luck - but then prolly a supply problem too. I always put EBM with rice cereal - and potato or whatever if needed... I think it might taste pretty rank with just water!!
Caitlin's on 2 meals a day with solids - loves banana and liking sucking on apples as well. Oh AND!! I know this is probably really bad but she looooooves sucking on lemons!!! DH is worried about the acid in them but we haven 't had any bad affects so I don't know... tis funny tho!!
Well, bub screaming and DH getting stressed so better go. Bit concerned as my Mum's group is having a night out on Saturday and DH's settling skills are kind of waning... I think he's more worried than me - I don't want to know about it!! I'm goign out to enjoy myself!
flicka ... there have been lots of accidents with walkers, so if you get one you need to be careful. My paed said the main thing is that they must not be able to get in the kitchen or near any stairs with them. So, put up gates (eik, already!) to stop access to those areas.
I'm waiting til mum gets back from her holidays so she can come with me to toysrus and we can get the frame for the jolly jumper. Josh loved it when he had a go last week, pity that our doorframes are actually too wide for the clip thingie (read the instructions after I put it up - oops!).
sammy ... why are twins possible? One of our neighbours had 6 boys under 6 (only one set of twins)!!

Flicka: Like Mim says as long as you have safety in mind as well, walkers are ok imo. Gates around heating/stairs/kitchen areas etc once she is mobile in it.
I generally never leave the room when shes in it just in case she suddenly works out how to control it.
Only thing we need do is block access to here ( dining/kitchen )with a fence/gate soon. Oh and the heater in the lounge, got that worked out thanks to mouseB, tip on using a playpen around it so am off to sunday swapmeet for that. Until then shes never out of my sight while in it.
Cordelia: welcome home! Glad you had a lovely time and well done Caitlyn!! for being such a good girl.
Korahblue: Glad the going back to work transition went so well. enjoy your day off!
Sammy: My mum fell preg with my sister while fully bfing! If you dont want another just yet you best get on something girl lol

Hi all, Quick post while I have a spare moment!
Mim, lots of fraternal twins on both my mum & dads side of the family, I'm over 30 and live in the multiple birth capital of Australia - no kidding, apparently the Northern beaches of Sydney have the highest incidence of twins in Aus!!!
Tabby, DH is freaked out and we are being much more careful now! Not that it happens that often anyway LOL
I'm off to see Priscilla with my mum & cousins tonight DH can't believe I'm actually having a proper night out and is happy to stay home with his boys and watch the footy.
M is waking up at around 4am at the moment - not crying or anything - I'm woken up by the sound of him filling his pants! By the time I've changed him he's wide awake and I usually feed him and bring him into bed for a snuggle. I was up till midnight last night doing the final layer of icing on the cakes (2 tiers) so wasn't keen on the early wakeup call - thank goodness B sleeps in till 8am.

Hi everyone
Sam - Hope you have a great night out.
DD2 was a twin. I lost one early on. There is one set of twins on my side & 3 sets on DH side & i set of triplets. Is fraternal twins were its one egg that seperates into 2 or 2 eggs fertilized? I always get them confused. DD2 & the other twin were 2 eggs fertilized so i think thats non identical... right? too confusing for me today lol. Think i still have a bit of pregnancy brain.
Sierra had a pretty good night, slept for 8 hrs then up for a feed then slept for another 3 1/2 so wasnt too bad. She still has the sniffles today so shes not 100% happy. But not sooking too much. Would hav any solids today, just wanted a bottle so maybe she just needs to sleep & get rid of the cold before she eats too much.
We are thinking about getting a walker or jolly jumper for her too. We had a walker for DD1 & 2 and it was great. Sierra has no interest in standing so i think either one would help her. Will have to go have a look around for a nice one.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm no expert but fraternal twins are non-identical. As you get older some women release more eggs and it can be hereditary to release more then one egg. This means it can't pass from your DH's side as you are the one releasing the eggs. Apparently the average age of mums in my area is older so that may account for the frequency of multiple births. I have 3 girlfriends with twins and one expecting a set in December.
BTW, my MG friend had a healthy baby boy, Joshua Logan after an relatively easy 10hr labour. It's all boys for our MG so far this year, 3 for 3 in 07.

Lots of pages to catch up on and seems to be lots happening with everyone's bubs which is great. Nice to see the photos from the Perth meet. I just realised it's the first time I have seen a photo of Mousebrown and Tabby, after knowing you for about a year!
We had a Melb meet yesterday from the Feb thread which was fun as always. On wednesday I had a mum's group meet at my house which went ok. They all seemed keen to try out some of Reece's gadgets, eg his swing and bumbo seat. Reece slept that day from 1.15pm to 4pm, then he got up for a feed. So by the time he joined the other babies they were all going home lol. They always have the meets at 2pm which doesn't really work for me as R always has a big sleep in the middle of the day followed by a feed. There is no way that I wake him now unless I really have to
We have tried solids just the once here but not really interested so haven't done anymore, will hold off for a bit longer. No sign of any teeth yet either.
Interesting all the talk about being PG again and the possibility of twins! Don't think that would happen here unless I had IVF but I would ask for a single egg transfer anyway.
Reece is rolling from front to back very well now and last night he rolled back to front for the first time:smiliedance: Just had one hand tucked under him but I still think it counts lol.
Off to pick-up his Twinkle Toes hand and feet casts tomorrow. Hopefully his photos will be ready soon too and then I will do a display on one of the walls in the Family Room.
I've had a good week on eBay, sold the Baby Bjorn pretty much for new price. It was only used a couple of times, R never liked it.
Not much else planned for the weekend, will see what the weather is doing. What does everyone else have planned?
Take care everyone :hugs:

Hi Hels, We are in for a bad few days weather wise in Perth so plans on hold here I think. Was hoping to go swap meet Sunday but the forecast isn't too good. Its suppose to hit this evening and all w.e!
Katie is the same regards 2pm long sleep, made the mistake tues in going to mums after our perth meet and boy did I pay for it later. have informed family that 2-4 is a huge no for anything other than here for nap time from now on, for now anyway. Its just not worth the upset imo.
YAY for reece rolling!
Im still getting cramps, not quite af type, more suttle? and some nausea on and off, will buy hpt tomorrow at shopping, to at least rule it out so my mind doesnt play any more tricks if im not lol
Josh's sleep time is the morning. He is often up for less than 45 minutes when he has his morning feed (anywhere from 8 - 11am), then he sleeps for a couple of hours. We go out every 2nd Thursday morning and every Sunday morning and he only gets 45 minutes each time, so I try and keep mornings quiet otherwise, or he gets really tired!
:smiliedance: for Reece & his rolling!
Josh progressed from pumpkin to pear this morning :) . To look at his face you'd think he didn't like it (he looks so cute with a screwed up face), but he barely dribbed it and took all I offered him, so I think he enjoyed it afterall! I just wish I had his highchair. We bought it last week at Baby Bunting and they said it should be in within 2 days, it's now been 10 days and no highchair has arrived :(

Boss...:hugs: hope you get some answers soon
Cordelia...good to hear you are back. Hope your time with the in-laws went ok
Hels...:smiliedance: for Reece rolling. Soon he'll be rolling around everywhere. I can't keep TJ on her rug, she's rolling everywhere. Which means I have to get in and wash my floors  , it's been 6 months so they are really lovely.
:smiliedance: had our first sleep through on Wednesday night 7.45-6.30. Only fed once last night, so I'm hoping for a repeat again soon.
Am going to introduce breakfast to TJ tomorrow as she's not been interested in her bottle of a morning (even after the sleep thorugh). So she'll be on three solids feeds, which means I've got a weekend of cooking baby food coming up.
I bought an Ikea highchair on Monday and can't recommend them highly enough for those who still haven't bought one. Only $40, TJ sits up well in it and it's super easy to clean.
Have a great weekend,
Lisa

hello all
Flicka, no doubt too busy with relos & christening plans to be checking BH & I'm sure you have this covered already anyway BUT have lovely hand knitted white cardy & blanket if Kelsey needs extra rugging up for her big day. U should still have my numbers? LOL have to say this is not how cold I thought my first tropical winter would be! And of course because this house is in the tropics we have NO heating. Even had to pull the doona out last night. And C is not used to being in so many layers and has a  tanty everytime I undress him for a change.
Hehe...on solids, off solids and now on them again. Saw C's paed yetserday & he wants me to push C on them a bit more so tried rice again today. I didn't think he seemed keen at first but then he tried to grab the spoon off me and feed himself & I had none leftover & not much on his bib so it must have all ended up in his belly.
Paed visit was to check on C's kidney's, still a blockage at junction between ureter & kidney on the left so having another scan next week which involves injecting a dye so they can see exactly how much backward pressure the blockage is causing. If severe could be an op on the cards as can cause kidney damage in the long run but not worrying about that until I need too as C is 100% fine for now. Paed also confirmed that C's on again off again cheek & crease rash is exczema (SP?) but doesn't seem to bother him so just have to try & keep it moisturised.
Also having more luck with self-settling. It helps that now when he's tired he starts sucking his thumb so I know exactly when it's time to put him in his cot.
cat ... I recommend rosken dry skin lotion for the ezcema. It really helps my skin and I tried all sorts of 'baby lotions' for josh and just left the ezcema there and covered it with a layer of slime. I tried the rosken dry skin lotion and he has soft skin again! Yeah! It's not expensive and I just get mine from the supermarket or chemist. I hope he doesn't end up needing surgery for his kidney problems.
:smiliedance: for self settling cameron! Josh is just in the process of self settling for the 3rd time today and wow, it is such bliss isn't it? When he was sick a few weeks ago I had to pat and rock 90% of the time for over a week, my wrist got SO sore.
 Got a call from the baby store ... the highchair delivery is delayed til mid july!! We've paid for it too! At least we've got one on loan (highchair/swing combo) til the end next week, but then we'll be feeding in the bouncer or bumbo seat I suppose.

I’m 9 weeks preggers yesterday and everything is going smoothly. Can’t believe how quick it’s going. Have another ultrasound in 3 weeks time.
School holidays have started today. So now all I’ll be hearing for the next 2 weeks from my step daughters is “I’m Bored” lol. Fun fun fun

happy friday to all!
Glad to see you back CORDELIA! Was too bad we couldn't catch up at the meet, but will both always be here I suppose.
TABBY, get that hpt asap!! Keeping my :fingerscrossed: for you that you are, or that it happens very soon!!
Well just a quick update here from us......low and behold, the little mister finally took a bottle from me yesterday!! :smiliedance: I'm so excited to know I can leave him and he won't starve, lol. He drank about 150ml (formula) around 4pm, had his usual bedtime feed then slept 7-3:30, then until 7:30!! Which is awesome as that was how he was sleeping months ago. Just getting up the once makes a world of a difference, and he was even happier for it too. Am now going to persist with the p.m. formula bottle.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!! Raining here now which means I can put off doing the washing! oh ya :D
