I have twin boys, Angus & Ajay born 27th September 2006. I'd just like to ask how do you not be rude to every 2nd person that comes along to chat to you and google over your twins when you finally get out to the shops with them! It takes up so much time getting around when every second person stops to chit chat about them. It's gr8 that people r interested but its v very time consuming.

Hi Dan, What a great question! I have this great cover that goes over my pram so you can't see in. So on days when I just want to get on with what every I am doing I put the cover down. It's like a fly screen, very hard to see in. But I found most of the time it's people who have twins or have them in their family that stop me. And most days I am fine with it, as I have been give some great advice from one old lady. Also never go out with the twins in Baby Bjorn you will stopped all the time and get some funny looks too. But in saying this I also get stop when people work out that I have five kidlets with me. I was once asked if I was doing Family Day Care, I just laugh and no they are all mine. You should of seen the look on her face, she went red and run off

Kylie, you will get out more and more. I have 4 and I really really struggle to get out some days but I do mostly for my own sanity some times. I really think the more you do it, the easier it gets. I went shopping on Friday with the 4. I had a lot of people stare! My eldest ended up pushing her sister around in a pram that my mum insisted on taking and then left us to get her hair done! The damn thing squeaked the whole time too to make it worse. Anyway the promise of a treat, kept them on their best behaviour!!!!
I naturally got stopped a lot and it was kind of frustrating as I just wanted to shop! I will try the cover/shade option as I have do one. Great idea Angela. My twins would be kinda spooked though they love seeing the world out and about!
Keep up the good work twin mummies!

I hear you. People think they are the only one who have asked the question that day. I too have a sun shade which is not very see through, and when I don't want to be disturbed I put that on and can get around and do what I need in no time.
I too get asked are they twins? I like your response though. That's great, I must remember that next time.

Hi, haven't seen you in a while and I was wondering how you were doing. I had them at 32 weeks due to TTTS so :fingerscrossed: you'll be fine and carry them to full term. Also be assured that if you had to have them now they would be fine. Yes they would spend some time in hospital but their chances of survival are great. Good luck and here's hoping you go for another 7 or 8 weeks.

Hi Niki, well done for getting to 35 weeks. How do you feel?
As for me all my boys have been sick and now DH and I have sore throats. Never ending. They are on the mend though and hope to get over this in a couple of weeks. Oh I forgot it's winter, probably have this the whole time.
Speak to you all soon.

Felicity was first at 11:39 and Nicholas was 11:40 all over and done with very quickly, but it always takes longer to sew us back up again
I had a c-sect too and it is quick and so calm compared to my emergency c-sect with Jake. Ben was born at 08.23 and Matthew was born at 08.24. Where yours pm or am?

Hi Twin Mummies
I don't get here very often but I have girl/boy twins who were born at 31wks in September 2005.
I have heard all the stupid questions. When mine were little we had the added fascination because we not only had twins but tiny twins so I have the Outlook Shade as well.
My favourite question is "Are they identical" to which I reply "No, he has a penis and she doesn't". Shuts them up everytime :D
:o Sorry silly me it was 11:39 am and 11:40am!
Ben and Matthew are just of 3 hours older. How freaky?

I get are they twins? Are they boys/girls or both? People just need to find something to say don't they? I had the same fascination with mine because mine too were so small.
How are yours now? Have they caught up height, weight etc?

We would be mega rich!! I was in a foul mood one day while out shopping and when this lady said, oh double trouble as she walked past me ... I turned around and said, actually no it's no trouble at all!!
My favourite question is "Are they identical" to which I reply "No, he has a penis and she doesn't". Shuts them up everytime :D
 That's a great response!! I can imagine the looks on the lil' ol' ladies faces!!

It's hard but believe me, it'll get better when your twins get older. Even though we still get attention either I'm OK about it now or that the lil' ol' ladies just had to touch them when they were little, it's not so bad now. Use an Outlook Shade for your pram (feels silly inside Westfields but...) or a blanket and you won't get stopped quite so much. Anyway, enjoy your twins they are such gorgeous, beautiful little bubbas!! Love your avatar! Valentine

Welcome littledarlinghoneyboy.
Shajake Taea has caught up and is now average height, weight and development for her chronological age. Bailey has always been smaller and has just hit 10kgs and is around 80cms. He hits his milestones at around corrected age.
As far as attention goes we get more because Bailey flirts with every woman he meets

Don't get to meet many other Taeas' You are right about the pronunciations thank god we usually get Tea-a. I loved the name from the actress but didn't like the spelling DP came up with our spelling.
We've only been here since February. I grew up in Lake Macquarie but have lived in Sydney for 20 odd years and DP is born and bred Sydneysider but we are absolutely loving it up here. It has been a challenge for DP though now that he is a SAHD.
Bailey had his first haircut last nite and DP suffered more than our little man

Busymummy when the twins were born I took maternity leave when it was time to go back to work I couldn't face going back f/t so I went p/t and DP cut back to p/t so that the babies were only at FDC 1 day per week.
We had already talked about moving from Sydney when a transfer opportunity came up. It meant a promotion for me but the condition was that I had to go back f/t so we made the decision that DP would give up work and become a SAHD. So far it is working really well.
The good thing for me is I'm now the good parent :D Work is also quite flexible so I can still be there if needed.
Probably not for everyone but it works for us.

Doubledelight - sounds like everything is going well for you with yr working arrangements. I think its great. My husband works away with his job (if you could call it that he's a sports professional) and I tease him all the time about him staying at home and being the SAHD. He says he'd love it but I couldn't bring in the money he does. Slight point but we'd be a united family more often!

Busymum thanks for thinking of us. Fortunately we escaped unscathed but it really is a mess up here and there is more rain forecast for the weekend
I meant to ask what sport does hubby play?
My two are so funny at the moment. We're going through a love phase so they're constantly hugging and kissing each other. I've just been speaking to DP on the phone and apparently Bailey has learnt a new trick - he can climb out of his cot :p We're in for some interesting times ahead I think.
Hope everyone is well.

Hi guys,
I have 2 sets of twins.
Boy/Boy Joshua & Harrison non-identical born April 2003 at 34 weeks.
Girl/Girl Maddison & Jessica non-identical born August 2005 at 36 weeks.
It wasn't me that voted for "and more" on the poll, I just found this thread. I only voted for twins once though.
I agree about people stopping you in shopping centres etc. It's bad enough with one set of twins but 2 sets it's like a circus when people stop to chat or ask questions. Everywhere I go I hear people whispering "Oh my God they have 2 sets of twins, quick look." I do get out quite a bit though, my kids are quite well behaved. I normally have the girls in the pram and the boys walk along holding on to one side of the pram each.
Each set born by c-section. And no we are not going to try for any more, 2 boys and 2 girls that is as good as it gets!!

OMG! You are a very very clever woman! I can just imagine the looks, stares, and questions you must get asked. We've also called it quits after having two girls (non twins) and then twin boys! I do say to people oh i have two girls at home when out with just the boys and sometimes they say oh twin girls too!

My two are at a fantastic and not so fantastic age at the moment. To watch them together, they absolutely adore each other - turns me to mush but having two in the "terrible twos" is not so much fun at times.

Oh DD, I just realised (duh) that yr twins have a birthday 2 days before too!!
Yeah it is party time in September that week for sure.
I wanted to have a fairly big bash for the twins 1st b'day but looks like DH will be away and it is grand final footy (AFL) weekend so a lot of people are away for that too. I think I will plan something for the Sunday anway. I love a party. I'm actually quite excited about making the invitations more at this point.

Oh yeah well I do agree but I also love the footy and if the WC Eagles (our team) are in the Grand final then no one would show up on the Saturday!! LOL. I am trying to push to get to the grand final too if i can get tickets. Oh i've wanted to go all my life!
We'll see. Their birthday is the Thursday anyway so we'll celebrate it that day for sure. Maybe just not with the all out party I had planned in my head. Maybe that could be next year when they know what is going on a little more.
Bless yr DSD for dressing up in an Elmo costume. What a big hit that will be.

it unbelievable.the doc doesnt know what to do with me because of my bicornuate uterus.if i get through this ill be the second person on record to ever naturally have triplets with a bicornuate uterus.
the specialist recomended selective reduction,it would improve my chances by 25%.i have refused.no persentage is worth sacrificing a life.
instead he is going to put me on magnesium sulfate wich will make me really sick n drained.

Hiya everyone,
I didn't know about a little thread for multi mums.
I had girl/boy twins 19 March 2006!
Cait weighed in at 6lb 6oz and George in at 7lb 2oz...
Both 50cm in length.
I was induced at 39 weeks, gave it my all for a couple days and had a emergency ceasar to finally bring them into the world.
Nice to meet you all!
I would love to hear any birth stories you guys want to share.
I have been dredging up VBAC stories all over the bubhub site seeing if anyone has had a vbac after their twins!
Paige!! :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: on both hands for you!!!!
I hope you have plenty of help available for when they arrive..
I am scared enough just expecting one more after the twins haha!

Paige, Where abouts are you? Does your specialist deal with high risk pregnancies? It's always a hard decision to make and you need to make the decision that is true to your heart. We were faced with possibly making some difficult decisions during my pregnancy and choose to let nature take it's course and as a result we hve Ben and Matthew.
B]Doubledelight[/B], all is well. We have had really bad colds and bronchialitis nearly landing Matthew in at the childrens hospital but :fingerscrossed: we won't have to go there again in a hurry.
How are you?
Superdad, welcome
ali jane:wave:
big welcome!
double delight:its supportive just knowing there are people out there rooting:laughing: for me.
thankyou
shajake:i am in western australia near perth.
my specialist at the moment is only one for multiple pregnancy.he is not the one illl keep.apparently there is limited resorces:thumbsdown: .unless i want the trip to melbourne i dont have much choice.i am first priority as soon as other cases are done.:rain:
hope everyone is well.
keep safe
