Playtime at 2am feed

Our DD is 7 weeks old and just over the past few nights has been waking as usual for the 2am feed.....but she thinks it is playtime. She is wide awake and smiles and just wants to stay awake. We make sure everything is dark, we don't talk to her and she usually settles quite well after a feed.

At the moment we bath at 6pm, feed at 6.30pm and bed at 7pm. We then do a kinda dreamfeed at 10pm and she wakes for her 2am feed.

I was thinking of maybe pushing out her bedtime or making sure she doesn't fall asleep during that 6.30pm feed.

What do you think?

Is she still doing this? Quite often it is simply a phase they go through, perhaps part of a growth spurt. You've been doing the right thing anyways, keeping it dark and quiet. Good luck!

my dd is doing this and she is 5 weeks, but she sleeps like an angel during the day then at night time she stays awake from 7:30 til 10 then sleeps until 2 or 3 then decides she doesn't want to sleep anymore. i try to keep her awake during the day but it is so hard because she is tired from being awake all night
