View Full Version : What car?
I have a 5 1/2 year old son and 3 1/2 year old daughter, and baby on the way in August 10, what I want to know is which cars can fit three child car seats in the back? We have a Honda CRV and I really did not want to sell it but we may have to because it doesn't fit another seat.

We have 3 car seats in our Commodore Wagon (2 safe n sound convertibles and one safe n sound booster). It is a tight squeeze but they all fit. We're looking at getting a Ford Territory which also fits 3 seats (with 3 kids you can't fit a friend or nan/pop in anymore..........so the third row of seats in the territory would be great).

we have an 03 commodore S and it fits 3 seats comfy, also with two seats there is enough room for an adult in the back :)

I nearly posted a thread about this myself... it's squishy in my car with 2 car seats and can fit a thinner adult in the back.... I can't upgrade the car, so I might have to invest in smaller car seats if/when I fall pregnant... anyone have a camry sedan that fits 3 comfortably??

Why don't you invest in compact car seats rather than a new car if you want to keep your CRV (which are fantastic cars... you would only be downgrading ;) )
I used to fit a fisher price convertable, a full back booster and a no back booster in my little corolla  . Your 5 1/2 year old should be able to go onto a no back booster, you can also get a racing harness type belt if needed.
Look for the carseats with no big base plate on them.

When I had my twins I had to search for skinny seats to fit in a small nissan. I fitted a 1/2 booster with a harness and 2 Safe n Sound Compaq Deluxe accross the back seat. I went to a baby shop and we tried a few options until we realised that was it. There might be more choices now though because that was nearly 4 years ago.
Hi Spider,
I have a mazda tribute 4wd and It fits two carseats and another adult across the backseat. I also fit a pram, sportsbag and two puppies in the backboot.
There was another thread just 2 up from here that spoke about smaller based seats. For any looking at getting a bigger car though we just bought a Mitsubishi Grandis (7 seater) and is the best thing we've ever done. We have 5 kids and need to use all seats at all times but each of the 5 seats seat adults comfortably and they're easy to get in and out of. Looked at every other type of car and this was the only one (beside a carnival) that fitted us comfortably with enough room for pram, shopping, etc. Found things like the Toyota Kluger or Ford Territory just didn't have any legspace in the rear row at all.
