View Full Version : Malden mills polar fleece
Would anyone be interested in going into a co-op with me to get some malden mills fleece. Would really save on postage if we had a few people get together. Let me know if your interested and we will go from there.

id be in for that :)
I did email them the other day to ask about a bulk rate but they never got back to me, so i think we should just decide what we want from the website and put one order of everyones in and get it all sent out and distribute it from there. I am not making any decisions till next week so i will leave it open and we will put an order in then.
Just to let you know, the US only has airmail shipping now and Malden Mills is closing down :( as well from my information :)

how did you find out they were closing down. I thought that they were the only ones that made the proper wr fleece
I was just on their website, it dosnt say anything about them closing down, i hope not. I know that they do airmail shipping, thats why i want a few people to share the cost.

Closing down:eek: That would suck.
Lillipilli, if you're still going ahead I'd probably be interested in a couple of metres of fleece. Let me know if you're still ordering.

diapercuts in the US has windpro on sale for $8 per yard, and they will ship by sea I think. Try them, they have more available than MM direct anyway

There is no sea shipping from the US any longer, they only ship airmail. They did away with economy on the 15th May :( Makes it a tad expensive to get stuff from there now.

There was a letter posted/emailed out :(

Thanks for the tip Emma - that's a great price. Can anyone tell me the difference between the lightweight, midweight and heavyweight windpro?

It's just how thick they are. Mid weight and heavy are best for nappies. Lightwieght still works, but the ones I've made from lightwieght need more boosting due to compression leaks

  So as long as when I came to pick it up it had magically transformed itself into a nappy for Isaac :p That could save me a lot of time and hard work actually:laughing:
I think i will still put an order through malden mills, but if anyone wants to go in together through diapercuts, i might get some suedecloth, sherpa and microfleece.
Isaacs mummy, if you want we can get it sent to me and i will keep it for you till you move, or send it on if you havent.

 Well I might be able to do one or two for a few nappy cuts of MM:p
Seriously though since you are moving to Canberra I'd be happy to hold onto it for you :)

I've sent an email asking approximately how long delivery will be, so I may just take you up on your offer to hold onto it for me Emma if it's going to be within the next few weeks. And you're more than welcome to a couple of nappy cuts for your help and assistance:D

I ended up getting it from Diapercuts - it was just such a great price, I couldn't resist:thumbsup:
I guess by the time you add postage and convert everything into AUD it doesn't work out that much cheaper than buying it locally, but Wee Wuns doesn't have much stock at the moment, so I thought what the heck:D
So a sewing bee is definately on the cards once I move down your way Hoop:yes:

I just bought a heaps of MM from MM's store, diaper cuts and another site and got them to post it to my brother in the states. He's going to squish it all up for me and post it in one big box.
Should be a lot cheaper than sending it all seperately.
Another web site you can get lots of MM from is Outdoor Wilderness fabrics inc.

Yep you're exactly right, it worked out the same per metre pretty much, I looked into it, but decided to get it from MM because they had more colour choice at the time

I'd love some MMfleece  . Never tried it before.
I'm going to go through all our old climbing gear, we have fleece jackets that costs hundreds, so they must be good for nappies....

 good one Foxy
I am now leaning towards getting it from the outdoor fabrics site (thanks little toad), what is everyone elses thoughts on this, they have a much bigger range, although i havent checked if they have they really nice curly stuff hoopdeedoo got from MM, i doubt they would. Im torn now, i want some of that but i want alot of the prints from the outdoors one. Pity i didnt have a relative i could send it all too and combine the shipping to Oz.

lillipilli.. I didnt even look at the prints on the outdoor fabric site.
Have you got yours yet?
I might actually buy some more curly stuff from MM too, i got a couple of cuts off another member but might want to get more.
Let me know what you were thinking of getting and I can order them and we can go halves in each yard if you want?
I would be REALLY interested in some MM fleece, whichever way is the go...
I havent ordered any yet, i am deciding what cash i have to play with. I am really keen on getting some curly fleece, how much are you after, i was thinking of getting the blue, apple green, azalea and cherry red. So if you did want to go halves we could do that. That will be about $35 each plus postage. What colours are you after i might be able to get some different ones if you want, let me know.
lillipilli, where are you planning on getting the fleece from? I'd love to go in as well and get some, I'm getting desperate! I'd be interested in the blue, apple green and BLACK! oh, and maybe the spanish moss...
Is it ok for me to order with you as well?
Ok i think i have finally decided on what i am getting, i am getting sherpa, microfleece and suedecloth from diapercuts and 200wt polar fleece and 300 wt curly fleece from malden mills. Does anyone know what the postage will be like for at least 12 yards, little Toad, if we are going to go halvies are you going to order everything together including my extra bits and whatever anyones else wants and then send it to your brother like you mentioned earlier, is that going to work out cheaper.Anyway if anyone wants to get some stuff from diapercuts we can go in together and share the postage.
Mim, did you want the curly fleece or did you just want some normal polar fleece, if its alright with Little Toad i think you can go in with the group. That includes everyone else as well, (providing little toad agrees)

Zoe, if you're just wanting to order MM from the selection that Diapercuts has on sale PM me and let me know. I haven't paid for my order yet because I'm getting Beth to work out the best way to get it here before I move to Canberra, plus I'm adding a few more things to it:o :D
If you're happy with the selection from there, just PM me your order and I can tack it on to mine, and we can split the postage based on how much you're ordering. She said she can get it here in ten days, so I'll then post it on to you before I move, if you're intersted.
