Hi,

We are looking at a 3/4 night snow holiday with our 2 and 4 year old boys. It needs to be in Victoria. It will mostly be for snow play and tobogganning.

We know nothing about the Victorian snow fields or planning a snow holiday.

We are looking at Mount Baw Baw or Mount Hotham.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of snow fields or accomodation. Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks,
Sarah :D

If it is just snow play and toboganning then Mt Baw Baw or Lake Mountain is good. It's not too far from Melbourne and it's not expensive to get in unlike Buller and Hotham which are bigger and cater more for skiiers, snowboarders and have more facilities catered for overnight stays and longer trips.

I hear Baw Baw takes as long as Buller to get to only because the road up is so windy.

Lake Mountain would probably be my choice - it's got some shelter places and most that go there are families with young children focussed on snow play and the like. It's more for day trips etc.

Thanks :D I had another look and I think we will go to Lake Mountain, maybe spend a night or 2 in Maryville.
