Okay. I have a new list. DH has finally decided on a few names he likes (none of which are on my list, but anyways!). He is impossible. Really! Until now he only had one name, and trying to get him to even think about names, let alone compile a list has been hard work!!

Maxwell
Rory
Ronan
Henry
Sebastian

are all acceptable to him. He likes Maxwell (Max) the most of all. He thinks it's a cool name.

One more question. Our children's surname is Milne (like AA Milne, author of Winnie the Pooh).

I don't mind the name Max (well, it's growing on me), but do you think "Maxwell Milne" sounds dumb or okay?

Thanks in advance!
Rachel

I love the name Maxwell (it's my FIL's name and DS2's middle name).
Maxwell Milne sounds like a famous person, it has a lovely ring to it - go on use it!

Okay Rachel - first of all you have to know I have been at the awards night so am a little excitable but here are my rambling anyway...

I LOVE the name Maxwell and Max for short. I always wanted to name a son Max after Max in "where the wild things are". My DH always wanted to have a child with the same initials (MM in your case) as he swears that the large majority of successful sportspeople have the same first and last initial (Bjorn Borg, Andre Agassi, etc) so between DH and I then Max would be the winner. I like the sound of it with Milne, and with Alice as his sister's name.

I also like Rory - makes me think of a little firecracker of a kid - lots of mischief and charm.

I also don't mind all the others but the first two are big winners with me.

Hope it helps!

thanks guys!
i am feeling a bit better now about Maxwell Milne since a few people think it sounds cool. My DH is very happy about that too, so says thank you!!!!

I am more partial to Rory at this stage myself but Max is growing on me. So one more question: Do you think it would be funny/daggy to have Rachel (me), Robert (DH) and Rory (and Alice)???? Three R's in the family!????

thanks! :D

No Rach, I don't think that would be weird at all. I know a couple who both have M names and they have picked M names for their whole three kids.. now THAT is odd!

But I do still like Max better than Rory. And I quite like Sebastian too.. :)

I think Maxwell Milne sounds great together, its a name that will sound quite cute for a baby/little boy, but also will grow with him.

I also like Sebastian and Ronan, but I think Max goes better with the middle name Robert and surname Milne.

I love the name Sebastian, nearly called DS2 that name. I'd prefer Max rather than Maxwell.

I am another Sebastian fan. My second fave would be Maxwell.

Oh my God - My husband is exactly the same. He has his mind set on 1 name and It's like pulling teeth trying to get him to think of any others. Hopeless. We sat down again last night and tried to nut out a list - He now has 2 maybe's (after 2 hrs of chatting) on his list and I have at least 20 on mine. Soooooo frustrating!

All xlnt names... personally I like Maxie. Best to try putting it on paper whatever combo suits you best be a good one to keep. List must inc. middle name/s this way when you read it out you can see all potential flaws like nicknames acronynms, what does his name mean- does part of it honor anyone of value etc. If all fails he can legally change it at aged 18 +. Good luck. Cheers. 118
