Sonaisali is a beautiful resort. We tossed up getting married there or at the Warwick, but went with the Warwick Resort  on the coral coast. It was awesome, so relaxing and so romantic. Sonaisali isn't far from Nadi airport and has a swim up pool bar :yelclap: . I was told there are only 2 resorts with swim up pool bars (that was a necessity for me when I went to Fiji, LOL), the one you're staying at, and the Warwick. You'll be able to go shopping in Nadi, we had to go to Sigatoka (btwn Nadi & Suva) to get groceries etc. , which is closer to where your parents will be staying at the Sheraton (also a gorgeous resort). I am so jealous, I wanted to go back there (to the Warwick) for our 5 year wedding anniversary but we can't afford it right now :gloomy: maybe one day! Bring on the honeymoon baby!

I just got back from Fiji.....2nd time. The first was for our honeymoon.
We had a stay over at the Sheraton before heading to our island resort....very nice! cocktails there are awesome
Thanks for all your replies ladies! It makes it so much more exciting that i can tell someone hehe :D
Thanks for the heads up on the resorts EmsMum72 I havent spoken to anyone who has been there before. I too liked the look of the Warwick but I was told it was a bit more family orientated and I was after something quite romantic...the swim up bar is definately a bonus
Any other tips you can give me? Things to do or see? The only thing we have included in our package is breakfast. Any idea on how much spending money we should take in $Aus?
Pixie, you are right about having the parents there but my parents asked if they could come for a few nights so we thought we'd better give the in-laws the same opportunity to come. But we did book them on a different resort so that we wouldnt be running into them all the time!
Meg :)

We took $1250.00 spending money, and we were there for 10 nights but we had b'fast & lunch included daily, so only had to pay for dinners and alcohol. We had a huge buffet breakfast and I think most of the resorts do it, so if you have a late brekky and eat heaps you won't feel like lunch (we only ate it 'cause it was included in our package), grab some nibblies in town and just munch on them until dinner time. Meals are reasonably priced, but alcohol at the hotels is quite expensive (specially cocktails). We took a couple of bottles of spirits with us and drank a bit on our balcony in the afternoons, then only had to buy a few drinks at the nightclub or the restaurants. BUT, it's a once in a lifetime thing so I spent a bit on cocktails at the pool bar . $1,250.00 was enough for us cause we didn't really want to buy any souveniers, but if you want souveniers you might need to take more money.
We hired a car and went to Suva, but didn't think much of it - pretty dirty, and it was a really yukky day (hot and raining). We befriended a few of the locals (they are so friendly), and they took us to an awesome beach party one night, and our porter took my girlfriend and I into Sigatoka so we didn't get harassed by the locals. We also went out fishing on a boat one day, and we did some scuba diving. The only thing that nearly put me off scuba diving were the sea snakes in the water  . I had my hair beaded for about $20.00, looked awesome, lasted for about 3 wks. Massages cost about $40-50 at the resort for 30 mins. The Fijian men LOVE white girls and will probably flirt like mad with you, so always take your hubby with you, LOL! We also were taken, by some locals, to a beautiful waterfall on the Coral Coast where we swam. You will be able to find out all that information at reception. We didn't go to Nadi, other than the airport, so I can't comment on that. We spent the majority of our time at the resort cause there was everything we needed there - pool, beach, entertainment, lots of music, alcohol, cultural shows, sporting activities, sunsets, a huge double king size bed :D). I had to try Kava cause I was in Fiji, but it's grosse :barf: . Hope I've been of some help!
