Ok now I know you can get pg while b/f however I have not had AF yet and I think I am still ovulating (I have always been able to feel it) but how does it all work?

How does you lining work? When does it come normally with AF? and what about when you are pg?

Is there any reason why I can't try now? Is it not safe? Is it ok?

I would ask my OB but at $65 a visit I just can't afford that at the moment.....

Hoping for a :bfp: this year! :yelclap:

I wasn't sure either, i was originally going to TTC when DS was 9 months old still being BF and i only just got my AF back, and even then i found it hard to fall pregnant so decided to wait till i weaned DS. Then when i weaned DS i decided not to TTC! lol

How many feeds is Spencer having now? I think once you are down to like 1 or 2 feeds a day you should get AF back, then at least it's easier to tell when you are ovulating. There are also probably heaps of threads on here about ovulation and how to know when you are. I have learned so much just from reading about others experiences on here.

And also, goodluck TTC :)

He is 9 months and still has about 5-6 feeds, he just loves his boobie! Can't get him off! LOL

I am in the process of stopping night feeds as I think it is making him wake up more, to get boobie.

Hi there! I just thought I would let you know that its not possible (unless you have an extremely rare medical condition or are pregnant) to not get af after ovulating. IF you are ovulating, you WILL get af afterwards. Its hard to judge whether you are ovulating or not simply by pinching in the ovaries as this pinching can mean so many things. For example, I get cysts on my ovaries and get that pinching quite often, but it has been proven that I dont ovulate that often. Im def not saying this is what you are experiencing, but you can be getting those pains simply from eggs developing.

I would try cutting down the feeds (if you want) and see if that will bring on af. In the meantime, I would start charting so that you can see when you finally do ovulate (if you do before getting your first post-partum af...only about 50% of women do from what Ive read)...and keep bding! It can be quite hard with a bub to be bd'ing regularly, and not knowing when your cycle is going to return can be a pain! If you are really keen to get things started again, go to your gp (free) and he can give you progesterone to get your af back. Im not sure what effect this will have on your milk supply however, so take that into consideration.

Its not unsafe to be trying to get pg. Your lining develops in response to your hormones, and just because you arent having af doesnt necessarily mean you dont have a lining, or that the lining is too old. Its hard to say without getting an internal ultrasound (like at your OB).

Sorry I wish I could be of more help. Good luck though and please keep us posted!
