Hi all :)

For the last few weeks, my 10 1/2 month old has been having the following day sleeps (roughly):

Wake up - 6am
Sleep 8-10am
Sleep 12-1pm
Sleep 4-5pm
Bed 7.30

BUT for the last 2 days, he has not had the 4-5 sleep. So he is effectively going without sleep from 1pm till 7.30! He goes through a ropable stage between 4 and 5, but will not sleep! Dad gets home at 5, and then all is happy again until bedtime (usually).

Is it normal to drop that sleep and have such a loooooong waking time in the afternoon?

(I'd try to put him to bed later at the 8am and 12pm sleeps, but he won't have a bar of it - he HAS to sleep at those times, yawns his head off and drops off quickly with no fuss! )

It sounds normal to me. What you might find until he moves his lunchtime sleep a little later is that he might go to bed a bit early - at time DD2 was ready to crash at 6pm when she first dropped that late afternoon sleep. It will take a few weeks to settle down but it will - promise!:)

Wow - I think you are lucky to be getting 3 sleeps in a day!:)

We have been on 2 sleeps since DS was 8 months old....they are all just so different! :D

My DS wakes at 6ish - goes back down at 9ish (anywhere from 40 minutes to 2hrs) and then again at about 2ish ( same scenario)

As Theresa said - it will settle down - just a matter of going with the flow for a while!
