well, amy, i was in paris for my birthday :) it was all very low key. my partner, son and i had a quick quiet dinner at a place close to our hotel and went to bed early. going to restaurants with spencer is no walk in the park. he never sits still. my partner turns 50 later this year so i think we'll get spencer babysat and go out for a big one.

well, amy, i was in paris for my birthday
Oooh la la! What a fabulous way to turn 40! The most memorable way I think I have heard before. Congrats!

I hear you on the tired front. I had ds at 37 and dd#2 at 38 (14mths apart). I was exhausted but at least I was getting a full night sleep once dd#2 hit the ten week mark. It made coping through the day easier. We all used to take a day nap too for a few hours. Things seemed to ease up when ds was around 3 and could do more for himself and was out of nappies.
Yes it is tiring though. For me I am happy I had them. They are 6 and 5 now and both at school. So just as I get my freedom back.. I fall pg again!! lol.
I have my 12wk scan on Monday morning and although I feel well - I am terrified. I don't think I could take another missed m/c. Praying it all goes well.
Will post when it is over.
*biting my nails to the quick*

What a wonderful birthday red!
Tips on the next if there is one?
Ive never been so damn tired in my life but am still going to go for another! We are ttc now. Its just sooo worth it, to me anyhow :D.
Kaite has made this decision very easy, she has been the happiest go lucky baby since day one! Slept through from about 6 weeks and hardly ever crys, made our choice all the easier thats for sure.
Before I had her I said this is the last, no doubts!
Within 3 weeks I had changed my mind

hi Oldermum  look forward to chatting with you more.

Elfin: look forward to seeing more of you come August, arghh im 44 come August!

*wave* Just thought I'd say hello.

I am 40 later this year and pregnant with baby no 4 :) I will be 40 when he/she is born. We have two older children and a baby girl born Aug 2006.

I feel I don't really belong in the 30+ parents thread, but maybe I'm too young for this one  (that was joke by the way girls, ...:o sorry!! Maybe I'm in denial!!)

Anyway "hi" and I look forward to chatting more :)

I think I am denial too! But I am excited at the same time there are bubhubbers here who grew up in the 70s and 80s.

Like remembering the fashions, the first time we heard Adam Ant on the radio, when the first stars wars movie was released, when the space shuttle was first launched etc. Sigh they were the good old days:yes:

Hello Elfin. I was so in love with Adam Ant *sigh* what a hottie!! The funny part now is my 20 year old daughter plays my old Kings of the Wild Frontier tape and bops along to it. I have managed to convert her to a lot of 70's and 80's music and have also started indoctrinating the younger kids too. Disco will rise again! lol.

LOL Amy, yes poor old Adam is a bit of wreck these days, but in his heyday he was so hot.

I remember disco so well, my mum and I actually went and had disco dancing lessons. Long live disco:smiliedance: :smiliedance: :smiliedance:

Yes, this is me also.... sometimes, you just have to do it, even though you know you'll be knackered, irritable, tired, etc..... but....you do it anyway because you want to have another and you perhaps feel unfullfilled at present, something is lacking, I dont know exactly what it is, its undefinable.....and there's no explaining it I think... even though I try!

My hubby is 59 this year and Ill be 43, so I think we are pushign the envelope somewhat, but hey, thats life. We both dont feel old, just BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!

Cheers, Rita
