Well after lots of things going on and trying to remain friends or working it out or something I have come to the conclusion that Tyler and I deserve soooo much better.... and I finally took the ring off tonight.... I realised how much it did not mean to him... even though he gave it to me... it means absolutely nothing!!!...

So my question is... what did everyone do with theirs??...

Did you sell it? Keep it?... Keep it to give to your child??

I don't know what to do with it and was just wondering what others have done!!...

TIA!! :hugs:

I had mine melted down and made a new wedding band for my father in the same design as the one he lost 2 weeks after his and mum's wedding - 36 years ago. The smaller diamonds were made into earrings for my mum and I've kept the big main diamond to make into a pendant for DD when she is older.

Mine is in a safe place. I'm keeping it to give to my DS when he's older and to show his parents were in love. I kept everything my ex gave me in the same box for him to see when he's older.
Even though I don't have any feelings of love for my ex anymore it still takes my breath away to look at that ring. It is just the most beautiful diamond ring. I couldn't bring myself to melt it down or anything like that. I've thought about wearing it on my other hand as just a ring but not sure about that one.

My mum raised us kids as a single mum...and when I was about 20...mum gave me her wedding ring..(they were divorced since I was little and mum kept the ring the whole time)I was very touched and have it put away in a special place.

I love this idea.... it would be such a beauiful way to show him we were in love and he was a baby made from his parents love... even though it went sour!!... This also answers my question about what to do with everything he has given me!!.... Thank you so much for the idea!!... I'll be finding everything and putting it all into a box like this for Tyler!!!

Thanks heaps girls!! :hugs:

My best friend's mum had the diamond from her engagement ring put into a pendant for her daughter, for her 21st birthday. My best friend really treasures it.

I had Connors birthstone put into my wedding ring and his initials and birthdate engraved into it. I only wore it for about a month before I decided that despite the changes made to it, I still didn't like wearing what had been my wedding ring. I have since lost it though which does disapoint me. :crying:

My engagement ring is packed away in a box. It's worth a bit of money so I guess I can pawn it if I really get desperate one day.

I have no intention of giving the rings to Connor as I don't see the point of passing on the symbol of a failed marriage and a father he's never met.

I have remarried so I had no need to hold on to my useless cheap wedding rings the ex had bought me so a few years ago I decided to trade them in and get money for them and buy myself something nice. Can you believe all Igot was $130 for three rings with 12 little diamonds all up.

I still wear my engagement ring bbut on my right hand. Not because i still have feelings for my ex or because it reminds me of our time together but just because its a beautiful ring and too nice to be stored in a jewellery box. There have been times where I have thought I really shouldnt be wearing it. I dont wear my wedding ring or my eternity ring they are stored in a safe place for when DS gets older.

I also have kept my engagement ring from my DD's dad for her when she gets older.

i am still wearing my engagement ring ( the only ring i have from lee) and i can't bear the thought of taking it off.
although initially i thought that it would take me along time until i felt ready to remove it. just lately i have been 'feeling' it on my finger rather than just not noticing it and i guess that now i an see the time will come when it will just feel right to take it off.
i like the idea of passing it on to my children somehow.
it's prollynot worth much dosh, but it is worth special sentimental stuff for us.

Only had an engagement ring - yes keeping it and giving it to Chanel when she is older - at least she knows she was created out of love - even if her parents didn't stay together.
Personal decision I guess
