Is Zantac (extra strength) ok to take while pregnant for heartburn?

Hi,
I'm pretty sure I took them last time on the recommendation of my Ob (I think his office is closed now otherwise I would ring). At 32 weeks the heartburn is now at the unbearable stage and I thknk I need to take something. Does anyone know if Zantac is okay?

My doctor recommended I take it while I was pregnant with DD as nothing else even came close to stopping the heartburn. So i say its safe!!!!:D

Thanks Clare. I rang my Ob. this morning and it is safe (I thought it was what I took last time but wasn't sure - my brain has turned to mush). Thanks again.

My Ob prescribed it for me too.

i was prescribed zantac but was told NOT to take the extra strength,only the regular ones..
