Has anyone come across a child barrier / saftey gate suitable for a staircase that is curved ? e.g. spiral etc????? Friends are not able to put one at the bottom of theirs and the top is curved??

Have a look at the KiddyGuard. It's a different style altogether. It's a super dooper mesh that retracts into a unit bolted on one side and get's pulled across to some brackets on the other side to block the entry. It doesn't have a crossbar at the bottom and since it's flexible I assume it could probably be installed at different angles to the standard gate.

We bought it because we needed to place it on the bottom stair (rather than at the bottom) and we didn't want anyone to trip on a crossbar halfway across a stair. I got ours from Kidsafe and its the only place I've seen it. Check it out on the manufacturers site www.lascal.se (Swedish site but in English).
