Hi ladies, ill give you a little background info first so you know what I'm going on about...
I started cosleeping with my Ava a few weeks ago because she hates her cot. Since then she has been weeing SO much at night - I assume because she's on the boob a lot.
Every single night she will wet herself. The wee goes up the back of the disposable and all over her singlet and wondersuit.
Last night she did it twice. I hate changing her in the freezing cold. Poor thing had sniffles this morning because of it.
So I just had a few questions about cloth nappies for nighttime:
What type would be best for high wee content?
How many would I need? Would two or three be enough if I rotated?
What else would I have to buy (i have no clue)?
I'm hoping if I buy a few for her night time sleeps and they are good and I don't get totally confused by what I am doing, that I can eventually transfer her to 100% cloth instead of disposables.
At the moment im totally clueless when it comes to cloth.
Thank you!

Very baby Simply nights or a Good night sleep tight would be the most absorbent. Most babies are OK in a Baby BeeHinds Bamboo, with or without extra boosters.
With wool covers
It sounds like you have a heavy wetter so the first two mentioned are probably what you need, or you might have to change at least once overnight because if she is drinking a lot nothing will hold it all in, plus it can't be nice being that wet
Good Luck!

Even in disposables, DD would be wet in the morning...
Last night, for hte first time, I tried a BBB (no extra padding... just what came with it) and a Stacinator deluxe fleece cover. It was BRILLIANT. She was in bed for A REALLY LONG TIME (maybe 13-14 hours!) and in the morning, it didn't even feel wet at all. I took the cover off and the nappy underneath was full and heavy... pretty wet. But it didn't leak anyway.
It was brilliant and I'm hoping to get some more!

Is that a baby behinds bamboo, stacey?
Ooh so they come with padding and I won't have to buy extra?
Thanks Hoopsdeedoo and Sassymummy!
Ill check out all those nappies.
My DD is quite a wetter and I've found the my Sandmans night nappy, with some woolen longies works really well. She would often soak through a BBB quicker than one of the Sandmans.
I got mine from Sustainable Hemp Products, you can find them in the directory here (http://www.bubhub.com.au/shopsnappyproducts.shtml). The ones that Emma has suggested are great also.
It's a matter of trail and error as to how many to buy. I would probably try one of each and see how you go.
Good luck with it. :)

Thanks tickle. Gods there are so many.
Are there any I should be steering clear of?
Do you remember how much it cost, Tickle? When I add it to my cart to check the price it comes up as $0.00
I would probably go with what is most recommended and then from there you will know what works best for you and what to look for. Also check out all the older cloth threads, there are heaps of different types of nappies recommended.
You can also read the nappy reviews here. (http://www.bubhub.com.au/myreviews/censura.php?csid=6295b6de125050377c9c93fffae3edd3&cmd=browse&category_id=14)
It can be a little overwhelming at first, but if you do a little research then dive in you won't look back. ;) It's a year now since we have switched and I will never go back. :D

I'm having a browse now, it is rather overwhelming :D
I might try a BBB because they seem popular. Is bamboo or hemp more absorbent?
Is there a cheaper alternative to the Stacinator Deluxe fleece cover?
I feel so clueless.
Edit: Actually dont worry, the stacinator fleece looks good.
You could try just a plain knitted soaker. That might be a bit cheaper. I personally like to try to stick to the natural stuff, but PUL covers do work well if you want to give them a go. They tend to be a fair bit cheaper. I've got a Bummis one which works really well.
Bamboo is more absorbent than hemp. Give the BBB a go and see what you think. :D

Baby Beehinds in bamboo are awesome, but I'd be more confident if you got a bamboo fold-up from them too. I've never had overnight sucess without a bamboo fold-up in there too. But with that combo- it is sooo absorbant.
My BBB with bamboo fold-up lasts all night for us- including the many months Ariene was in my bed and on the boob very frequently. I never had to do an extra nappy change, yet sometimes she'd have short snacks every HOUR   And still never leak!
I use wool now, but a Baby Beehinds pul cover will do the trick if you have plently of boosting  There you go- all three things from the same place! I'd get the deluxe trial pack then, it will give you a spare nappy for slow winter drying (and you can specify that you want both nappies to be bamboo) and you save some $$- plus it comes with everything you need

I got a Baby Beehinds Bamboo Fold-Up but haven't used it yet. It is VERY soft though.
The Stacinator is so expensive... I know. I wanted to avoid wool though because I'm lazy and just KNOW I wouldn't be stuffed trying to lanolise anything. Also hate the feel of wool and wouldn't want it between my legs... so I wouldn't put it on DD for that same reason. Lots of people love it though, so no doubt it works well!
There are other fleece covers out there if you want one... I have no idea what works and what doesn't other than the only one I have... lol.
Maybe see which ones you like the look of and start a thread asking about them (or do a search on this part of hte forum about them).
