Hello everyone. I am new here and really confused about what to do with my pregnancy.

A little introduction about myself.. First, we just moved here in Australia 7 months ago. I have 2 kids, a girl 4 years old and a boy 21 months old. I just found out today that I am pregnant. We only planned on having just two kids for practical reasons. Just thinking about termination with my pregnancy really makes me feel very sad and cry. On the other hand, We just really can't afford to have another one.

To all mums who had terminations, 1) What is your first action of who/what/where to do about it? 2) How much does it cost? 3) How long is the procedure and what happen after? Will you bleed a lot? What kind of pain? etc.

I am really worried, confused and feeling sick thinking about it. And very sad.

Thanks for reading and hope to see your replies.

:hugs: I can only imagine all the thoughts running through your mind as you struggle with this.

I can't give a recommendation of who exactly to see, but there are several groups listed in the BubHub Info directory (http://www.bubhub.com.au/servicesprepregnancyqld.shtml) who may be able to help you sort through this and answer some questions. I find it ironic that counselling about possible terminations is provided through family planning groups, but that's how it seems to be.

Best of luck, and hugs to you and your two little ones.

I had a termination a few years ago as there was a problem with my baby. Doctors picked this up on ultrasound and organised everything for me.

If there is a medical reason for the termination, then I think its free. Otherwise a I think its a few hundred dollars.

I think it only takes about 15 minutes. Mine was called a suction curettage (sp?). They put the drip thing in my hand and I fell asleep. I woke up in the recovery room and it was all done. Theres no pain when they do the termination as you are asleep. They gave me a drink and a biscuit, made sure everything was ok and then DP drove me home.

I cant remember the bleeding but it may have been like a normal period. And I think they gave me 2 tablets to take when I woke up (but I dont know what they were for).

They also do counselling before you have the termination.

Thats all I can think of for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask or PM if you want.
