Have you tried feeding her in a different spot ? Perhaps on the floor, in the bouncer or just somewhere other than your lap ?
Maybe let her try and hold the bottle herself.
Does she do this at all feeds or just a few ? Maybe she's not hungry ?

I have tried her on her own with me holding the bottle but still the same.. yesterday I tried her in the high chair with its back down a bit still the same...

its pretty much every feed except for dream feed lol! I cherish that lol! :o

she won't drink all of it I am having battles with it she is only almost 4 months old and she feeds averagly 4 hourly feeds and none through the night she sleeps through... would she prefer food instead of milk??? I don't know

I am having the same problems with my 5 month old DD. I have even tried feeding her with no distractions around but she squirms and wriggles. It has only started since she has been able to roll over. I think it is just because she is kind off mobile now and has realised her own strength. Will be watching this thread closely.

Thanks for that I have pretty much tried everything else she won't have her bottle now.. she normally has about 150mls and I have been battling it for about 30mins and she has had 80mls... that should be enough to keep her happy I hope she isn't complaining she is happy laughing with her big sister!

LOL - All I can say is get used to it. My DD was the same- such a battle isnt it? I attributed it to her being more aware of her surroundings- she was such a nosy little thing! I started her on organic rice cereal with a bit of fruit puree in it about that age. She loved it! Gave her something new to learn and something for me to do with her. Good luck with her hun- I know how you feel! DD still wriggles and struggles with her night bottle- I have started singing to her it has helped alot (twinkle twinkle is a good one if you have a spare hand to wriggle fingers with too)

She might not like that particular formula. Possibly try another one.

Or even try a cup or a sippee cup.

My DS wouldn't take a bottle at first either but he was happy to drink from a small cup. After a few weeks of using a cup, he decided he liked the bottle.

But yes once he started rolling and becoming more mobile he was quite fidgety whilst feeding too but it did settle after a while.

she has had this formula since she was about 9weeks old and hadn't been a problem until now.. she just started being fidgeting squirming etc she rolled over about 7 weeks old!! she had been fine til now... my DP thinks she has outgrown day feeds!! I hope this isn't the case.. she seems to be drinking less and less milk each day.. what do u think??

I would now suggest to see your clinic nurse or Dr.
If she is drinking less she may become dehydrated and another problem might occur.
You may need professional advise on this one.

im having the same kinda issues besides my dd is 8 months (nearly 9 months) is having problems sleeping (wakes up during all hours of the night, im thinking shes been having night mares) and she does wriggle and tries to push the bottle away ever since she could roll over.
And im getting annoyed as usually she would drink about 250mls but just for the last 2 days shes been refusing the bottle and just continuely cries.
i need help too!

Same issues here, it now takes 30 mins to feed when used to be 10. The first 10-15 mins are the worst where she constantly pushes bottle out to try and sit up but then crys because she wants it.
I just persevere and we eventualy get there though like you some are only half the bottle.
I figure its just a passing phase that some get at this age as there is quite a few on our jan07 babys thread with the same problem and hopefully will settle back to normal soon.
Let us know how you go chn, will be interesting to see what she says

Have you tried going to a faster flowing teat? My daughter did what you are talking about when she was about 4 months and we found that the milk wasn't coming out fast enough for her and she drank very little because it took so much effort to drink that she wore herself out before finishing.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with Lachlan and he is the same age!!! maybe it's something about the age??? Or maybe your baby has a sore throat?? Have you checked inside the mouth for thrush?

Lachlan has been unwell, so I think he might not be feeding because of that... maybe take her to the doctor to be checked?
